Having just returned from a two night stay at the Bent Creek Lodge it is highly recommended. I took my parents for there 50th. Annevarsary and we were very pleased with our stay. The owner took care of us including our Biltmore Estate entry tickets so we had no stress.
The lodge is comfrotable and relaxing, with easy access to walking trails of the national forest. The rooms were very nice and well decorated with area and state theme's. The provided breakfast's were excellent and filling, different but not to exotic for those of simple tastes.
The owners Doug and Jodee were super nice and helpfull providing recommendations for local resturants and Attractions. Overall Bent Creek Lodge is a great stay if your looking for a relaxing B&B away from the husle and busle of the city.

Spent 3 nights at the Bent Creek Lodge and would not have wanted to stay any other place!! I've stayed at a couple of other Bed and Breakfasts in Asheville before and none of them come close to the Bent Creek Lodge! We had some friends stay at the Grove Park Inn and after seeing their accomodations ( and the bill) I truly believe that we definitly had the best place in Ashville!!
You can't beat the location, being minutes from everything: Fine dining, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Biltmore and some really great hikes! the owners Doug and Jodee are more than happy to offer any suggestions on how to spend your day, or night. I, personally am so bad with names, but those two will meet you once, never forget your name and make you feel like they've known you for years.
The lodge is absolutely beautiful, tucked away on a mountainside so you get the feeling of "getting away from it all" but yet your no more than 15-20 min from anything you want to do!
I HIGHLY recommend this place and if and when I ever go back to Asheville, I will stay here. No doubt!

My wife and stayed at the Bent Creek Lodge for our one-year wedding anniversary in October of 2007. It was just a four-day weekend, but it was one of the best trips we've ever taken. We can't say enough good things about Bent Creek. I was not a huge Bed and Breakfast guy, but this place has changed my mind. It is a lodge in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina that is exactly the kind of place I would build and live in if I had a cabin in the woods.

We stayed in the Fern Room which is downstairs and at the far end of the lodge, so it's great for a little extra privacy. It was separated from the other rooms by a sitting room with TV, books, snacks and drinks. The room featured a wonderfully comfortable king-size bed under vaulted ceilings with a ceiling fan. In the bathroom was a two-person jaccuzzi that was wonderful after a long day of hiking or sightseeing.

Right outside was a large deck with porch swings and rocking chairs overlooking the gardens and the mountains beyond. It was the perfect place to have a little quiet time in the morning.

The breakfasts were wonderful! I enjoyed the fact that it was not your typical breakfast, but interesting new twists on tranditional favorites. I loved the yogurt stuffed French Toast with homemade granola! All day long, there are homemade biscotti and brownies available by the kitchen. Yum!! I think I gained 5 pounds!

Doug and Jodee are the perfect hosts too. They got us tickets to the Biltmore and simply added it to our bill so we didn't have to wait in line once we got there. They also gave us great recommendations for local restaurants - you should eat at the Boathouse at Lake Julian if you want something really nice. The personal service was something that was really nice. We'd come "home" in the evening and they'd ask us about where we'd gone that day and give us tips on things to do tomorrow.

All in all, it was a wonderful place to stay and I'd recommend it (and have) to anyone who wants a getaway into the mountains! We plan to go back soon!

The accomodation character and atmosphere really made our trip, Perfect place to escape to for a R & R mountain vacation. I don't think Asheville would have been experienced to its fullest without our stay at the Lodge. My husband and I loved the perfect balance of privacy and socialization that really allowed for us to unwind completely. The 2 dogs greeted us for a walk in the woods upon arrival, yummy cookies, tea, coffee, water, soda were always available, and breakfast was unbeatable! Within miles of challenging bike trails -- allowing us to return to the Lodge quickly when our bodies did not allow us to peddle any further. Thanks again to the hosts for a great stay. They seem to have the idea of a B&B vacation perfected.

  • Liked — Quiet and relaxing atmosphere that was well-cared for with all of the personal touches that make the B&B experience better than a hotel/motel stay
  • Disliked — Some of the other guests were annoying-- they turned on the TV onto Headline News financial report during breakfast-- very loud so as to compete with the sounds of everyone talking amongst themselves.

This was our first time to stay in a bed and breakfast and it was certainly an enjoyable experience. The lodge had a great location, just minutes from the Biltmore. The lodge was very well kept. The room was well decorated and clean. The breakfast was good and the afternoon cookies were a nice touch. We had a great stay, we just wish it could have been longer. I will certainly reccomend Bent Creek to family and friends.

We had a wonderful stay at the Bent Creek Lodge. The place combines the best features of a B&B (friendly hosts, homey decor, wonderful breakfasts) and a larger inn (plenty of room to spread out and lounge inside by the fireplace or out on a variety of decks, hosts' living quarters well-separated from the guest rooms so we didn't have to feel we were intruding). The snack area, with homebaked goodies and a fridge full of drinks, and the binder full of menus from area restaurants plus a basket of envelopes with tear-off slips of directions to each one, were lovely touches. The pool table downstairs and the library full of well-chosen books, plus the very pleasant garden outside, really lifted this place above the run of the mill. Best of all, our little room combined rustic charm with all the conveniences we could have asked for, from an ironing board and iron to a radio/CD player to a selection of children's books. All of this, in a beautiful natural setting, feels like a home away from home.

  • Liked — Pleasant seating areas (indoor and outdoor), wonderful breakfasts
  • Disliked — Very minor quibble: views blocked by tall trees
