Very nice people very good food in the hotel don't bother to eat out you will be disappointed. The pool is lovely the bar staff were nice except one staff you will know who I mean.Rooms not too bad mattress was a bit thin and take your mosquitos killer with you or you can buy it there from khalil shop in the hotel the best thing don't open your window. You have to pay £25 for air condition. £15 for safe but the staff at the reception were very very nice I was so pleased to meet these people
You might find too many steps to go down to the beach but it's a good time to work out and enjoy the good view. Go for the Turkish bath and massage it is lovely but don't just give him your money he is a hard man to bargain with . I recommend you to book this hotel but be sure you use only Bodrum airport not Dalman. Dalman is 4 and a half hours away from this hotel. Bodrum is a beautiful place very good for shopping but nothing is original there. Bargain when you buy. But remember the people there understand us well and they are very nice.

OK, so yes, there are a lot of negative reviews on this hotel, all of which we ignored and decided to kill any expectations we may have had as it was a relatively cheap, and last minute holiday...

There is a review on here that seems to laughably state that the resort is similar to "Fawlty Towers" - Whilst this humour is obviously, well seemingly at least, unfair, it couldn't be closer to the truth.

We arrived after a VERY long day of travelling, followed by traffic jams, delays and more delays. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly reception staff who happily showed us to our room (good start). The room had obviously been recently refurbished, but to the standard of a cowboy tradesman - The door had been kicked in previously and the lock was being held in by filler, the tiles in the bathroom ended about half a ft too short and the remaining gap was well, empty.. The mattress was completely knackered, resulting in something close to a bed of nails, with 2 paving slabs for pillows between us. After being awake for 24 hours this was something of a disappointment. Alas, we didn't let it get us down and continued to unpack. Next up, the air conditioning - I went back up to reception to enquire as to how we turn it on, only to be advised it was an "optional extra" (in 35-40 degree heat - WTF?!) - This costs an ADDITIONAL £25 per week, or 57.5TL. We paid in TL only to be told they had no change and would "owe us" it - We still didn't get it back upon check out. After receiving the remote we went back to the room only to find it didn't work. We rang reception and explained to be told it costs £25 per week... "Yes, we paid that yet it doesn't turn on" - They said a technician would be down in 5mins.. We waited... Nothing. 6 hours later I went back up and they sent someone down again - The receptionist had given us the wrong remote - Problem solved, shame we lost nearly 2 days of Air Con and no partial refund was made...

The meal times are strict and if you are late to one you were lucky to be left a piece of bread to eat - There are some seriously greedy Turks in the resort who make a habit of going up to the restaurant early to seemingly eat as much as humanly possible just to make others go without. The food is extremely basic and bland, so if you are expecting to taste some Turkish culinary delights prepare to be disappointed. Basically, salad, cheese, ham, bread, rice and water melon 3 times a day, with the added extra of cereal with warm milk in the morning and dry, rubbery chicken in the evening.

The "All inclusive" drinks are disgraceful - Everything is watered down to the point of it not being alcoholic at all. Even the bar staff told/made jokes about it, then at 11pm they stop. If you want ANY drink after this time it's an average of 5-15TL per drink, even Cola, Fanta, etc. You are only allowed 2 drinks per person at any time which are usually served in glasses with the equivalent volume of a shot glass.

The evening entertainment is woeful.. Basically, if you're a woman prepare to be harassed into perverse antics which gives the "entertainer" a cheap thrill. It's obvious that everything here is on a shoe string budget and even Bingo costs 10 quid a card. Nothing but disappointment, and most guests spend the night looking envious at the entertainment in the hotel next door.

Health and safety seems to be something else lacking in the Litera resort, or maybe just Turkey in general. Quite often you'd see massive fire hazards - one prime example being the naked wiring next to water. The paths outside the hotel are perilous and I'd highly recommend paying attention to where you walk as frequently there will be a flow of sewage careering down the street, which brings me on to another thing - THE SMELL! Dear Lord, every 20-30mins regardless of where you are in the hotel is a WAFT of toilet related scents. The sewage works around the hotel are basically under a man hole cover and when it gets hot, boy does it stink. This is particularly unpleasant when trying to enjoy a drink.

The "beach" is hilarious - Once you've meandered down the 400 steps (do not go to this hotel if you don't enjoy walking for 20mins down steep steps) there is about 5ft of "sand" leading into a rocky sea bed. It felt more like a man made lake as most of the seating area is made of concrete. On another note it REALLY smells like fish too.. Yuck.

Generally we found everything passable within the realms of what we paid for it, but I couldn't recommend it to anyone. This is definitely one holiday never to be repeated.

i cant believe some of the comments people have left on this website. we were a bit worried after reading the reviews but were open minded as we got a very cheap last minute deal. i have to say the staff were the most friendly and outgoing people we have ever met and went out of their way to make us happy and they certainly did not smell!! the hotel was on a hill overlooking beautiful views of the sea and surrounding islands. there is a lot of steps but walking down to the beach is well worth it. the food was very nice but was a bit repetitive. the rooms are basic but who spends hours in their room when on holiday?? the maid also came daily with fresh towels and to clean the room. this hotel appeals to those looking for a cheap and cheerful holiday. Going on holiday is what you make it if you moan the whole time then your missing out on having fun time and embracing the local culture!!

I am a disabled guy and have problems with motability , yes i read the review but still opted to go , the hotel is just the same as it shows on the pictures, yes there are a few steps but it depends what and where you are going all day. the rooms are basic but clean , maid wasnt that helpful or thorough but the rest of the staff were brilliant , they smile all day long even after having to deal with some of the morons they have to deal with. the food was ample , a bit repetetive mainly salads ( i looked in the mirror one morning my front teeth had grown 2 inches and my ears were tickling my shoulders, he he he , and the meat is mainly chicken , there are snacks in the afternoon by the pool , but there are no choices just what they decide to cook that day. we met some nice people and would def return to the hotel .
I HAVE ONLY ONE REAL COMPLAINT IS THAT FOR AN ALL INCLUSIVE HOTEL IT IS A DISAPPOINTMENT THET THERE ARE NO TEA AND COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES IN THE ROOMS, SO FROM WHEN YOU GO TO BED UNTIL 8 AM THERE IS NOTHING TO DRINK ONLY WATER OR COKE ETC, SO DONT FORGET FOLKS , TAKE YOUR KETTLE AND TEA BAGS I FORGOT MINE WONT DO NEXT TIME

all in all was a great cheap all inclusive week and the towns of gumbet and bodrum have something for everyone
