We stayed at this hotel from 12th September for two weeks, the rooms were very basic, clean towels every day cleaning staff good, beach and sun loungers were very bad and dirty and mostly broken.Staff on beach and resturant were very rude espically selcuk and sexy pepsi who all day chatted to young girls and sleeze around them, could hardly get a drink, werent interested if u werent young about 18 or spending money, entertainment was ok location was good but nosiey at nite, but if u were young it was in good place, food ok would not be staying here again.

Room Tip: Dont book this hotel

We have just returned from a week at SAMI BEACH HOTEL. What a ideal place for a relaxing weeks holiday, just get out of bed, have your breakfast and straight on to the beach in the hot sun, with not a cloud in the sky all week just blue. The location was also ideal for the bars in Gumbet and for a stroll along the front, where there were more bars and resturants to stop at, loads of shops and an great bus service to Bodrum. Our room was ok, a little old fashioned it needed updating, lots of dark turkish wood. we had a problem with the shower and no plug in the sink and the fridge not working but these were all fixed as soon as we pointed them out. The rooms were very clean, the beds and towels changed everyday. The Sami resturant was great for food, especially the tables in the evening on the beach. The BBQ was great, so much to eat, also the sunday set dinner was good. we did not eat there everyday but what we had was first class, just like the staff, all so nice, friendly and helpful. we will be going back again next year just to relax in such a nice place.

Don't be put off by what you read as I nearly was. Stayed for 2 weeks 26th Aug till 10th Sep '11....... Loved it! Yes the food was very basic but in fairness you get what you pay for. We only went B&B so don't know about evening meal but I believe it wasn't very good but the meals are so cheap anyway its worth paying a little extra and eating out. The one thing I was gutted about was there was no kettle in the rooms so if you like your brew in a morning take your own!! Once we were given a better room we were happy. The waiters are great but agree about reception staff.. not very helpful. The captain does mither a bit but I'd recommend the boat trip to anyone, it was well worth the money. Location is spot on, right on the beach!! We're going back next year... We also made some fantastic new friends :)

Room Tip: ask for groung floor as balconies are quite small on middle and top

Stayed at the Sami Beach hotel for two weeks and returned home 13th sept.
Where to start???... The Sami Beach is a great location for the beach, right on the beach in fact, and that is probably the best thing this hotel has going for it.
We payed extra to stay in the main hotel as there is another annex part to this property that is situated over the main road at the front of the hotel, and overlooks the local Burger King, when we checked in the reception staff gave us our key and the porter got our bags to show us to the room, however when he began to walk out of the main doors to the road we suddenly realised what was going on. We had to stop him and go back to reception, where the attitudes of the reception staff changed rapidly, however after about ten minutes of arguing with them and being told the hotel was full, suddenly they had a room in the main buliding, which we had to wait twenty five minutes further for so it could be cleaned.
The room we got was small, basic and had damp, a lot of damp, and was like trying to sleep on a runway with the noise from the bar, however i have to say the maid service was great, and the room was kept very very clean by them.
We booked for half board, and soon realised we need not bother, the food in the evening was basic and I mean basic, oh and cold very very cold, it didn't matter what time you went to the restaurant it was always cold. Breakfast was ok the first couple of days, but you will soon get fed up of the same thing, boiled eggs, sweet bread cheeses and cereal that you are still chewing at tea time. Now and then they would have someone frying an egg or making a pancake, but this was few and far between, I do however have to say the biggest surprise one day was when we lifted the lid expecting to find the usual hot sweet bread, but infact found .............. sausage and chips, honestly sausage and chips for breakfast!!!!!
The food in the in the bar restaurant was a different story, obviously because you were paying for this, and was infact very nice.
Entertainment was good but after seeing it all the first week, it got boring as it was repeated all over again the second week.
The hotel has no lifts at all.. anywhere, but lots of steps, please do not book here if you need lifts or wheelchair access.
As mentioned the location for the beach was great, straight out of the restaurant and on to it, but be warned you will be pestered by the guy who runs the boat trip there, he will scour the beach and wont give you a minutes peace, even when your trying to eat your evening meal he will interrupt you banging on about his boat trip, and come five o'clock in the afternoon, depending on which side of the beach you are on, the hotel staff come and move you so they can put tables on the beach ready for the evening.
We did eventually go on the boat trip, and in all fairness for the price you pay, you got value for money. The only thing I will say is take money with you, when you dock at the mud bath and camel beach you are charged to do these activities, which you are not told about, and a little man comes around on his little rowing boat selling ice creams to the passing ships.
On the second day we met our rep who we booked the turkish bath through, and I have to say, IT WAS A TOTAL AND COMPLETE RIP OFF.. DO NOT BOOK THIS AT ALL, We were told the bath included oil massage and a full turkish bath. We were picked up the next morning and drove about twenty minutes out of town and arrived in the middle of no-where at a huge beauty centre, very nice you would think, but you are took to sit in a room full of strangers, and presented with what can only be described as a menue and rip off prices for everything you thought you had payed for, and the turkish bath was a rushed job to say the least, plaese shop around.
The resort of Gumbet itself was great, plenty of shops restaurants and of course bar street, and if you like karaoke (and even if like me, you dont) I would reccommend the Ali Baba bar, situated down a dirt track road off the main stretch, but you will recognise it as it has a projector screen advertising on top of it, the ale is cheap and the entertainment is quite good. Another place to eat is a steak restaurant, situated next to the sister hotel the Sami Plaza, called The Columbia steak house, and beleive me it is great food and great value for money. If you find you want to go to Bodrum, the bus service is excellent, just see the bus and wave it down, wherever you are, and it will stop and take you to the main bus depot in the centre of Bodrum, another shoppers paradise. Bus service runs from 7am 5am, and is great value too.
Would i stay here again, well yes in the resort but not this hotel, especially when you see some of the other hotels in the vacinity and the standards they have, all in all we throughly enjoyed our stay in Gumbet.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the annex part, if possible get one of the ground floor rooms in the corner, less noisy
