Having read the mixed reviews for Club Pedalisa, I wasn't expecting too much but hoped that Thomson had selected a reasonable place. My first impression was not good - the reception is gloomy and there is large area filled with dirt in the middle. We were given a poolside apartment but were moved on request as the music blaring out by the pool was so loud. Our 'new' apartment was large and airy but the 'sofa bed' in the lounge area was just a sofa and of insufficient length. The apartment was clean but the bed linen appeared old and stained. The towels were frayed and thin and had seen better days.
We didn't have much call to do any cooking but, if we had, there was very little kitchen equipment. However, the staff were very helpful and we were provided with extra sheets on request. We later found a cupboard at the entrance to our block of apartments and helped ourselves to extra towels and sheets when we needed them.
The pool is large and clean but, if you're not a good swimmer, do be careful as there's no shallow area. There is a notice up asking guests not to reserve sunbeds with towels but this is largely ignored.
We used Club Pedalisa as a base to explore the region and enjoyed our stay in Turkey but we wouldn't visit this resort again. The whole place needs sprucing up and re-equipping and the reception needs a total makeover.

Room Tip: Choose a room as far from the pool as possible if you don't like noise.

Just got home from spending 10 days here and what a brilliant holiday we had, on arrival the reception isn't up to much but once you've gone up the stairs to the pool area and rooms everything changes, the rooms are lovely and clean with your own balcony, the maids are in every day with fresh bedding and towels, which I didn't expect with it being self catering, the pool area is kept spotless by staff constantly cleaning and the bar staff what can I say, they made our holiday, I love going to the beach but the staff made you so welcome we stayed round the pool they couldn't do enough for you, they really put themselves out for you. The prices at the hotel arnt the cheapest but still a lot less than you pay back in England. The hotel is situated about 5 mins walk to all local bars and restaurants and about 10 mins from the busy bar street where ur night life goes on until early hours. If you book this hotel you won't go wrong, I can't wait to go back next year.

The hotel could be 3 star with a little effort. Around the pool is dirty and the kids pool needs cleaning. I tried out a diving mask in the kids pool and below the waterline is disgusting. Also, is it wise to allow proper glasses and bottles around a pool?
The bar staff are friendly enough but could have walked around the pool tidying up and asking if you wanted drinks or anything. The music could be a little loud at times. Cater for your audience Shaun. Not everyone appreciates house music at ear splitting volume.
The reception area is like a wasteland and could do with a bit of planting to warm it up especially in the sandpit in the foyer.
There's no lift so if you have health problems, best to go somewhere flatter.
£5 a day for internet which is a necessity these days and £5 a day for aircon is a bit steep.
£2 a day for the safety deposit box. Reasonable.
Room cleaning is adequate but not completely thorough. And you are only allowed one toilet roll?
You'll struggle to get hot water in the morning.
Location is excellent. But I don't think I'll be back.
Come on Pedalisa. Look at yourself.

Room Tip: Not room 1521 until they fix the broken worktop and get rid of the ants.

We knew the club pedalisa would be a no frills holiday but unfortunately it was just too basic for us.........Our main complaint was the sleeping arrangements, travelled with my partner and teenage daughter. The only air con (Cost £35) available was in the bedroom meaning anyone sleeping in the living area was just too hot.

Sofa bed was not a bed just a sofa to sleep ontop of...and anyone over 5ft couldnt fit on it....all the sheets had holes in them...in our room the matresses in the bedroom were broken so no sleep for us either..very limited equipment in the kitchen area, we had to ask for a knife so we could cut some bread!.............the whole hotel needed a good clean, although our room was cleaned daily it consisted of sweeping the floor and remaking the bed with the same sheets from the previous day.

While we were there someone cut their foot in the pool and on leaving the hotel blood was stilll left on the floor in the reception area from them....the best part of the hotel is the view, very nice at night... as previous reviews state the staff are very nice and friendly although we found michelle the rep to be less than helpful if you actually want to make a complaint.......

After 4 days of a 7 day holiday we all had had enough and we asked to be moved.....think thomson need to rethink this hotel....perfect for teenagers on a holiday away from mum and dad or anyone that doesnt spend any time in their room....not great for families.....club pedalisa could be great but unfortunately its really poor.

Club Pedalisa is in a quiet part of Gumbet but still only 5 minutes from the beach and restaurants and about 15 minutes from the lively nightlife. The apartments surround the pool and from the outside look attractive with bougainvillaea growing up the walls . At the end of our 10 night stay we still did not know who the Manager was. This complex is in need of complete refurbishment. The apartments are spacious and basic but the furniture is tired and ours had stains on it. The kitchen equipment was not complete - we had some cutlery missing. the work surface was stained and the tap moved from side to side! It was cleaned everyday but did need more than just a sweep. The bedlinen was clean but often stained. It was obviously old and needed replacing as were the towels which were threadbare in parts. In our apartment the water was lukewarm in the evening and cold in the morning. The pool looks lovely and there is a smaller pool for children. However, the sun loungers had seen better days and the plastic chairs by the tables were broken. Some of the cloths on the restaurant tables had holes in them. The reception area was gloomy and unwelcoming. If there were plants in the dirt area in the middle it would make all the difference. One of the receptionists could not speak English which made communication difficult. However, the other receptionist was very helpful when we requested rooms further away from the noise which we found loud and intrusive. Club Pedalisa has huge potential but needs to decide which clientele it should aim for then update the rooms, pool and restaurant area accordingly. We felt a clientele of 35+ preferably without children would be ideal. The complex could be advertised as having the best of both worlds; quiet location but near to the buzz of Gumbet.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the bar provide the least noise.

We stayed here for 2 weeks at beginning of sept ,good and bad points as in every place but it wouldn't take a lot to get this place up to a 3*. Reception area just needs a few plants in the dirt area left empty ! Rooms large and basic which is fine but our bath had hardly any enamel left on it ! Not sure is others were the same. Only one sheet given for sofas so I took one as already seen that in a review ! Handles on the cupboard has seen better days too.
Staff are excellent and really made the holiday, we found the food very nice and prices good, the Turkish evening was fab . The complex is away from the noise of bodrum but does have music playing from about 3 pm til late but we were fine with that , you need to be mobile as on a hill from the beach and town, buses are right outside . All in all we had a great holiday , pool is nice and large, people still reserving sun beds although and not being on them til the afternoon !!

Have just returned from this hotel and had a great time but the reviews here do either seem to be love it or hate it. From my point of view the hotel had a welcoming reception and really friendly bar next to the pool. The seating all round the bar and the chatty bar staff means it is easy to get to know other guests. The rooms are average but you do have beautiful views over Gumbet Bay from the higher floors. There are enough sunbeds for all the guests and the pool is large enough and deep. On the less good side the public areas are tired and the rooms are a bit basic. The bed linen could definately do with replacing and the sofa bed is really not suitable for a child over approx 10. Don't rely on being able to cook anything in the kitchen area. Overall if you appreciate the 2 star price and don't expect 4 star servcie then you won't go wrong with Club Pedalisa.

Room Tip: Lower floors are bigger but higher floors have great views. Bar can be noisy I would think
