“Just not quite right”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

I have stayed at many County Inns over the years and like the chain. This one looks nice form the outside but things are not quite right... The front desk lady tried hard but... The pool was way too warned the jacuzzi was broken. The pool area was not ventilated and instead and outside door was proped open allowing access to the full hotel to anyone who wandered by. The air conditioning in the hallways labored away but could not keep up. The breakfast was so so. Average. The cookies were good but the popcorn burned smelling the lobby up pretty badly. The bed was ok but I sure tossed and turned. It too sure why. The GPS took us to the wrong place so we,tech for that. We decided to cut our stay short and move to the Fairfield up in Greensboro. Good call on that one. While I had great hopes for this property, things are just not quite right.

I decided consume my club carlson points for my stop in Greensboro. This is the only one Country Inns near Greensboro. I agree with other posters that this is the standard Country Inns. I noticed few negative things in the stay. I will stay in the nearby Fairfield Inns next time and would avoid this property as much as possible. I think the rates are very comparable.

- Room was not cleaned thoroughly. Bath tub had several female hair, room phone was sticky with something. The fitness room was little bit gross. The occupancy was less than 50% when I visited the property.

- The boiled eggs, bread of breakfast offerings were packaged with zip lock bag. It made me wonder whether they do this for keeping these longer in the fridge.

- Club carlson gold membership was not recognized at all. FD clerk even tried to give me a first floor room near an elevator.

I would recommend stay in other places nearby when you visit the area.

What more do you need from a hotel that is conveniently located about a mile off of I-85 near Highpoint, NC. Near restaurants and gas as well. Room was as pictured on the site. Clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was exceptional for the whole trip. They also offer a reasonable pet fee (dog under 25 lbs) of $15.00, which is affordable for those of us traveling with pets. Offer a breakfast in AM (did not use), and an indoor pool. You'd be happy with the stay here and would meet all expectations as described. Kudos especially to the front desk staff for making this place better than expected.

We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites while traveling through NC on July 6, 2012. Everything was very pleasant, from the very friendly front desk staff, the rate, the room, the beds, to the free breakfast. We arrived during the night around 1:30 AM, and the desk clerk was great. Easy checkin, very, very clean room and facility. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Close to interstate with easy access.

The Country Inn and Suites was a great stay at an affordable price. We were in town for a wedding and didn't go out and explore around the hotel, but it is located within a mile of several fast food restaurants and right off the exit.

The king size room was very affordable, clean, and pretty large. The bed was comfortable, though my husband complained about the pillows (I slept fine). The room came with fridge and microwave. Clean bathroom with great hot water and water pressure. The lotion and shampoo/conditioner was vaseline and pantene pro-v brands, which I appreciated.

The continental breakfast was tasty-omelettes, waffle maker, cereal, grits, biscuits and gravy, and assorted breads. I would go earlier in the breakfast times as it was not refilled closer to the end. The front desk staff was friendly and accomodating. Would stay again.

Attractive and clean hotel, very comfortable. Breakfast was far above average with choices such as scrambled eggs, sausage, egg burritos which changed each day, along with waffle makers, bagels, etc. The hotel was full when we stayed for 3 nights and there were some technical issues with reservations, for us and other guests; however, we did receive a comp for one night without even asking. The fire alarm went off very early due to something burning in the kitchen, and another guest said that had happened 2 nights previously also, but it was quickly cleared. We would definitely stay again.

What a great deal for a nice hotel. Reasonable prices, nice breakfast, clean and well presented rooms, exercise facility, indoor pool, library, etc and wonderful service. Can't ask for for more. Will certainly use this hotel chain for future short stays.
