I didn't stay at the Sami Beach hotel but did have breakfast there from very pushy staff and after being hounded from ''Captain Stephan'' who has probably never stepped foot on a boat in his life went on the boat trip......DISASTER!!!!!!!!! All was Ok until we went to Camel Beach whilst getting off the boat we were told we would be there for one hour by two different staff members...so my son had a ride on the camel and we had a quick drink and after 25 mins decided to go back to the boat only to find they had left without us!! So after a major panic on my part myself, husband and son managed to get a lift on another fantastic boat!! Once back we went to complain to Stephan and sat there was our bag, they hadn't even noticed they were missing three people for five hours and just thought someone had left their bag!!! We did get half of our money back with no argument but as we paid all inclusive on the boat and then had to pay for drinks on the other this only covered what extra we had spent out. Their excuse was it was windy and they thought everything was back so after shouting is everyone here they left early! NO HEAD COUNT even though we were at the back of the boat with only one other Turkish family so our corner with our towels and bag on would have been completly empty for five hours! SO DON'T BOTHER!!!!

Spent a week at the Sami Beach hotel in Gumbet. Really nice room, very clean and comfortable with great air conditioning, which was needed! The hotel is right on the beach and there is a pool as well, but we didn't go there because the beach was so nice and wasn't at all crowded.

The breakfast was great with a lot of choice and we enjoyed the evening meal as part of our half board option. The lunches were also great and we ended up eating there a number of days.

If a man speaks to you about the Gold Knife restaurant on the beach for a night, definitely do this! The food was brilliant and we were given a table right at the shore edge on the beach. It was a real highlight of the trip!

The only comment I would make is that there is a bar belonging to the hotel just behind it. If you want to go to bed early then this isn't the place for you. However, the noise generally died down around 1.30 in the morning. Most nights I was asleep before then anyway!

I stayed here on 27th July for one week. It was a spontaneous booking and we have been to Turkey 7 times now and we have heard of the Sami Beach but never went so we had no expectations. So the first thing i will discuss is the rooms, very clean and cosy. I thought they were quite dated but does it really matter when they are nice? Spacious, comfy beds and air conditioning. do not get impatient with the air conditioning it takes about 1-3 minutes to actually start up so don't think that it isn't working if it doesn't come on straight away. The cleaning staff were very nice and had the rooms looking perfect for you. I did not like the hairdryer, it was wick. So if you need a hairdryer bring your own sure, the shower was fine but the floor did get a bit wet so don't turn it up full power :) Nice view from the balcony. The pool was quiet, no music playing at all. but if you want to just relax its great. The location of the Sami Beach is just bloody amazing, absolutely perfect! You walk out one door and you are right on the beach and walk out the other and your at all the shops and bars. Brilliant! Staff were lovely and we had good banter with them. Food was nice and it had quite a good selection. Lunch during the day in the restaurant was also nice :D but as i said we have been 7 times to Gumbet and have thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Sami Beach. Also i am 17 and my mum is 49 and we both loved it + my 70 year old granny and granda are also coming next year and i know they will like it so it is for a range of ages. :)

Our actual rooms were no where near the actual hotel but in fact accross the road in a seperate part of the hotel. It was still a nice location with some amazing views but the room itself was an utter disgrace. The walls were leaking, there was literally no space to put any clothes (Had to leave them in suitcase for the duration of the holiday, the door to the ballcony had no lock, the door had broken glass and half way through our holiday the aircon stopped working. We asked them frequently if they could solve our problems and time after time they failed to show up.

The location of the hotel couldn't have been better, right next to the sea (awful beach), 100m from the local clubs/bars and bang in the centre of Gumbet.
The staff were all pretty nice but at times very forceful. Everytime we went for dinner we were asked to book the boat trip or other such activities. On the second night one of the bar staff refused to give us our 8 lira change which we were due, when we asked him about it he told us that we gave him 2 lira short of what we needed which was completely untrue (4 of us counted the money before we handed it over).

The pool area was probably the highlight of this hotel experience. There was enough beds to go around and the food/drink service was superb. the only gripe I'd have about it would be that was slightly boring. Other hotels seemed to have a few pool activities during the day which is perhaps something they should look about doing int he future.

It was a good hotel but I expected a lot more. I would come back to Gumbet but i'd try to stay clear of Sami Beach.
