“Seaside Hotel and Neilson Holidays”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

Excellent hotel, staff and facilities, don't be put off by the website that for some reason doesn't take bookings, Neilson are aware of it and are working on it. If you want a relaxing hotel for windsurfing in particular then this is perfect. It's not a party hotel but you can head into Bitez or Gumbet for that ask the windsurfing guys..

Hotel was renovated at the end of 2012 and they have made a great hotel even better. Food is excellent, most of the equipment is new and top quality. Free Wifi in the hotel bar and pool area works very good enough for free skype calls back home.

Spent the 1st week of the season here and had a fantastic time, food, rooms, activity staff and equipment all very good. Neilson team are great especially JoJo the fitness lady and Roddy the tennis coach with just the right level of encouragement. Would confidently recommend this resort.

We've been on many neilson holidays, usually travelling early or late season to avoid the influx of kids clubs. It was our first time at this resort and so far feel it is one of the best. Neilson holidays are always great fun, tuition is excellent and staff are always keen to help or advise - if anything our experience here was better than usual! We enjoyed the location of the hotel, quiet yet easily accessible to busier areas allowing for a lot of variety on nights out. Rooms were more spacious than we were expecting, although balconies are more or less non existent. Food was generally very good. We're not particular fans of theme nights or hotel based evening entertainment but we often use them as an excuse to explore the surrounding areas. Excellent value for money in early season.

We have just come back from a very enjoyable week at the Seaside Hotel, our third time here. The staff, both the local hotel staff and the activity instructors, were all great and willing to put themselves out. Our room was spotless and facilities were adequate. The food was very good, Neilson say they have tweaked the menu this year to include more local specialities though I did not notice a great difference. The range of sports on offer now includes stand up paddle boarding, which was a new experience for me and I thoroughly enjoyed it.The water is generally flat in the mornings, good for waterskiing and beginner sailors, then picks up in the afternoon. The hotel is in a peaceful location, but the nearest village, which is full of restaurants etc, is only a 10 minute walk along the beach. If you want to visit the nearest large town, Bodrum, you can catch a dolmus (local bus) from outside the hotel. They run every 15 minutes, the journey takes about 30 - 35 minutes and costs 4.75 Turkish lira one way (about £2).
I am baffled by the final paragraph of the previous review by JoseCamel. I know people have different perceptions, but I cannot understand his reference to 'theme nights, fancy dress and constant meetings'. We have never attended more than 2 meetings, both on the first day, the welcome meeting where the staff are introduced and you can sign up for tuition and the water safety meeting on the beach. The only theme night we have ever encountered is the Turkish night, held once a week, when they have local dancers. They have a prize giving after the last night's dinner, but I'd hardly call that a theme night. We have never had a fancy dress night (thank goodness!) but perhaps there was a group there the week he visited who had especially requested it. At the Seaside Hotel there are no loudspeakers, no talent shows or knobbly knees contests, you are not pressurised to join in any activities. Hi de Hi it is not!

As always the Neilson staff were great. The tuition standard fantastic and welcoming for all abilities.
The food is decent but nothing amazing. Dining in on the a la carte night was a mistake, it was shocking. Bad service, terrible food. We complained and the manager appeared to take us seriously. They comped the bill and apologised.
The levels of kit for sailing and windsurfing are inadequate. There's just not enough of it. Not once during the week did I take out a windsurfing sail smaller than 6.5m. SO there claims to be on a par with Vass appeared to be nonsense. I asked if it was always like that and got it confirmed that the wind doesn't really blow as often as other places benefitting from the meltemi effect.
We got shafted with the room, again. Twice Neilson have put us in the Special needs room without prior warning.
One last point but a very important one: with theme nights, fancy dress and constant meetings the whole week was a bit of a Hi De Hi parody. So if you love the Butlins style of holidaying then this is for you.

We had a superb week in the Seaside Hotel at the end of September 2012.
The place is extremely well run, clean and tidy - and the hotel staff were always very polite and friendly.
The room was pretty spacious; top of the range air conditioning system, fridge, big bathroom - all good.
The food in the restaurant was excellent: a great selection of fresh, quality local produce - olives, feta, fruit, etc. plus mouth-watering Turkish dishes every day and occasional Great British favourites (chippies!). Many veggie options on the menu. Definitely not the usual 'same-dishes-every-day' rubbish you often get on inclusive holiday packages.
The bar staff were also great - amazing cocktails!
The evening entertainment and events were fun - they even laid on an additional table tennis tournament for us!
The setting is very picturesque, quiet and relaxing - azure water, shady trees, a beautiful location.

The only down-side to our stay was lack of wind for the water sports - no fault of anyone's - but the organised classes didn't really adapt to these conditions, which left me feeling slightly disappointed with this side of things.
Notwithstanding this small criticism, the tuition was high quality, and I enjoyed the lessons. Everything was inclusive (water-skiing, even some of the normally premium windurf gear, as it was late in the season).
Would recommend this to anyone, beginner to expert in any of the watersports on offer - and if you're not interested in all that, you'd still have a brilliant time!

I have just had two lovely weeks at the seaside the staff were so helpful especially the reception staff the cleanliness of the hotel was excellent look forward to returning in the future. The child care service was very good and the nannies always had a smile on there faces. The sailing and windsurfing kit was in good order and the beach staff were always on hand to help cannot fault anything.
