“A world of romance and intrigue.”

OSF in Ashland is like a disneyland for theater and literature lovers. Whether it be a walk in the park, a Shakespear show, a lecture, or a gourmet lunch by the river---it all adds to a world of relaxation and intrigue

“Good Experience”

Tickets are a bit pricey, but we enjoyed the two productions we saw. It's part of experiencing Ashland, though I probably won't shell out the money to do it again for a long time.

“A slice of heaven for theater lovers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2011

The OSF is one of the premier reperatory theaters in the US. Play selection (about 40% Shakespeare and the remainder divided between classic and modern plays), production quality, costumes, sets, and of course the theaters themselves, are all magnificent. Theater lovers from throughout the West (and elsewhere) make the OSF an annual tradition.

Plan on staying a few days, and taking in a play (or two, if you are hard-core) each day. There are plenty of other activities to keep you busy, and well fed, for the rest of each day.

“Great theater”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2011

I've been going to Ashland Shakespeare for over ten years now. The actors are amazing, even better than what I saw in London. There are plenty of non-Shakespeare shows as well, and many restaurant choices that cater to even strict dietary requirements. If you like theater you should not miss Ashland.
For the non-theater people, there is river rafting on the Rouge river, hiking, horseback riding, shopping, and many other options.

“As always WONDERFUL!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2011

Because we see a lot of theatre, and are have an annual membership for a different Shakespearean theatre company, we do not attend the Shakepearean productions at Ashland. We do try to catch as many other plays as possible here. We feel that the plays are always interesting and entertaining. Sometimes they are intellectually stimulating, and sometimes just fun, but all of them are well staged, and the quality of acting is top notch. It is why we have come almost every year, and will continue to do so.
