We visited here in October of 2010 (I'll log this as far back as I'm allowed). By that time, Banjo Creek had been taken over by the bank and was being run by someone else under the name of Zooland Family Campground.
It seemed like a good choice for camping near the NC Zoo, so we booked a night there. I had checked out their facility map on-line to see that there were, in fact, tent sites. Well, when we arrived, there was a huge open field with one pop-up and way over on the other side were the tent sites, next to the creek. Then over the ridge, there was a huge metropolis of RVland. This campground apparently doesn't get the occasional non-RVer, but they should!
It was a very nice campground with pool (not open at this cold time of year), rec room, snack / store / registration building, and a jumping pillow (which the kids really enjoyed). We said that a pop-up/trailer site near the bathroom would be fine, but they insisted that the tent sites were better for sleeping on, though it all looked like grass to me.
We enjoyed our night and the jumping pillow and it was convenient to the zoo. If it's still being run under the name Zooland, check it out.
