“Peaceful, good value with delightful surroundings!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

This is a lovely hotel if you like peace and quiet! If you are looking for a hotel with entertainment every night this is not the place for you. Perfect for us as it attracts the calmer clientele. A lovely mix of Turks, Italians, Greeks, French and a few English families when we were there the last week of July. The family suite was perfect for 3 or 4, it was cleaned every day with fresh towels. The only slight downside were the hard beds, especially the sofa bed.The Hamas on site was fab, highly recommended, although of course more expensive than the local Hamas in bod rum it is more attentive and the bonus of being in the hotel. The food was just lovely, all freshly made very day and typical Turkish so you sample the local cuisine very day breakfast and evening.. We will hopefully be visiting again next year despite the fact we never normally go back anywhere twice!

Room Tip: 1802... With a lovely view of the pool yet far enough away that it wasn't overlooking the bar, a...

Hotel Zeytinada is set on a very busy road....but don't let that put you off! Once inside, you really cannot hear the road at all. It is made up of a number of very attractive stone clad appartments and family suites, all set around a beautiful pool. There are plenty of sunloungers with parasols and complimentary towels. The whole complex is beautifully landscaped and full of lovely plants and flowering shrubs. The Dolmas bus picks up opposite the hotel and runs every 15 minutes like clockwork and only costs the equivalent of a £1.00 to go into Bodrum.

All of the rooms have balconies and although there were only 2 of us, we decided to go for a suite rather than just a room as it has a separate sitting room which was really nice. The room was decorated in a very tasteful and contemporary style with a comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom with a huge double shower and great water pressure. The WIFI connection was pretty good although a bit inconsistent at times. The air-conditioning was lovely and a real life-saver at times!

The staff are very friendly and helpful and can't do enough for you. They seem to work tirelessly to ensure that everything is as clean, tidy and relaxing as possible. English is not widely spoken although this wasn't a big problem and generally you could make yourself understood.

Opposite there is a really great supermarket, where we made regular trips to top up on wine and beer for the room ;0), and five minutes walk down the road you are in to Torba which is a lovely and very laid back little fishing village which has a long narrow strip of beach with plenty of sunloungers and parasols which are owned by the local cafes, bars and restaurants. You can either hire them for the day (for about £5.00) or buy food and drink to the equivalent. A word of warning....the beach and the sea bed are covered in very sharp stones which are virtually impossible to walk on with bare feet so get yourself some jelly shoes or swimming shoes because the water is lovely.

There have been some negative reports about the Voyage hotel but we didn't think it particularly encroached on Torba and there are plenty of water sport activities you can pay for with the Voyage. Personally, I wouldn't bother with the "private" beach that the hotel buses you to....you have to wait to be picked up, it drives you to the other end of Torba which means a long walk back to the hotel if you want to go back. Go and enjoy the friendly local bars and cafes!! We really liked Torba beach...it's peaceful and the views are stunning and it's only a short walk back to the supermarket, cash point and hotel.

We went right at the beginning of August and although it was hot, there always seemed to be a breeze and some evening there was quite a strong warm wind, but it was very nice. The hotel seems to attract a lot of families with younger children and babies....this wasn't a particular problem for us but the children do stay up very late and tend to run around the tables in the evening which can be a little bit annoying at times...there tends to be a lot of large inflatables in the main pool also which can restrict swimming but these were just minor irritations. There were mainly Turkish and Dutch people holidaying, a few French and even fewer English but personally, we didn't mind.

The breakfast and evening meal were open buffets. There was plenty of choice and on the whole, the food was of a good standard. Chicken, beef, lamb and fish were all served at some point, some evenings they did barbequed meat and there were plenty of salads but the hot vegetables were bit disappointing, over-cooked and soggy. Always plenty of cheeses and fruit and deserts and omelettes on offer every morning, cooked to order. A tip.....don't leave going to dinner too late as although they serve it until 10:00 pm, you tend to get left with the dregs!!! There are a few cats that hang around the tables but as a cat-lover, I didn't mind at all!

The Spa looked lovely but we didn't bother with it. In Torba, there is a great little excursion booking agent called "Danny", who we organised all our trips with....a lovely, honest and very funny man who like all Turks, works long hours and very hard. We did Ephesus (great), Kos day trip (don't bother....you will spend hours queueing at passport control both sides and Kos Town really is aimed at the 18-25 age group!), boat trip round an island (great) and got a free turkish bath thrown in at a Hammam in Gumbet (now that is quite an experience!!). We went to Bodrum a couple of times which is a really great city full of charm and colour.

Through chatting to local people, we soon realised that although the cost of living is low, the average wage in Turkey is really small and the tourist season is relatively short,so dig deep and tip whenever you can as they will really appreciate it. We met some really lovely Turkish people working in the bars and cafes and overall, I would say that the Turkish are really friendly people.

This was our first trip to Turkey and we will definitely go back. It has a lovely climate, beautiful scenery, low cost of living and the Turkish people do all they can to make you feel as welcome as possible.

Room Tip: Go for a suite if you can, it's worth paying a little extra for a lot more room.

We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights from 27 Jun to 6 Jul 2013 with our 4 year old daughter & 4 month old baby. We had a family room which was very comfortable and nicely decorated. (Just to warn others with a pram/pushchair there are quite a few steps to get around the hotel, but we managed fine). The pool area was lovely and we really enjoyed the food - lots of Turkish style salad and enough hot food to chose from. There was always something that my 4 year old could eat. We had read previous reviews about the lack of fresh orange juice at breakfast so we knew what to expect, I ordered a fresh juice from the waiter every morning which we paid extra for, but we didn't mind as we felt the half board rate that we paid through Thomson was excellent value for what we got. I cannot rate the Spa highly enough! I had 5 different massages by the 2 Thai girls and they were the best I've ever had! The sauna, Haman and jacuzzi are all free to use and this was an added bonus to our holiday. The beach bar and jetty that the courtesy bus drops off at was great too, the sunbeds are free as long as you buy drinks/lunch and the food was really nice & fresh. The only negative about the hotel was the service could definitely be improved. The staff are very nice, however the food at lunch time took a long time to arrive and sometimes there was confusion with the language barrier as most of them only speak pidgeon English. Our room was also cleaned quite late in the day on a few occasions and 1 day they knocked at 7 pm to clean the room so I had to turn them away because we were getting ready for dinner, which was quite annoying when our bins were over flowing. The floors in the room could have been cleaner, but nothing to put you off. We hardly saw any insects or Mosquitos the entire holiday which was great. All in all it is a lovely hotel with an excellent Spa for that extra bit of relaxation.

First holiday with my girlfriend couldn't have been better. The beautiful surroundings, pool and fantastic service ensured a perfect stay. Our room was very comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the pool, adding to the luxury the hotel offered. We would highly recommend taking advantage of the free shuttle to the beach, where the jetty and sunbeds, along with the delicious food and welcoming service, offer a very relaxing day out. Everything the hotel offered contributed to a romantic and relaxing holiday.

Me and my boyfriend went to Hotel Zeytinada in mid June. We couldn't believe the price we paid for the quality, facilities and service we received. It is newly renovated so the style is lovely and fresh. Lots of flowers, plants and pretty dragonflies. Rooms are always pristine. There was a free transfer to the beach club nearby which was really lovely, we spent a lot of time there too -fabulous food. The thai massages offered in the spa were lovely, the do them outside too which was really nice! Good gym and spa facilities on offer and free. Only thing that wasn't perfect was that there were stray cats around at dinner, but due to customers feeding them- the staff shoo them away. Personally not a cat lover...
Other than that a perfect, relaxing holiday -would definitely recommend!

We were absolutely delighted with our choice of hotel. The Zeytinada is a great change from the high-rise & brash hotels that seem to be the norm these days! The rooms were very comfortable (we had a suite) and offered everything we needed, apart from tea & coffee. The pool area was wonderful-calm & relaxing and very pretty. The breakfasts were good and the evening meal (which was part of our package) was fairly good, if a little predictable. The staff were outstanding-always helpful & friendly and a credit to the hotel. We would certainly go back again. It is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the sun. I can't recommend it highly enough although I would suggest that the steps around the hotel, some of which were not well lit, might make it difficult for older people.

Room Tip: We had a suite which was close to the Pool and loved it. But none of the rooms are far away.

This is my second visit to Zeytinada. The rate I received booking in February was fantastic value - around £25 a night dinner, bed and breakfast. The hotel is beautiful, a green, cool haven even in the heat. The gardens, olive island in the pool and climbers adorning the buildings are what makes this place so appealing, with the lovely pool as the centre point. The rooms are very functional with good beds, bathrooms and lovely balconies. I chose a room on the third floor so could open the door at night rather than have the air conditioning on, and I enjoyed the sounds of the village - the Imam calling at dawn, the chickens scratching in the surrounding gardens, people walking to work - the outside world. The inner courtyard with pool all is quiet and luxurious and the staff are very friendly and caring, making you feel very welcome. The food is good quality, with a delicious mezze selection each night with a variety of Turkish and western main course dishes on the buffet with lovely desserts and fruit. Breakfast has everything you could possibly desire!

My only reservation was the reception (!) where the staff were not as friendly or helpful this year, their English was not fluent so misunderstandings occured. I am not a traveller expecting English to be spoken in foreign countries, but in a hotel where many of the visitors are English speaking it would be appropriate that those welcoming guests and assisting in making sure that the stay is smooth and working out details, should have a good command of the language.

The Voyager Resort hogs quite one side of the bay, both on land and through the beat that emanates from it, but once away from there the front is quaint with lots of restaurants with loungers on the beach that you can occupy as long as you buy a drink or two through the day. There is a harbour at the end of the bay.

We were there before the main holiday season and it was perfect!
