Owner description: You don't need to head to England to experience the genius of a Shakespearean play. Much closer to home is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival located in Ashland, Oregon. Every year at the end of October you can enjoy on average over ten of Shakespeare's plays performed in both classic and newly imagined style. Separate tickets are needed for each show which is held at one of the event campus's two indoor or one outdoor spaces.

We look forward to our Ashland visits and this spring visit was special. We will return in August for the rest of the plays—can't wait!

Traditional Shakespeare in the Elizabethan Theatre--check! Shakespeare with a modern setting in the Bowmer Theatre--check! Contemporary Plays and Drams in the Bowmer Theatre or the Thompson (formerly New) Theatre--check! The OSF Repertory Company includes professional talent (actors, crew, and structures) to make any theatre experience worth seeing!

This was our very first play at the Ashland Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and did we start out with a bang! It was a wonderfully professional production in the very cozy New Theater. We were seated on the back row of the right side...and still they were excellent seats. The actors were extremely talented, their voices projected very well, the theatrical effects were quite simple and clever, and the 2:45 minute production (with 15 minute intermission) just went whizzing by. The dialogue was easily understandable to this non-native English speaker. We hope to be back for many more productions.

Wow, I was so surprised by Madea/Macbeth/Cinderella. Like nothing I've ever seen before. The Angus Bowmer Theatre was very comfortable and the play was outstanding. The cast did a fantastic job of telling these stories and there was so much going on it was pure excitement. There were even a few musical numbers which was a pleasant surprise. The set was creatively done and the costumes were wonderful. This was a great show and one that you aren't going to have the opportunity to see very often. I'm glad we decided to do it.
