We chose Open Water Grill because it was on the sound side and we could watch the sunset and the kiteboarders near sunset. We also couldn't decide from the reviews how it would really be.
1. The atmosphere was great. We sat on the deck, over the sound. It was exactly what we were looking for.
2. Food was good. Several imaginative sides. Everyone was pleased with their meal. However, the menu was small and they were out of several things that we were interested in. I had the surf and turf alfredo-very good, but the flavor came from the meat...the alfredo itself was a bit bland. Fish and chips were a bit underwhelming. The fresh mahi with couscous was well received and the fish with the ribs was also well received.
3. Our server, from moment one, kept pointing out everything that was wrong. She was loopy from a double. It was hot on the deck. The air conditioner wasn't working. She was out of the draught that one of the other people in our party ordered, came back to see if he wanted anything else and then forgot what he ordered and had to come back again...she did comp that first beer. She didn't have change so we had to pull out our credit card.
Seriously, we had a good time and enjoyed our meals. Go in with a sense of humor and it will be a good experience.
