I absolutely fell in love with this place!! Perfect location and great customer service!! It is such a great deal and the extra attention and care from the staff really made my stay wonderful! The breakfast in the morning was great, and the cafe next to it has the nicest girls working! I really enjoyed the cleanliness of the rooms.

We found the Stratford Inn to be a very affordable, comfortable and convenient base for visits to Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and other activities in the Rogue Valley. Rooms are clean, comfortable and relatively spacious. Amenities include a basic free breakfast, nice indoor pool and quiet area. The staff are friendly and very helpful.

The location of the Stratford is also excellent, right on Main Street and just about four blocks from OSF's theaters, shopping and dining.

This is an excellent hotel option if you are visiting Ashland for the plays, but don't want to spend $250-$350 for the many pricier Bed & Breakfasts and luxury hotels in town. It is also IN downtown, compared to most other moderately priced hotels that are a mile or more away near the interstate.

We will definitely stay here again, and probably bring our kids next time.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the east side for a view of the valley and mountains, and to avoid road noise from...

The Stratford Inn is a great place to stay when one visits Ashland. The location is close to all of the main attractions: theater, restaurants, shopping,
parks, library, and music. All of this in a relaxed environment.
All of the staff I have encountered are welcoming and helpful. The facility is clean and well maintained. I've never had an issue with something not working or in a degraded condition.
I would recommend the Stratford to anyone who wants a clean, comfortable place to stay while on the road.

This in-town hotel is conveniently located walking distance from the OSFand the shops and restaurants of Ashland. The beds were comfortable, rooms fairly spacious, bathrooms well appointed, if not luxurious, and all very clean. It was great to have a small fridge and microwave in the room as well. And the indoor pool was very nice--large and clean. The complimentary breakfast was just ok--cereals and breads were fine, but the egg sandwich makings were not very appetizing and coffee was mediocre. (I preferred to take a brisk morning walk to Noble Coffee a few blocks away for my a.m. coffee.) Staff were all very pleasant. The only real drawback was that the walls aren't very soundproof, but that was only a problem one night because a busload of teenagers was in residence. And the hallways are rather dark and dingy; they should get rid of the dark paneling! Otherwise we found the place to be quiet. I still prefer the charm of a nice B&B, and the cost of the rooms here weren't much less than the B&Bs, but if a motel suits your needs better, I'd definitely recommend the Stratford over one of the outlying chain motels.

Room Tip: We requested a "quiet room" and were placed on the back of the motel on the 3rd floor, whi...

Good morning,

Thanks for taking the time to give us a review. We always appreciate guest feedback. I saw that you weren't satisfied with the coffee. I'm curious, are you talking about the coffee that came with the free continental breakfast, or the coffee from Boulevard Coffee (the coffee coffee in the lobby)?

We're glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again soon!

Very nice room, with good fridge, microwave, and wifi. Good location. Breakfast not so great.

However, the hotel's service was decidedly tacky when I discovered afterwards that I'd left a couple shirts behind. First, they failed to notify me when they found them, despite having all my contact information. Second, they charged me $22 (!) to mail 2 shirts to me. Third, they enclosed a note from the maid saying that she wanted the shirts if I didn't claim them. Not a classy joint.

Room Tip: "Tree side" means west (facing the road and the nearer set of hills), and "mountain s...

Reminds me of an old Holiday Inn, kept pretty clean but frayed around the edges.
The flickering CRT analogue TV really was out of date and annoying to try to watch.
The staff was friendly enough old hardware, brass keys for doors and bath fixtures scream for a renovation.

My dissatisfaction stems from the horrible experience we had on our second night, when a large middle school group went to the pool after 10:45 PM. We were in room 301, two floors above the pool area. The noise from the pool woke us from a sound sleep. It sounded like an incredibly loud sports event right behind our bed. At 11 PM we phoned the desk. The woman there explained the situation (I could hear the loud noise over the phone) and said she would take care of it. 10 minutes later, with the noise continuing to increase, we phoned again. Still no changes after 10 more minutes, so my husband got dressed, went down to the pool, found the staff and parents unresponsive to his concern. He finally yelled at the kids to be quiet. And this is not a man who yells at anyone. A horrible, horrible situation for him, one that kept us from sleeping for several more hours even though the kids immediately left the pool. When we checked out the next morning, the front desk staff acknowledged the noise problems in 301. We chose this hotel in part because it had 24 hour desk service; but I guess the student families were paying a lot more than we were and therefore our comfort was not a desk priority.

Room Tip: If you have to stay here, do not stay in any room over the pool area. Preferably, don't stay her...
