Our new favorite restaurant in Ashland! Lovely menu using local ingredients, fresh and tasty. Great location overlooking the creek and off the main street. Hands-on owners and wonderful wait staff. Just a great dining experience!

“When in Ashland, Oregon, don't hesitate to dine at the Loft”

Dinner for the four of us at the Loft in Ashland on September 9 was an exceptional find! The food was delicious and the restaurant was as charming and adorable as owner, Jacqueline Vidalo, who served us! You won't be disappointed.

“Fabulous food, service...well not so much.”
Reviewed September 8, 2010

Ok, I can not brag enough about how amazing the food is here! It's the ONLY reason I have gone back several times. The chef does a beautiful job of bringing what could be fussy food to an approachable level everyone will enjoy and not the least bit fussy. Really can't say enough about the truffle mac -n- cheese, with crab...orgasmic really!!!! Their location on the creek couldn't be better, the patio seating is the best and they have done a fantastic job redecorating. Now the drawback, they, by far, have the worst service I have experienced in all my travels around the globe (having been a flight attendant, they are many). Wine will come out before martini's and 15 minutes after you order it (with any luck); salads only minutes before the entrees (which are often times cold on arrival); bread served after the salad course; they bark "who had the beet salad" like you were in a diner and the timing of delivery of all the guests at the table can have a discrepancy of up to 10 minutes or more (which if you are polite and waiting for all your guests to be served before beginning, you are certain to have many cold plates). Servers elbows passed in front of ones face during delivery or clearing; if second course flatware is required it is often forgotten or delivered holding, not the handle, but handed to you by the prong of the fork you are about to eat with just after the server has cleared a table; check-backs avoided; initial greetings, once seated, can take close to 10 minutes and a general lack-luster welcome at the door (not even looking up to smile and saying "you can sit anywhere"). The owner is very sweet, her husband can certainly cook, but she may want to work on the service quite a bit to keep us coming back for more.

“We'll definitely go back again..”
Reviewed September 1, 2010

Four of us in town in August decided to give it a try since this is one of the newer restaurants in town. We reserved a spot for dinner outside on the upper deck ... which is definitely the way to go in the summer time. Nice live music (classical guitar) but a speaker positioned directly behind the table was going to destroy our evening. Our servers took care situation immediately. The food was very good with one note: the dinner salads are HUGE (could be half the size for a buck or two less) and we found a nice selection of wines. They got us through a nice leisurely meal (starting at 6 PM) with plenty of time to make an 8 PM play. The owner stopped by the table to make sure all was well -- I could tell she was interested everyone's experience. I am hoping next year they are still around, because we are definitely coming back again for dinner!
