After researching many hotels in Bodrum, I found this one to have many good and consistent reviews. After spending a week here I can understand why the reviews are so good.

On arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the look and grounds of the hotel and we were greeted promptly and pleasantly by the porters and hotel reception. The transfer time directly from Bodrum airport was around 30 mins and we arrived at 9am in the morning, although check in was not until 12pm we were offered breakfast (which was lovely) and a room by 10:30am. The room was large enough for 3 people and was very clean and tidy. There is a fridge which was stocked with water each day and soft drinks on the first day. There are no kettles in the rooms but there are plenty of hot drink machines around the hotel, which are available until 12am.

The food and main restaurant was excellent, so much choice! - breakfast includes lots of breads, preservatives, cereals, continental foods, eggs, pancakes, sausages etc. Lunch and dinner included plenty of meats, fishes, pizzas, pasta, salads, vegetables, cakes and desserts. There was something for everyone and we did not find it repetitive. There was also a pool snack bar which included salads, chips, burgers and cakes. The A-la-Carte restaurant is only open between May and October so we did not get to try it. There were about 4 bar areas which served great cocktails, spirits, wines and soft drinks. All inclusive drinks were available until 12am at the bars and 2am in the disco bar.

The pool areas, private beach and grounds were kept clean and tidy at all times, the staff work extremely hard to keep this hotel well maintained. There was a large pool with more than enough sun loungers and a nice little kids pool with slide. The private beach has water sports (extra charge) and free pedal boats. The indoor pool, gym and spa area was great and definitely ideal if you visit at a time when the weather isn't that great. There is also a good playground, games room, and play area for children including a kids club. There was a Turkish bath and beauty parlour which we did not use, so I can not comment on them. The hotel has a lot of areas including the lobby and terrace where you can relax, watch tv and pick up free wi-fi.

All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and always went out of there way to help you, Max, Hakan, Daniel (the entertainment guys) and Yunus (restaurant waiter) were particular good with everyone. The entertainment was good. There was a mini disco for children everyday at 9pm, with family shows and quizzes starting at 9:30pm, daily fitness and sports games and themed nights. The hotel had a mixture of European guests who were also very friendly and the staff catered very well for all nationalities.

There is a small shop in the hotel for bare essentials (closes at 10pm and has limited stock), there are no other local shops or anything else nearby or within walking distance of the hotel, so for shopping and entertainment you would need to travel in to Bodrum which is 10 mins away and can be reached by using the local bus which runs every half hour from the top of the road/hill. The fare is 1.5 Euros or 3TL each way (Apr 2013), a taxi costs between 20-25 Euros each way (very pricey for the distance) The hotel is at the bottom of a steep hill, so the location would not be good for someone with mobility problems. I would also point out that the lighting on the hill is not great at night, so the bus option may not be suitable for everyone.

I would consider myself to be a particular person when it comes to hotels and I can honestly say that I had a lovely week at this hotel. I will definitely revisit and would not hesitate to recommend it. This hotel is great for familes and couples but if you want to be in the heart of Bodrum or want a clubbing/lively holiday, then its probably not for you.

We just came back from this wonderful hotel.
Everything is perfect. The food was excellent. Many different Turkish specialities everyday. Waiters very helpful, so quick and always smiling. The hotel is always spick and span and we could appreciate the lovely view on the swimming pool and the bay. We also rented a car for a day to travel around the peninsula via Marmara. It's really worth it and you're free to visit what you want. At the mini club Lyncia is absolutely lovely and my two girls miss her very much now!
Animation also very good. Try the petanque in the afternoon on the sand and enjoy!
Excellent spa too and the massages are delightful ( with mousse in the Turkish bath!).
Even children can try and have fun. A special mention to Hakan and his very relaxing massages! Thank you again :)!
I would highly recommend this hotel. We came back to France with wonderful memories!

Great holiday, but first i think i must comment on the staff: from the garden staff to the managers they are the best i have meet. They were always smiling and polite nothing was ever too much trouble. The animation team ( Daniel, Max and Harkan) were great and friendly encouraged everyone to join in.Will miss everyone .... food was fresh every day and plenty of selection. We could hold a dance in the bedroom it was so large. There really are no words that can be said..just seeing is believing.Take a week out and go and stay at the Samara. Take care all of you.

Just returned from a 7 night stay at the Samara Hotel. We had a Turkish massage which was amazing to begin the holiday. The hotel had excellent facilities and the staff really couldn't do enough for you. Even topping up drinks! Plenty of food to choose from in the restaurant and the food was plentiful. Freshly cooked bread on the premises which was delicious. The hotel was very clean, towels and bedding changed daily and we were even given a card to exchange for clean beach towels daily. The animation team worked hard day and into the evening to keep us entertained with activities during the day and shows at night. A special thank you to Max and Daniel - Mum is really going to miss you. We have very found memories of our stay and would like to thank all the staff who worked so hard to make our stay so special. Would definitely recommend and would return again.

Great hotel... Has its own beach which is great particularly in the morning... Among flush green pine forests.... The best food one can find in a resort.... The room sizes are also good... Close to Bodrum where all entertainment is but totally a peaceful place to relax and enjoy sun and sea....
