Owner description: You don't need to head to England to experience the genius of a Shakespearean play. Much closer to home is the Oregon Shakespeare Festival located in Ashland, Oregon. Every year at the end of October you can enjoy on average over ten of Shakespeare's plays performed in both classic and newly imagined style. Separate tickets are needed for each show which is held at one of the event campus's two indoor or one outdoor spaces.

Wow, I was so surprised by Madea/Macbeth/Cinderella. Like nothing I've ever seen before. The Angus Bowmer Theatre was very comfortable and the play was outstanding. The cast did a fantastic job of telling these stories and there was so much going on it was pure excitement. There were even a few musical numbers which was a pleasant surprise. The set was creatively done and the costumes were wonderful. This was a great show and one that you aren't going to have the opportunity to see very often. I'm glad we decided to do it.

Saw this year's full 3-hour staging of Romeo and Juliet with my wife and two children, ages 10 & 13. The quality of the production, the extraordinary atmosphere and passion for theater that pervades every part of this extremely charming little town is nothing short of enchanting. And, most surprisingly, our children loved the play and have asked to see more Shakespeare. For that, we're very grateful to the people of Ashland and the OSF for providing accessible culture in Oregon.

2012 is a banner year for us. We not only enjoyed four great plays, but joined the Festival.

The festival never disappoints my thirst for excellent theater. After several years you can watch the same actors in different roles and come to appreciate their supreme talents. I come every year and will continue. It fills me up...
