We got back from La Blanche on the 30/9/2011 after a fabulous family holiday. We are a family of five , three children aged 14,9 and 5.
Originally we had booked two rooms as we were five. However on arrival at the hotel we found out at reception we were in a family suite, room 7309. What an incredible room it was.! it was on the second floor and consisted of two huge interconnected rooms .We had two balconies overlooking the pool and the sea with Turgetreis Marina in the distance. Two superb bathrooms with brilliant showers, two mini-bars, massive sliding wardrobes. Cleaned perfectly every day. These were the best rooms we have ever had as a family by far. More than we had ever imagined.

Swimming pool was massive and just superb. Getting a good sunbed spot took a bit of effort! although there are lots of beds.

Beach area was really good, built around the hotels own 'harbour' area with the Italian/Beach bar on a pontoon in the middle. The sunsets from here are mind blowing, the best we have ever seen, every night. The magical stuff from which dreams are woven. Very safe to swim in and lots of water spots on hand. We tried the Hobie Cat to Cantel Island with a cool French Instructor for 25 Lira-a bargain.

Food was fantastic-all made fresh in the hotel , including the breads . Massive buffet style restaurant with themed evenings to keep it varied. They do a slow cooked lamb leg dish on the Turkish Themed night which is lambsational ! The desserts are amazing and about 1000 calories each. Be warned you will put on massive amounts of weight. Although its buffet style when you find a table you will be served your drinks. Try and get down early to get a table near the sea to catch those sunsets. After 8pm it gets busy quickly.

A La Carte Restaurants make a pleasant change from the main restaurant. The Italian was great and worth the small extra surcharge. The Turkish one was also superb-I watched the Sous Chef cook some of the food and he was brilliant. Some of the best Turkish Food I have had ever.!( we went twice).

Animations team were simply the best. They have worked all over Europe and it was a pleasure watching them . Very Professional. The host for the evening ampitheatre entertainment spoke 10 languages. What a talent-and very funny. The kids club girls were fantastic with my two daughters-they would leave us for two sessions some days and loved it all. Thank-you so much.

The staff at the hotel were possibly the best of all. Very well trained and very polite and many spoke several languages very well. Please learn some Turkish -they appreciate the effort .The bar staff even made cocktails for you . Try La Blanche Dream-stunning. Branded drinks were available and always served with a smile. Efes Beer is the best.

Cleaning the hotel was an army of people. One day at the reception area I seen them lift up the sofa's and clean underneath. The cleaning of glass went on all the time, you hardly ever seen a finger mark.

The boat trip from the hotel is great fun, one trip goes North , and one goes South. We loved them both . The boys running the trip were a great fun. Thanks toTitch and his friends near .the beach for booking us on board.

We could go on an on about this hotel .It really sets the standards for a top class all inclusive hotel which has it all and I think it is great value for money. We have never went back to the same hotel before but this may well be the first.

Many thanks to all the staff at the hotel from the management , through to the bar staff, the animations team, the cleaners. We cannot praise you all enough.

Room Tip: High floor room overlooking the pool with seaview are good. Interconnecting family suites are superb...

This was my first trip to Turkey, I'd heard mixed reviews about the country it seems people either love it or hate it! We stayed at La Blanche for one week and we loved it, we went for a chill out sun holiday and that is exactly what we got. The hotel cleanliness was at a very high standard, the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to help and the food was beautiful. We spent most days sat out on the jetty looking out to sea at a spectacular view. We chose to use the hotels own boat trip rather than the one organised by First Choice, apart from the fact it was a quarter of the price, it was simply a great day out we were taken round the South Coast of Bodrum seeing some lovely sites and swimming/snorkelling in crystal clear water, the crew were friendly, funny and helpful making it a brilliant day. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and advise them when they go to see Billy or Titch and arrange a day out on the boat as it is thoroughly enjoyable. We both had an amazing time!

We stayed here for 1 week in may, hotel and spa both excellent, spa do great deals. hotel and rooms decorated to a very high standard, rooms are lovely usual tv channels but several English speaking. pool amazing. fridge replenished with cold drinks everyday all inclusive is very high standard includes all cocktails and even Baileys ;) Turkish restraunt a must, beautiful food!

didn't really experience night entertainment as went out and about instead, usual stuff I think, plenty of daytime entertainment, loved laying on the deck on the breakwater (nice breeze off the sea) sunbathing tbh!

location ideal a 10 min walk to resort which is small but plenty of bars and restraunts, market on sat is busy (watch your handbag as pickpockets do operate) usual torist shops. 20 mins from bodrum if you want more.

We arrived at la Blanche to find that Thompson wanted us to have 2 bedrooms 5 rooms apart. With having 3 young children this was not acceptable. The receptionist told us that as we hadnt requested 2 rooms together (even tho we had 3 young children and booked with a door between 2 bedrooms) then they thought it was ok to have 2 rooms 5 doors apart. The room they gave us was beautiful as we had a stunning sea view with 2 big bedrooms with a king bed and 2 sofa beds and one fold up bed in another room. They did move us the next day and couldnt appologise enough. When we arrived in our room we had 2 bathrooms and 2 king size beds and a pull up bed. We still had a sea view over looking the retaurant which could be noisy at breakfast time with scraping chairs.
I cant fault the bar staff. They are so friendly, especially the 3who always seem to be in the sports bar including who we nick named "elvis" but i think he was called salvo were fantastic. In this day and age our children were safe to go of and be chidren which was a lovely feeling.
The sunbeds in the morning were a headache. As it was end of the summer holidays we found heading into the 1st week of september we were having to get up at 6am to get 4 beds. People were putting towels down all day and not coming back until 5pm!c This waas not fare on those who were wanting a bed. If you have small children who are not relaxed in deep water then beware as it is all one depth with no shallow end. I would say this was only the down side. They had a small pool with slides but when the slides were turned of their was children climbing up them as nobody was around. I was suprised at the depth of the pool that their was no life guard as it was very deep and i was on my tip toes and im only 5ft 3.The sea was lovely but again you had to be up early to get a bed.
The food was as what you would expect in an all inclusive hotel. i was shocked that you had to pay £10 pp for the italian reataurant as it was supposed to be an ai hotel and extra for fresh orange juice at breakfast.
The kids club was a little bit of a let down. I found it was all geared up for girls aged 7 years and below. If you have a boy who is 8+ then i wouldnt bother which is a shame as it is a gd way of making friends. I suggest they do activities for boys like football. archery etc and dont have such a big age gap from 4-12 years as its too big and probably why only 2 young children were in their which in the school holidays in not good.
Overall we had a gd holiday. Very clean hotel, gardeners worked very quick and hard, bar staff fantastic, entertainment team were very good and always smiling, deserve more than just a sunday of.f How ppl can moan thay have one day of a week working 18 hours a day i do not know. Bedrooms were beautiful and very big. Swimming pool lovely and big, ideal if you can swim. All differnt ages were their with differnt nationalities including dutch, russian, french and english.
Would reccomend :)

This is one of the nicest hotels and areas we have visited. Cannot fault anything. The food was amazing, so much choice even the fussiest eater would find something. The al a carte restaurants were amazing and all the staff were so friendly and made you feel so welcome. The hotel grounds were exceptionally clean and beautifully and with direct access to the beach its a perfect location. The animation team are continually running activities day and night with something to suit all. Turgurtries is only 10mins walk and that was buzzing all nights. A Turkish bath is a must and the hotel run boat trip was a lovely fun day out. We will be back!, Any negative comments about the hotel must be unrealistic expectations!!

My husband and I have just got back from a week staying at the La Blanche resort and spa in Bodrum and we can’t speak highly enough of the hotel.

As with anything there is always room for improvement and I thought I would start with that first.
• The poolside can get quite slippery so make sure you wear shoes that have a good grip. The first day I nearly went flying but I changed the sandals that I was wearing the next day and I was fine. I did see plenty of kids falling over though as they were running by the pool so accidents are inevitable really. Having said that there is mesh matting all around the pool to aid in grip and the hotel staff are very good at sweeping away excess water during the day.
• Sun loungers can be quite difficult to find. The first few days of our stay the hotel was still quite busy and we struggled to find two sun loungers next to each other. After a few days the hotel seemed quieter and we had no problem finding sun loungers. The hotel does have a policy of removing peoples belongings from empty sun loungers although we did not see this enforced (but to be honest it wasn’t really necessary although maybe when they’re really busy it would be required).
• The air conditioning in the room could have been a bit cooler for our liking. We had it set to its coolest setting but on one particular evening my Husband and I both struggled with the heat.

I have to say that the things I’ve listed above were all minor things and really I’m nit picking just to come up with a few areas for improvement.

Everything else was brilliant.
• We arrived at the hotel at 2am in the morning very tired. Despite about another 4 or 5 parties arriving at the same time to be checked in there were no delays. Check in was run like a military operation and in no time we were settled in our room.
• We had a lovely room overlooking the pool – very spacious, plenty of storage space, good sized bathroom, nicely decorated and most importantly clean – with a daily maid service.
• The food was surprisingly very good. Having never been on an all inclusive holiday before we’d heard food would probably not be great but it was. The main food area had breakfast, lunch, dinner and a midnight snack. There was also a snack bar near the pool and 3 or 4 a la cart restaurants. In our opinion the food was plentiful and of good quality and variety. The desserts at dinner time really were amazing. We also found the service from the staff very good.
• The bar – Husband was happy enough drinking local beer and I was very happy with the cocktails. We got alcohol drinks from the snack bar by the pool during the day and then had a few drinks at the lobby bar after dinner.
• The entertainment team was very good. There was entertainment during the day (games in the pool and dancing lessons etc) as well as family entertainment in the evening. This wasn’t really our cup of tea although if you went as a family I’m sure this would be very much appreciated.
• You will inevitably have Billy and his friend coming round on a daily basis asking if you want to go on a boat ride. We didn’t find him a pest. In the end he knew that we weren’t interested but would still come and say hello to us each day and have a little chat but refrain from the sales chat.
• We didn’t use the spa except to shower on the last day after we had checked out but from what we saw it looked nice.
• The swimming pool was amazing. I have to say it’s probably the best pool I’ve ever been in. It was absolutely massive, very clean and a very welcome respite from the heat.

My husband doesn’t really like “beach holidays” and normally favours city breaks although he’s already talking about booking again for next year (and we don’t normally go back to the same place twice).

One word of caution in relation to the airport. It is very, very expensive. On our return journey I didn’t feel very well and needed a sweet drink like a can of coke. It cost 12 Turkish Lira’s which is the equivalent of £4.27!!!
