I can only give a review of the food att this place.
And the food was the best we ever got in Gumbet for the 2 weeks we stayed there.
We lived at Bodrum Beach Resort, and that review can you find under my profile.

Big portions to a low cost, fast service and nice personal.

me and my boyfriend (ages 18+19) stayed at Sami Beach in August 2013, looking for a quiet holiday. once we arrived at Sami Beach we were horrified at the lights and noise during the night, but when we entered our room it was completely silent so nothing to worry about. we felt we had an amazing room (bottom floor, with back door about 20m from pool and front door about 150m from beach).
we stayed for 12 nights and went half board- this meant we got breakfast and dinner but no lunch. the food at Sami was nice, but with some days better than others.
all staff were very friendly and helpful and the reception desk was manned 24hours a day.
the door handle of our bathroom was very difficult to open and eventually got pulled off by my boyfriend. however, we rang reception and it was immediately replaced free of charge. the maids cleaned the room every day and replaced the towels/sheets etc.
Sami Beach hotel entrance is drawn back from a main road, with shops opposite, but this is only where reception is based, rooms are downstairs etc. and the other entrance opens onto a long strip of beaches with restuarants acorss the path. the beach directly opposite Sami is private for the hotel, therefore sunbeds are free and have cushion-type things, which are very comfy.
The Turkish Bath at Sami- definitely have one! they do the baths for couples at a cost of about £28 each but are really worth it. you're never alone with the masseure and they are very friendly and will cater to your needs. its a once in a lifetime experience where you're sliding round a marble table covered in bubbles but you also get full use of a sauna, shower, massage and facial.
Bodrum Market- good for presents but very busy and hot especially as it is inside. was a good experience but would recommend going early/late and not in the middle of the day as it was almost unbearble, and most of the things bought were sold in Gumbet anyway.
Overall- would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! all of the locals were very friendly and Gumbet felt a very safe place. we will difinitely be returning to Sami Beach.

Room Tip: there are 3 floors to Sami Beach hotel, ask for a room on the bottom floor as it is closest to beach...

We stayed at the Sami Beach in early October. This was our first trip to Turkey, and so we were not sure what to expect. The poor reviews on here did make us worry about our visit, but overall we should not have worried.

First, a note about what the Sami Beach isn’t.: it’s not a quiet, get away from it all hotel. It’s centrally located, beachside and tended to be noisy until the early hours. Even at the end of the season the entertainment and local bars were noisy, but if you are the “party all night and sleep all day” types, then the Sami Beach might be for you. Unfortunately , we’re not.

The location is brilliant, bordering the beach on one side and on a busy street with bars, restaurants and shops on the other side. There is a good selection of each in the immediate area.

We had a room with a side sea view overlooking the garden. There were three beds for the two of us, I would have preferred a chair or sofa instead of the third bed, but hey ho, you can’t have everything. There was a “shared balcony” for three rooms, but we never saw the occupants of one of our neighbouring rooms.

There was a shower room, small but adequate, and a wardrobe with spare pillows, duvets etc. There was a TV with multiple channels, but only SkyNews, BBC World were British, but Cartoon Network was predominantly in English, and CNBC has English programmes with Turkish subtitles. A TV isn’t an essential part of the hotel, but it was nice to catch up with news from home on occasion.

We had towels changed every day, and you’ll have seen the shapes that the housekeeping make of the towels elsewhere on this site. The room was also cleaned and tidied daily, to a good standard.

The food was as expected, not brilliant, but there was always something that we could eat. A bit like school dinners really, adequate but not exciting. Actually the salad selection was good, and the cakes were excellent. A shame that some guests ( mainly British to our shame) helped themselves to wedges of cake the size of a small English county.

There was entertainment every night, local and TV based (for those who need your fix of X factor)

The beach bar was quite good, if a little more expensive than some of the other local bars ( for example, a “pint” of draught Efes was 8 TL, ( at 3.1 to the £ ) ; elsewhere it could be had for 4.50 TL. You probably pay a little extra for the view, which is spectacular.

The staff in the hotel we’re all friendly and helpful, although some sort of uniform might have helped, sometimes it was difficult to tell staff from guests and local lads.

Finally, there was WiFi in the beach bar, a little slow at times and with poor range, but many of the nearby bars have WiFi access if you are desperate to check Emails, update Facebook etc

There isn’t a huge amount to do in Gumbet if you’re not a beach lover, you have to go into Bodrum or further afield. The local mini-buses are frequent and cheap ( 3 TL into Bodrum). We took a day trip by catamaran to Kos, which we booked through our rep ; it was good value at £22 per head.

Overall, if you’re a beach and party person, you’ll like the Sami Beach. If you prefer peace and quiet you might not. We had no actual complaints with the hotel, but we wouldn’t recommend it unless you know what to expect.

My partner and myself stayed at Sami Beach Hotel from 6th Sept to 20th Sept 2013. We arrived at about 2am and the whole district was lit up and operating on full volume. The following chain of events repeat throughout the Sami Beach reviews. We arrived at the hotel at 2am Sat morning to be treated off hand by reception with minimal English; shown to a “dimmly lit “room with an obviously urine stained mattress.
We stated that that we were NOT sleeping on THAT. They seemed surprised and said it was that or nothing. No rooms available. We insisted. They said they could place us in a room across the street.
We naturally accepted.
We were shown to a room up two flights of stairs that was above a night club and smoke filled from below.
The balcony sliding door didnt lock and accessed a shared balcony overlooking the main street Ayaz.
No prospect of sleep.
Next morning we saw the day manager who said they cannot let the rooms across the road for holidays for the reasons we had experienced.
He said if we returned 12.30 we could view 3 rooms that were being vacated at 12 noon.
We found a room on the ground floor.
We saw out out holiday from this room. The noise from the bars, which ceased at 4am, built onto the Sami Hotel wall, meant special measures to sleep were necessary.
Temperature 30 to 37 deg C.
Till 4am we had to shut the windows tight, put on the television, one of two English news channels, switch on the air conditioning for both air and background noise.
At 4am I had to get up and reverse the above process.
We came home exhausted.

We were hustled in the dining area, we were half board, at every meal to frequent the Sami other restaurants. Breakfast and evening.
The highlight was Yusef Shen, he serviced the room to a super standard, smiled and was great throughout.
This is a brief resume of the horror, dogs roaming freely throughout the beach area day and night, the cats throught the eating areas, the deafening noise and the constant and insistent hustling.
Sami Beach Hotel is is in desperate and glaring need of refurbishment
Example of the overcharging in the Hotel a bottle of Efes beer 500mm in the hotel 9 tl ( £3) 100 mtrs down the beach 4/5 tl. -Bandits.

Just back from another wonderful holiday in Sami Beach. Really like the location of this hotel and only a few steps to the beach. Had breakfast every morning here and can't find fault with it, had dinner on the beach 3 evenings and really enjoyed it. We went to other places for drinks each evening but always came back to Sami Beach for the last few.

All the staff reception, cleaning, bar, restaurant are great and can't do enough to help

But please Sami Beach do not go All-Inclusive as it will ruin a wonderful hotel. I think it will stop a lot of people who have previously stayed here returning. After all we all like to try out different restaurants and bars when on holiday and not get shoe-horned into the one !!
