My husband and I had an apartment with balcony but could not be there at all, cause there were Lout music till early morning. The interieur was old and worn out. NO cleaning at all so the rooms/bathroom was so dirty. We were there 14 days and the floor was never washed. The hotel-beach was as dirty as the rooms with lot of garbage all over. Even with a free offer we wont stay there ever again

We stayed at the siesta beach from the 24 sept to 8 oct, had a really good 2 weeks, staff were very friendly and very helpful, the one not so good thing about the hotel was the room cleaners, they should change them to "bed and towel changers" because thats all they did in our room, nothing else was cleaned, only the bins in the kitchen & bathroom were taken out, the bath, sink, toilet etc wasnt cleaned at all for the whole stay, even black stuff that was along the top edge of the bath between the shower doors became worse as the days went by, as far as stuff going missing, then all we can say is that nothing did, I forgot my mobile phone one day when we went to bodrum and I only realised when we had got there, I thought "oh my god, will it still be there when we got back" needless to say it was...also any change we had after the days out went into a ashtray, even that was never taken, the bars and restraunts were many and all had some really good deals on because it was coming to the end of the season, all in all, a really good time and will probably be going again next year.....thanks siesta for a great time.....

Room Tip: we stayed in room 316, it had a great view of around the bay, a large palm tree hid most of the sea...

We were at the Siesta Beach in the last two weeks in July for what turned out to be a brilliant family holiday. We've been to Gumbet before without the kids so we expected to pestered by bracelet, roses, food, boat-trip, and water sports reps (and this is the only real downside to visiting Bodrum and Gumbet). As far as the Siesta Beach goes we arrived in the middle of the night to a cheery Ahmet who made arrangements to take our luggage to our room. We got the aircon and safety deposit box which cost about the same as everywhere else we had been. We then went to room but couldn't rest so went to bar. From that point on we patronised the Siesta most of the time and had some fantastic times. The food is probably the best in that part of town; I'd say the nearest for quality is the Red Dragon and it is similarly priced. Best thing to do in Turkey is admit you no nothing about Turkish life and culture and ask the staff how life works. We were there for part of Ramadam which mean't nothing until ever wise Yilmaz explained everything. Makes you a bit more considerate when you realise quite a few of the staff can't even have a drink of water during daylight hours. We saved money with the help of the staff and found self catering worked out very reasonable. All the lads who work at the Siesta think a lot of kids and families so they will go out of there way to help. Even the entertainment acts were considerate of kids and tried to involve everyone.
I'd recommend the boat trip via Engin although don't go off his times (he will tell you to be at the bar at 9:30am) ask Yilmaz if in doubt. The lads who work on the Sunshine boat are also really friendly - we learnt about an area in town where people go for Raki and meze - brilliant.
The rooms in the Siesta are a reasonable standard and from what I understand are being refitted bit by bit. The aircon is essential in July/August unless you are Scandanavian and then you basically live on your balcony... A good trick is set the aircon on full whack and close the bathroom door which is always the source of heat in the apartments. You can also have a chat with the cleaners about ways to get the aircon on mid/late afternoon ready for your return in the evening.
It is worth remembering that hotel staff in Turkey are paid very little, especially the cleaners. They see us with money and gadgets, etc. flitting away 10 TL like its toilet paper - although they want you to spend money it helps if you leave a tip or use the apartments facilities or find away to say thanks for helping us out. If you do it right you will get treated like an honoured guest - beds made up with flowers, etc.
I'd also recommend the hamam (Turkish Bath) - barter a good price and get yourself in there in the first few days. It really does help your skin get accustomed to the blistering heat.
We are hoping to go back next year all being well.

Room Tip: Talk to reception and the cleaners and ask for help if you are struggling. Go and see JD or big Zigg...

We had a good holiday but as with others that have written recent reviews we also had some money removed from our room. We overheard people discussing this issue and I immediately returned to our room to find that £5 had been removed from a purse. We had only left the room for two hours and I returned just after the cleaners had left. Hence 2 and 2 make 4 to me. Due to it only being £5 we didn't report it due to the concern that the service we would have recieved thereafter would be poor (as others have reported this was the case for them). It wouldn't have been so bad if the cleaners had actually cleaned. Our bath and bathroom sink plus the floor mat remained uncleaned throughout our stay. After this incident we kept all money on us so had no further issues.
Secondly we found the reception staff in the evenings were ignorant at best. It appears as though you needed to be a young female to gain their attention or the slightest bit of courtesy.
Also I considered the hire of air conditioning and safe for a week was costly at £15 and £30, respectively.
On the positive the top bar views and service was excellent. The room was spacious and noise levels OK. The dolmus stopping outside the hotel meant travel to Bodrum and beyond was simple. It became disappointing if we had to wait a couple of minutes. If only this was the case at home.
Overall Bodrum, Gumbet and beyond offer a good location for a holiday and the Siesta Beach a good base as long as you look after your valuables.

An exceptional holiday coupled with dedicated staff. They were always there for you. They ensured we truly enjoyed ever day .

I found this resort located in an ideal location . The location was offset with amazing views of the beach.

I would certainly return.

Been to Siesta Beach Apartments 3 times, the bar staff are excellent and welcoming.Entertainment brilliant. We did have a very small problem with our room when we arrived but it was resolved quickly, they were so helpful and happy to get it sorted to our satisfaction. Food was excellent. Room cleaned regularly, never had to worry about anything going missing. Love the location, 5 mins walk for the lively nightlife, restaurants and shops if you want it. Beach is directly in front of the hotel. Local buses stop directly outside to take you Bodrum bus station, which takes about 25-30mins. Can't fault any of it, will definitely be going back again. The only complaint i have is the Thomas Cook Rep......didn't see one all week. Love u boys at Siesta, we will see u soon. x
