“Great holiday can't wait to return”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013

My sister and I spent 2 weeks at La Blanche Hotel in October and had a fabulous time. Staff were courteous and helpful and our room was very spacious and clean although on arriving we found we were on the ground floor with no sea or pool view, however, we could hear the sea and our room was very quiet and convenient for the pool and beach areas. The hotel is in a brilliant position and is only a short stroll from the shops, bars, restaurants and marina. Turkish people are extremely friendly but you have to be prepared to barter for everything you buy. This was a really pleasant experience in all the shops but not at the market. Traders were pushy and a bit rude.

The evening entertainment provided at the hotel was a bit lacking although the team were full of energy and enthusiasm. The boat trips provided by Billy and his team were excellent and were full of good clean fun for the whole family. Highly recommended. We went on 3 boat trips. I would also recommend the Turkish bath experience - not to be missed.

The main restaurant in the hotel was very large and busy and bright but on the whole the food was good and the desert choice was to die for. We visited the 4 a la carte restaurants which were all very good but the Turkish one was our favourite. The bars also gave a great selection of drinks and cocktails and my sister was delighted to discover they had Dry Martini and lemonade.

There is so much to see and do and we did something most days whether it was the local flavours tour or a day trip to Kos, hiring bikes or a boat trip to Gumishlak - the choice is endless and we loved everything and hopefully learned a little too about the Turkish people and their country.

We loved our stay at La Blanche and look forward to returning next year for another fun filled 2 weeks of sunshine.

Stayed with my wife during the last but one week of the season starting on Oct 24th. I was going to review this hotel at length but having read the recent reviews, particularly that of midlandtraveller32, I think I can be more succinct. Everything midlandtraveller32 has said is just about spot on. However, I would go slightly further and say that as this is the end of the season the staff seem to have given up. They all seem to be waiting for the place to close so that they can all go back to their families. I don't think I've seen one bar person offer service with a smile since we got here..... yes we're still here!
I'm not surprised that the hotel gets good reviews from people who have children as the place has more children than a resort specifically targeted at families. They all seem to like the animation team. The kiddies disco is held in the main bar at night so you can't even have a quiet drink and conversation due to the excessive noise of the birdie song and other timeless classics! During the evening there are kids running everywhere, many without any parental control. This is supposed to be a Thomson Platinum. I know this is possibly beyond Thomson's control but if it's this bad then downgrade the hotel. As we travel extensively, every six weeks, we are of the opinion that it most certainly is not a Platinum. Nowhere near, not even close!! If you try and get a fried egg when it's omelette day you've got no chance. They will not cook you any other egg other than what is pre-determined for that day. I witnessed a lady and a child ask for a fried egg for breakfast. Their request was treated with disdain and a point blank refusal as the cook told them "no fried eggs, it's omelette day". Quite petty you may think but surely at a Thomson's Platinum you can get a fried egg on any day not just Monday, Wednesday and Friday or whatever day is 'fried egg day'. We didn't particularly like much of the food but you can't please everyone. The hotel is quite quiet and at meal times the restaurant is horrendous. I can't even begin to think what it's like in high season.
In brief: Beautiful location, lovely rooms, very clean, impressive looking hotel. However, scratch the surface and you soon find that it does not live up to its Platinum status. We won't be back.
Ps....... If you do go, read the comments book at customer relations, some of the reviews are hilarious... many refer to the food!!

We travelled late September and stayed 2 weeks, first impressions when arrived to check in was wow, check in was speedy (we arrived at 3am).we had a quick drink in the lobby bar whilst our cases was taken to the room.

Our room was a disabled room,I was surprised how big the room was.everything we needed apart from tea making equipment, which we knew about and brought our own.the only problem we had with the room was the bathroom after having a shower there was a lot of standing water on the floor in fact some puddles in places,we saw the guest relations team and really couldn't resolve the problem until the hotel closes for winter we made do with getting extra towels to make a dam,I'm surprised no one had complained before as it's a slip hazard especially people who hare disabled.our room was cleaned everyday but not hoovered everyday.

The pools was massive and clean and I loved the disabled lift to get me into the outdoor main pool(this as sold me the hotel for next year).the hotel was cleaned to a high standard, good selection of drinks at all the bars, the grounds was great beautifully tended to.well one of the best parts of the hotel was sitting at the beach bar looking at the sunsets watching the world go bar,the beach is clean and it's own lagoon is another selling point.

The food was ok,never bored of the selections on offer abit repetitive, but that's all hotels in general,we ate at the Asian didn't like it,but the turkish was excellent.snack bar had a nice selection of food, can't really comment on the entertainment has we only saw the orchestra once.

Wow the staff was fantastic from the cleaners to the bar staff, restuarant staff equally good.for me the guest relations was the best we have ever come across,so helpful I had a puncture on my wheelchair, they sent it into town and repaired it for me and I borrowed there's until mine was fixed.many thanks for this

This hotel is very wheelchair friendly and must have been about 10 wheelchairs at any one time( the only downside there are only 4 disabled rooms)

We used mehmet to go to bodrum market €10 really good value

All in all the disabled facilities and the excellent staff sold it to me for next year, the only bit corcerning me about booking is the uncertainty of not been garanteed a disabled room

See you next year la blanche family .kind regards mr and mrs houghton

Room Tip: We had room 3210 a disabled room close to reception

My partner and I stayed at La Blanche in September for 10 days but we have only just round to writing this review:

Positives:
1) Had a superior room, it was very nicely decorated, clean, adequate storage & massive in size. Definately worth the money!! We had a pool view towards the back of the hotel (where the front entrance is) and it was very quiet of an evening.
2) Surprised by free wifi, free safety deposit box & free minibar of soft drinks (which is stocked up daily). Which you usually have to pay for in some hotels. Also we didnt need to wear a wristband for all inclusive which was a pleasant surprise.
3) Hotel pool was lovely, great size, clean & great pool for kids (or adults and lilos!!) with the waterslides (when it was quiet). Beach was a great setting, clean, plenty of room for sunbeds. The sea was lovely too.
4) Our Thompson reps Danny and Dani made our holiday. They were fab, informative and helped us make friends with other couples in the hotel. Best reps we have ever had and an asset to Thomson.
5) Food was great very varied, the A La Carte Italian was amazing (we went twice) as were the Mexican, Oriental and Turkish. It made a nice change from the main restaurant. Chicken kebab at the snack bar was delicious & the ice cream was to die for!!
6) The sunsets were out of this world.
7) Uggi or "Paparazzi" as he is known takes the most amazing photographs and we would definately recommend booking a photo shoot with him. He was one of the friendliest staff at the hotel and always smiling. He had us in stitches laughing with his personality and clumsiness.
8) Great location for the marina, bars and shops (about a 10 minute walk).
9) We were really impressed with the hotels attitude on recycling and saving the environment. It would have been nice to have recycling bins in the rooms as well though.
10) Great selection of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and cocktails on all inclusive.

Negatives:
1) It would have been nice to have padded cushions for the sun loungers as they are a bit uncomfortable and many lower star hotels we have stayed at have offered this facility.
2) Some people used their own towels as well as the hotel beach towels to reserve sunbeds in both the sun and shade which seemed a bit unfair. I can imagine in the summer it is hard to get beds.
3) The staff are not very friendly (apart from reception, photo kiosk and the bar staff). Several times in the restaurant we had to ask for cutlery and get our own drinks as we were ignored! Also, the animation team didn't speak to us once during our stay.
4) The Thomson Platinum cruise was not as advertised. Seemed like a standard cruise but that said it was a lovely day and very relaxing.
5) We felt a bit hassled by people selling things by the pool, Billy the boat man was relentless and seemed annoyed with us when we booked a cruise through Thomson but it suited us as he finally left us alone.
6) Access to the market is a quick walk from the hotel but be careful about bartering too low (go halfway as a minimum) as one Turkish trader started a fight with us and was physically and verbally abusive which ruined the experience (this is my fourth visit to Turkey and this incident was a first).

All in all the hotel and location are amazing. We had a brilliant time and would definately come back again or recommend it to friends.

Just returned from a late getaway to La blanche
Weather was fantastic for the end of October
Hotel : In a fantastic location with outstanding views right on the beach
Rooms: Lovely clean massive rooms we had a pool view which was fantastic , bit concerned if you got a room at back of hotel as half the rooms are rear facing because view's didn't seem so great of neighbouring hotel and road
Free safe and plenty of tv channels showing English football live for sports fans
Food : Buffet restaurant was fine found something to eat everyday lot's of choice
Snack bars were very good during daytime especially the Mexican
Turkish al la carte was lovely and the service of waiters was exceptional
Seafood al la carte was ok sea bass was well cooked vegetables not so good
Never tried Asian or Italian !
Bars : good service and plenty of choice and lots of bars to choose from beach bar with its fantastic views being our favourite
Pool : massive with loads of sunbeds to choose from
Beach was great clean in its own marina lovely setting
Negative's : Entertainment was shocking with the exception of Dasher the infectious girl that does the belly dancing and aqua gym
The rest could all take a lesson from Billy the guy who sells the boat trips in hotel on how to engage with customers, in him they have a real asset hang on to him and learn from him
Spa treatments : Advise would be start with selling the basic package we loved the basic Turkish bath when visiting another hotel last year but was put of having anything because of the hard sell of oil massage package so put more into the basic Turkish bath and you will sell more in my opinion
I would guess 70% of the guests are Dutch but we found them great holiday companion's
To sum up great Hotel well done to the La blanche team see you again in the near future
Rgds David & family

First impression when we arrived was its not a very nice looking hotel. The first thing we noticed was how many kids were running around therefore it was very loud, the hotel was very clean as was our bedroom. We had a superior room overlooked the pool and had a lounge area on a lower level but the negative about the room air con not very good, and the daily cleaning was poor, only made the bed, and gave us clean towels, did not not clean the carpet or balcony once while we were there. Did not go much on the food at all, they do not separate smokers from non smoking in the buffet restaurant which we are not now used to, so only used the restaurant for breakfast which to be honest thought there should have been more choice. The €10 charge for the Italian was not worth it, Asian - is not what you expect, Turkish is the best. Great restaurant in village Lapikant try it great food. Sunbeds round the pool are very cramped so used the decking by the beach which was great nice breeze. Plenty of pool towels, wouldn't go back to this hotel but would go back to Turkey, you must have Turkish bath they are to die for

Room Tip: Pay for upgrade many people complained no storage room in the standard/Family bedrooms

We travel on average three times a year, I dont always leave reviews, but I do extensive research on Trip Advisor before I book anything.I welcome peoples honesty and seldome take note of aggresive negative reports, just returned from holiday at this hotel so here goes.
This is my honest opinion of this hotel, it's staff, food and ammenities.
Firstly - this is a beautiful hotel in a stunning location, spotlessly clean with huge bedrooms, comfortable beds and very quite at night. The rest of the hotel is equally as clean and staff are always cleaning some area of the hotel.
The hotel has the best ammenities I have seen for people using wheelchairs and also for families with pushcahirs.

The food in the main resturant was very hit and miss catering mainly for dutch german and russian -remeber this is being sold as a "platinum hotel 4* plus"- we are not fussy eaters but beleive me we struggled some nights to get anything other than a bowl of soup and a salad roll- however lunch time at the pool bar and italian were very good - Sort your food out La Blanche and you would move from Good to Great. Drinks at hotel are at best " average"

We found some - not all of the staff almost hostile and unwilling to answer any queries -unless they were trying to sell you something usually a boat trip -or a massage -we wanted a turkish "scrub" and were practically told this was not on offer - but could be incoporated with a full massage! they lost a sale on that one! Billys Boat Trip is a delightful experience - very over sold - in fact nothing like the glossy "flyers" he hands out - but worth the £20- did find same trip cheaper just down the road - but what the hell it's only a few pounds. You are "spotted as a newbie" the day you arrive and targeted into submission! Another big problem is the way the staff literally "letch" over the female guests and appear to turn into "preying mantis" at night - very seedy! To the management team - sort this out it's embarrassing to say the least.

Market day is on a saturday in Turgutries and is a must - as is a visit to the shops just down from the Irish Bar - Adam Sandler lookalike owns these shops and he is well worth a visit - very good to do business with.Turn right out of main recepction and follow path all the way into town - about 10 minute walk
Duty free can be bought on the way in at airport - ideal for items you can pack away for return journey.
I cannot emphasis enough that this is in a beautiful spot and you will not regret going - just dont expect too much food wise! We will return to turkey but not to this hotel

Room Tip: Our room overlooked pool - very quite at night
