“Superb location and facilities, enjoy!”
Reviewed July 7, 2009

Having never been all inclusive, nor to a hotel as large as this with kids club I was slightly apprehensive as we normally go to small, quiet self catering accommodation so this was the complete oppositeof everything we previously enjoyed. My fears were totally unfounded! Granted when we arrived (late at night) I was disappointed that the carpet on the 2nd floor was badly marked and although we had a large room it had a tiny balcony and also the usual slight damp smell associated with the air conditioning. However the balcony in reality was never an issue... we were hardly ever in the room...there were so many other lovely places to be! The marks on the carpet turned out to simply be bleach/ cleaning fluid which had obviously dripped from the maid's trolley. We had a fantastic time and loved doing the water sport activities. Food was freshly prepared and plentiful and staff were very attentive and helpful. We never really found the restaurant or at the buffet too busy which I had thought might have been a problem. The views from the hotel were to die for. Entertainmentwise, we were not that bothered about the evening shows but the Turkish evening was well worth going to see. Definitely a real possibility of returning next year (almost unheard of for us!!)

I really could not fault this hotel apart from perhaps the disco and the entertainment venue when it was held indoors.
The hotel is in a great location, 3 nice speciality restaurants and 4 bars. Staff all very pleasant in the bars. Tables in main restaurant did not get cleared very quickly and were a bit basic and restuarant staff not particulary pleasant. Food was sometimes a bit boring but could always find something to eat as there was plenty of choice.
The rooms were kept very clean but the balconies were a bit small but did have a lovely view.We were near the Starlight Bar which was open at 5 and had a great view and staff.
This hotel was the best we have stayed in on the Bodrum peninsula but is not quite 5 star unlike the ones in the Antalya region.
I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel or going back.

We have just come back from 2 weeks at Aegean dream...this was the third time we have been but the first time on our own. Everything lived up to our expectations and there were many things that had been improved upon since our previous visit like better variety of food, and more food freshly prepared while you wait. Popcorn for the children and ice cream every evening after main meal. Well it was good enough for us to book again for next year, along with my son and daughter- in-law who have also been there before...

Just returned from this resort and it is what it is..... a typical all inclusive..turkish style! It really winds me up that some people have winged about this hotel. What do people want for an average of £50 pp per day??? This is how I see it. the rooms are spacious, clean and modern, believe you me I have stayed in some hell holes for a lot more money! We had a small balcony overlooking a hedge, but who cares I didn't go to stay in my room apart from sleeping and shower time. It was quiet with air con and we got a good nights sleep. It was cleaned every day with the towels and bedding replaced. Food... several choices available at breakfast, lunch and dinner. People complained it was repetative how many main courses can they eat in a day?? there was always a minimum of 6 main course choices per sitting, I personally never ate the same thing twice apart from salad...I like salad! The waiters were hit and miss with their service, but always polite and friendly. We tried all three a la carte restaurants...beautiful. Bars you have plenty of choice all with friendly efficient staff. Go to the starlight bar to watch the sunset...magical. Entertaintment....the guys worked really hard and there was plenty to do, personally I went to lie around all day doing nothing. The pool area is a nightmare for sunbeds, not enough and unless you intend to get up at 6am to reserve one , forget it. All the activities were around the pool and as I did nothing was quite happy to use the beds on the beach where it was quieter and there was plenty of shade provided. We went on two boat trips, one with thomsons and with the guy outside the hotel, the best one for us was with the little guy. Never went in the spa...got put off straight away with their hard selling. there were lots of people there who had returned year after year and I can see why, me personally no but only because there are more places to explore. Go there and enjoy but take it for what it is and you won't be disappointed.

spent 10 days all inclusive at the aegean dream mid june, the location is perfect right on the beach and 10-15 minutes walk by the sea to Turgutries town.
couldnt get a sun bed next to the pool becuase i was not prepared to get up at 8,this didnt matter though becuase there where plenty of beds on the beach with ample cover if you need it. the beach ran parrallel with the pool and the pool bar was only 25 yards from our beds on the beach .
the hotel was very clean and the staff are all very friendly, the entertainment team do a good job on a limited budget.
the only thing that let the hotel down for me was that the room i was in was over the reception area and lobby which was over the hotel disco so it was very noisey.
the hotel food was good obviously there wasnt any english food but what there was was nice and i particularly liked the italian restuarant.
make sure you visit the starlight bar after dinner for drinks and a fantastic sunset.
i would definately like to return to the aegean one day.

We just came back from a 1 week vacation to Aegean Dream Resort Hotel. We were a party of 6, mother, father, two kids of 2 and 4 and 2 grandparents.

Overall we liked the place and certainly worth for the money we paid in this all inclusive vacation. We did like that it does not feel crowded, it is very well arranged with the restaurant area between the rooms and the pool/beach. Food was OK and I am quite spoiled with good food. The "a la carte" restaurants are even better, try to book every night at one of them, we managed to book 2 nights there but rules are a bit unclear, better wake up at 10 in your first morning there and book for your entire stay.

The all inclusive relates to local food of course, luckily they consider Coke local or something. Otherwise the quality is good but variety not so much. Alcohol is also local which means it's not that good, except the Efes beer which is fine. However, in a cocktail the drinks taste better.

There are many outstanding things about the hotel but it's easier to spot where it is lacking in quality. The rooms don't have some of the stuff you would expect at 5 star like coffee/water warmer, slippers, robe. The rooms are or average size, not small, but certainly not large (we stayed in the regular rooms, not the "Dream Select" ones. No wireless internet, I find this insulting, luckily the resort down the road La Blanche had free wireless internet so I could get some bad connection on the balcony.

The activities team was not that great, we attempted to watch one show ("Alladin") and it was so lousy we left in 5 minutes. The activities begin at certain times during the day, like 11am for the Darts and shooting, noon for pool dance, archery at 3pm or something. Now you will only do these activities if you are at the right time in the right spot, the members of the team just pop up five minutes before the activity is scheduled and start with 3-5 people then vanish in 30 minutes when the first batch of people is done. Watersports are free but only if the sea is very calm and you can choose between the banana and the water-ski. The guys running those are only present at some time of the day, I tried to ask questions twice and could not find them. There's also scuba initiation free but they of course want you to do pay for some more advanced stuff.

As others have written don't go to Ephesus or Pamukkale with the excursions, it takes a tremendous amount of time for the incomplete 2 hours visit to the actual sites. Better rent a car and spend 4 hours at Ephesus plus 4 for the ride then take a tour which will switch you from a minibus to another and to various commercial bazaars for 8 hours to get 2 hours in Ephesus and tell you afterwards, you only saw a quarter of the site.

The boat trips around the islands are something to weight carefully, at least go to the Turgutreis port to see the boats before you pay, you probably want an enjoyable experience and I was not sure it was warranted. Do go to the Turgutreis bazaar on Saturdays (20 minutes walk), it's entertaining even if you are not planning to buy anything.

The areas for the kids include a 30cm deep pool partially shaded, a playground, some sort of aquapark for 7-15 years old, and a daily mini-disco routine at 9pm which both my kids loved. Also staff is very nice with kids.
Despite all of these it's a very nice place, I would go back there and I would recommend it. I would also try the neighboring La Blanche resort for a comparison.

My fiance and I, along with 7 friends, went to this resort after a trip in Istanbul to get some rest and relaxation. Upon arriving at the Bodrum airport, the hotel met us with a nice large air conditioned van that took us on the hour drive to the resort. The drive was gorgeous along the coast and there werer several small farm towns along the way.

When we arrived, we were greeted in English by the staff and our bags were immediately taken to our room. Check-in was fast and simple and they gave us our all-inclusive wrist bands. Note: we happened to lose a wrist band during the trip. Don't worry though, the front desk is very considerate and provided us with a new one.

Our room, which was their lowest level of rooms, was huge with two beds, nice tv, and a stunning view of the grounds overlooking the Aegean. The Greek Isles could be seen in the distance and sunsets were spectacular. The room was always clean and the staff could be called throughout the day to turnover the sheets if needed.

The beach was calm and clean. Staff members literally combed the beach every morning and evening to clean it up. There were plenty of umbrellas and lounge chairs although not enough cushions so make sure to bring towels to the beach (obviously).

Since we were there relatively early in the season, the Aegean was still nice and cool, perfect for a refreshing swim. We took the Jetski's out several times and were taught how to windsurf. We also booked a boat cruise to a neighboring island with a fresh fish lunch and drinks.

The resort is all-inclusive. Some people have different definitions of this term so let me explain. There are several bars located throughout and around the hotel. You can order whatever you want and it's free. There are also beer taps and a wine dispenser operating at all times. There are several soda machines and water coolers. The main restaurant and pool restaurant almost always had food when we wanted and if not, there were assorted snacks in the afternoons. A woman by the beach made fresh gosleme (Turkish pastry).

For dinner, there are three private restaurants, two of which are open each night. You have to make reservations at these but they are still included in the room rate. There are no extra charges for these. I recommend going to each one but their Turkish restaurant (not surprisingly) is by far the best.

The town of Turgutreis is a ten minute walk down the beach and offers great shopping and nightlife. The bus into Bodrum for the nightclubs is very easy to use and cheap.

The resort is amazing. The staff is extremely accommodating. As for the negative reviews, vacations are what you make of them. And if you can't have fun at an all-inclusive resort on the beaches of Turkey, you probably shouldn't be going on vacation at all.
