Just returned from our stay at the Petunya. The food was very good, tasty and varied. I couldn't fault any of the staff at the resort. Everyone spoke and tried to help in any way. The rooms are small but are immaculate and good value for what we paid. Our child is 2 years old and used the baby pool, family pool and the play area and kids club all the time. It was a god send!! The all inclusive drinks are good too. You can have anything really. The arcade which hires out battery operated cars for small children is a very good idea too. Overall, I would definitely return to this hotel. This is our 4th stay in Yashi Beach and this s the best hotel for the area in my opinion.

Room Tip: Get the photos done with the photographer if you want some mementos. Great value and the man doing t...

Myself, my Mum and my friend stayed at the Petunya Beach Resort from 2nd-9th June. Overall we had a nice relaxing holiday in the sun.
Firstly, the good bits about the resort:
The all inclusive food was great, very varied every day and plenty to chose from and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly although most of them did not speak much English.
The resort is right on the beach and a beach boy is always trying his best to help find you a sun lounger and an umbrella.
The adult pool was nice and relaxing and there was always plenty of sun loungers so no need to get up really early to reserve them!
The entertainment team (Ata, JayJay and Tim) were good fun and always trying to get everyone involved and ensuring everyone was having a good holiday. If it weren't for them we definitely wouldn't of had such a good time!
Also, Ferdi the Quest Relations guy was very helpful and whenever we had a problem or wanted to know something he was always the one to go to sort it out.
The town is small and basically just a strip of shops along the beach but nice and quiet.

Now for the bad bits about the resort:
We agree with other reviews that there were very few Brits in this resort and a lot of Russians who spoilt it for us due to their ignorance and poor manners! Especially at meal times when they seemed to think it was necessary to pile loads of plates full of food and then hardly touch some of it! They also didn't understand how to queue and would constantly push in.
Our room was ridiculously small for the 3 of us but we later discovered (on our last day) that you could get a bigger room for 3 people and we regret not changing at the start of the holiday.
Every morning from 6am we were woken up by our Russian neighbours slamming their doors and kids running in the corridors!
Sun loungers on the beach get reserved really early by others putting their towels on them and then going off to breakfast and sometimes they wouldn't return all day.
The reception staff weren't very friendly and their English understanding wasn't very good.

If we returned to Petunya Beach Resort we would definitely ask for a bigger room. On the whole we did enjoy our holiday.

Room Tip: Our room was 5212, it was a good location, the set of rooms closest to tall the amenities. It was ju...

Our water was cut off twice during our 6 days there, so no shower (the rude front desk guy told me to go have a shower on the beach!!!). There was no chance of getting any sleep because the rooms are built so that you can hear everything from the outside and from the corridors and the foreign guests loved to slam their doors starting at 5 am.

Food was good, but always the same. Now, the reason I wouldn't recommend this hotel to any Brits is not because of the food (I'm sure plenty can handle a continental selection) but because of the manners of other guests there, or lack thereof. The hotel was mainly full of Russians, Ukrainians and Kazakhstan people who seem to have never heard of the meaning of such words as: "adult pool" (kids were throwing rocks into the adult pool without the parents telling them off/ babies in (normal, not swim) nappies taken there); "dinner que" (do-as-you-likey attitude).

Entertainment staff was great, but the explanations for the games took way longer than they needed to so we were bored half way through.

The cultural differences were too much to handle for us, specifically with the Russian's attitude to manners and parenting. Turkey, however was great. I'd come back but not here. Not much to do in Ortakent.

Room Tip: You can't sleep anywhere in this hotel, so I's suggest camping on the beach!

My family and I had a real bad experience in the Moonstar Hotel, a few hundred meters down the road from the Petunya Beach Resort. On a walk up the beach front we decided to ask in the hotel if they had any vacancies. We spoke with the manager and explained our delimma and he was more than happy to accommodate us. We were given the VIP suite and we had a ball, unlike the Moonstar where we just came from, the complex was spotless, it had a pool for adults and a pool with slides for the children and a baby pool. The rooms were really nice and clean, the food was lovely and something different every day as well as ample deserts to choose from. The staff where very pleasant and accommodating and very very helpful. We had a real enjoyable holiday here and would not think twice to book and stay here again. Just like to Thank the Manager Fatih for turning our holiday from hell into a really enjoyable one, and thank all the staff for a remerberable stay at their Hotel.

Carolin McReynolds and Family.

Room Tip: You will really enjoy a stay at this hotel.

My husband, myself and five year old daughter visit Turkey every year, generally around Antalya or Fethiye, but fancied a change of scenery this year.We normally opt for 5* luxury that costs a fortune and quite frankly with a child have no need for the luxurious bedrooms or spas on offer. We saw this hotel advertised and saw the poor comments regarding food and thought for the price if it meant eating out a few times it wouldn't be the end of the world. On arrival at 3am,due to an airline delay,we were given an awful room, but with my daughter fast asleep decided to leave matters for the next morning. In the morning we approached reception who immediately organised a lovely room for us,and apologised as only the bell boy had been working the previous night shift.Dubiously,we then went for breakfast and were very pleasantly suprised with the food on offer, all freshly cooked and lovely fresh ingrediants;not the amount of choice that you would get 5*,but ample even so.This continued throughout our stay and we were also impressed with the quality of the wine;by all means not french luxury but pleasant and easy drinking, ideal for the hot weather. The evening entertainment I agree is poor but we made our own entertainment chatting to others and my daughter found friends so it was all good. After having spoken to the management we learnt that the hotel had recently changed hands and that could explain alot of the poor reviews. All in all,we had a lovely sunny weeks holiday, that didnt break the bank, and would recommend this hotel to families that want a good clean place with swimming pools and a beach that you can eat and drink well in a friendly environment.

Room Tip: Families should ask for the rooms with bunk beds as slightly larger.
