We booked this trip through Mark Warner, with the main aim of totally switching off and relaxing. It couldn't have been any better, and is only a 45 min coach transfer from the airport (though it feels like the middle of nowhere!).

The hotel grounds were gorgeous, packed with colourful flowers, the room was cool, really clean and very comfortable (with brilliant powerful showers!), and the room facilities were great (daily top ups of shampoo etc, big mirrors, and a built-in hair dryer).

The food for the entire week was absolutely superb. The breakfast buffet is enormous and runs from 7am-11am, followed by lunch from 12-2pm with snacks available throughout the afternoon, and dinner from 6pm (and earlier I think for younger children). Every meal we ate was delicious, and with more than enough variety. We were genuinely spoilt for choice!

Although we don't have children there are amazing facilities for any age, right up to clubs for teens. In spite of the large number of families, we were amazed by how little of the children we saw, as they abandoned their parents for hours on end to play with their friends and enjoy organised activities.

The hotel and Mark Warner staff couldn't do enough for us. This trip was everything we wanted and more - an absolutely perfect getaway week!

The location of the hotel could not be any better for someone seeking relaxing time. The hotel offers nice & spacious rooms with balconies, we had a room with sea view that was breath taking. The food was fine and the general service was good however the service in the restaurants did not exisit, to be fair this is a problem with most hotels offering all inclusive deals.
Ask for a room with sea view and watch the magical sun set while sipping a drink on your balcony

Room Tip: Find a waiter in the restaurant and tip him before you start your meal in order to get some attentio...

A superb location for a lazy waterside holiday. Rooms comfortable with the biggest kingsize bed we have seen. The Mark Warner team were excellent and we learnt to sail quickly despite our middle age and lack of fitness. We also enjoyed kayaks and snorkelling in crystal clear warm waters. Those experience sailors enjoyed good sport and provided entertainment for the rest of us. It's hillside location created plenty of exercise just to move around, much needed after endless eating opportunities at the hotels numerous restaurants. The food was mostly Turkish style using local fresh produce, plenty of it but lacking in variety, okay unless you are a massive foodie. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. At Travel Zoo rates for an all inclusive holiday it was a real bargain. We made many new acquaintances and had a great time. Being off season meant plenty of space and no queues. The weather was great for October. They hadn't experienced rain for six months yet the gardens were a green delight. The neighbouring timeshare resort of the same name is also owned by Hapimag and can be used but its not part of the all inclusive deal we were on. It was much busier and very popular with our German friends. Here you can also waterski, wakeboard and hire other equipment.
The wireless connection was a bit feeble in places but enough to get by for email and web browsing. We went to Bodrum one afternoon by bus, which was as far as we ventured. it was busy and bustling with life around a huge harbour marina. There are plenty of walks around the resort including up the small mountain directly behind the hotel. To be honest we just loved the place overall, the atmosphere and the people and would return happily. What it's like in high season who knows, but in October it was divine.

Room Tip: The rooms are in three storey blocks set in the hillside. It's a 5 min steep walk from the recep...

Some reviewers had us scared before we left regarding the food. While it wasn't amazing food, it was definitely decent with enough variety for all of us to find plenty that we liked. The Turkish wine was ok, nothing great (and didn't expect much from other Turkish wines i've had), and the beer (Efees) was also fine – cold and plentiful.

Wasps: they are definitely a nuisance but I can't see how the resort can do much more to reduce their presence. They certainly didn't spoil the holiday.

The staff were very friendly and amazing with our 1 year old. They love kids and that comes across as total genuine.

We didn't use the child-minding facilities but people who did that we spoke to were very pleased with them. We didn't use the sports facilities either but would if we went again.

The tempertature was ideal when we went (8-15 Sept), the main pool temperatures were pleasant (~26C), though the children's pool by the children's centre was considerably colder and not really usable, which seemed a waste.

The room was a good size, lovely (Block 2) and the cleaning staff were pleasant and helpful too.

Sea Garden was just the tonic we needed. Good flights and transfers there and back. Our apartment was spotlessly clean with everything in good order. Resort staff were polite and helpful especially Mark Warner employees. All aspects of the resort are withing reach but be warned that there are many steps wherever you decide to go. No problem for the young and active but some less active would find it a struggle. Plenty to do for all ages especially watersports. Most of the nightlife was in "Little Bodrum" which was in the resort but again up many steps. All inclusive in most respects but beware the "wine list" if you choose buy anything rather than the house wine ( a bit rough but gets better the more you drink) There is a local bus service into Bodrum itself which is a must. Men, treat yourselves to a visit to a real Turkish barber's and have a haircut and the works - an experience in itself! while your other half immerses themselves in the shopping boutiques. The weather was perfect all day everyday. Would definitely consider going back but next time for 2 weeks

Room Tip: Top floor of the lower apartment blocks close to sea and breakfast restaurant. Less floor noise from...

We have no complaints about the resort, food good and varied (don't expect bacon or pork) attention of the Mark Warner staff on site is excellent and always available to help. The sea based included activities were well controlled and adequately taught to novices (felt very safe).
Since the location is around 30 mins from Bodrum and no adjacent alternative facilities you tend to rely on the superb on time bus service and trips offered by the Akustic Tourism on site rep who took part in airport transfers and was introduced as part of the Mark Warner Team. We booked two trips with her, but on a visit to Bodrum found that the prices charged were up to 50% more than could have been booked in the town and all included hotel pick up.
Although the Jeep Safari was supposed to be English spoken guided, our driver's English appeared limited and he spent most time on intercom with the other Jeeps and on his personal mobile. The other trip was conducted by the Akustic rep and was done very well with a really good included lunch.
We reported our concern over the relatively very high price and received very little sympathy or action. We are not novice travelers and expect a degree of mark up from on site trip sales but felt this was a touch extortionate.
Don't let the above put you off an otherwise very good break, just be aware. It is worth noting that Euros and Sterling are readily accepted and the local exchange rate for Lira is far better than in the UK.

Room Tip: maybe ask for a see view, but rooms all good with an enormous comfortable double bed

Just returned from a week at the Sea Garden Resort, we travelled with Mark Warner holidays,BA flights from Heathrow, flights and transfers both ways were trouble free, the Mark Warner reps were very good especially Darren. The hotel is not the 5 star it rates but a good 4 star, however it has everything you expect from a good hotel, rooms were good and cleaned daily to a good standard, staff were very friendly, the food was fine, however we found the restaurant food much better than the al a carte restaurants, the fish restaurant was also very good.
I was a bit dissapointed with the all inclusive drinks selection as there was only Wine, Beer, Gin, Vodka and Raki, no local equivalent of Brandy, Whisky, Bacardi etc. If you wanted Brandy, Whisky, Bacardi or Cocktails you had to pay for them. The Brandy was 38 Turkish Lira about £13, nearly all of the A I packages that we have been on have had these included as standard.
The Hotel is in a wonderful location, but I would not recommend this hotel for those with moblilty problems due the amount of steps or steep inclines leading from reception and rooms, had to go down them every morning for breakfast, and up in the evening to the restaurants, and then more to where the evening entertinment was held. The hotel do run a shuttle service to and from various parts of the complex, which definately helped.
I would recomend the Sunset Bar on the beach where you can sit and relax whilst watching a stunning sunset over the bay.

Room Tip: Makem use of the shuttle
