The facility is nicely decorated and they have a upstairs for private parties. For some reason, this place is the buzz of the little circle there in Amherst. This is probably because locals are desperate for a decent place to go. It is frequently elbow to elbow with a wide variety of ages, but mostly young middle aged yuppies who think they or somebody, or a flood of teeny bopper types. Staffing is usually insufficient on crowded nights and its really really tough to get close to the bar or get a drink. The jukebox is usually blaring constantly which is fine, hey give the people what they want right? Except when there are significant sporting events such as the Buckeyes, NBA Finals or home State NFL Teams, then it gets really annoying. Their refusal to turn down the noise while people are tying to watch the games I find intolerable and down right annoying to the point of avoiding when possible because I know I can't hear the game at all. On to the food. The pizza is usually good, however you have to keep an eye on the crust. They have a habit at times of serving pizza with undercooked crust. I ordered the nacho's once and it was downright disturbing. Not sure how you can mess nacho's up but they manage. Lets put it this way, if you like several pounds of "cheese whiz" substance out of a can heaped on low grade tortilla's, then this is the appetizer for you. The stuffed spicy hot peppers are pretty good if you can take the heat. There is decent food here but you have to be selective and proceed with caution. These folks are sitting on a gold mine here and with a few little moves and waking up to what makes sense juke box/significant sporting events issues, it would be a regular stop for me. And a re-evaluation of staffing and bar issues on extremely busy nights would be beneficial also. On nights like these you need ear plugs and have to yell to have any kind of conversation with anyone.
