“AAAAA++++ Beautiful choice. OK value.”
Reviewed June 17, 2014 via mobile

My husband and I have stayed here for 2 Christian marriage retreats, and then again on our 8th anniversary. It's a beautiful stay, the breakfast is amazing, as is the hospitality & room. We had only wished "Larks" wasn't too spendy to eat at or we would have eaten there for dinner.

The Ashland Springs Hotel is very centrally located in downtown Ashland. The hotel is very old but has a charming feel to it and is nicely decorated in florals and pastels. The rooms vary quite a bit and some are a little on the small side. The complimentary breakfast is very generous and is served in the hotel's restaurant Larks and is buffet style. The hotel also offers free wifi and on-site free parking. Everything in Ashland is walking distance from the hotel and it is a very good choice when visiting this quaint and charming city.

I come to this town several times a year. The pricing is never the same, but the same small room is. It is not great but it is safe, clean and Nick in particular at the front desk was very helpful this trip.

We loved this place. They went the extra mile with a GREAT bed and Starbucks coffee in room!!!! Why don't all hotels give you decent coffee? We had an eighth floor room on the front of the hotel and the Rogue Valley views were spectacular. The room had a bright and cheery color scheme as did the lovely common areas. This is a 1920's historic hotel beautifully renovated and brought back to original grandeur with a huge open lobby. They provided free internet and parking which always rings my chime. There were 6! feather pillows! Since it's right smack dab in the middle of Ashland we never saw our car again after parking it because we could walk everywhere. All theaters are within a block or two including the Elizabethan. The movie theater was 2 doors down. Lithia Park only two blocks, a must see.
I'd like to give two bits of constructive criticism. Granted, the continental breakfast was free with our stay but I much prefer to pay for a cooked, hot meal and since the Larks restaurant is in the building and has good food it would seem like a no brainer. However, Morning Glory Café is only 1 mile east on the same street and worth the wait. Secondly, there was no tea provided in our room on either night. I first thought it was an oversight as I can see how thoughtful everything else was but two days in a row, it must not have been.
If you are like us and enjoy historic hotels rather than predictable chains give this place a go. You won't be disappointed. Kudos to the crew, too, they are stellar.

Room Tip: Book a high floor corner room and the views will knock your socks off. If not available request fron...

Close to theaters, in the heart of town with a great restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The public areas are well restored and the rooms are charming and comfortable but small. If you are looking for a new hotel or a resort, this is not your best choice but we always stay here and look forward to returning.

Old hotel, restored to it's former glory some years ago. Rooms are small but very comfortable. Good bed and pillows. Staff is very helpful. Beautiful roof garden.....roses, roses, roses! Right in the centre of Ashland. Park your car (free) and walk everywhere! Our third visit. If you are tired of chain hotels, visit the Ashland Springs Hotel!

Room Tip: Room 816 is a corner room.Lots of windows!

This is our second time staying here. The location is great. We park our car and don't move it again until we leave town. Half a block from the OSF theaters. Right in the heart of town. Rooms are small but adequate. Staff is friendly. The breakfast that comes with the room leaves a little to be desired.
