“I'd go back tomorrow!”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

This is a neat and tidy, no frills hotel that is perfectly situated just on the edge of all that Gumbet has to offer. The rooms are basic, bed and bathroom. If you want in room entertainment, take a DVD player or re-invent the joy of reading, I did! The pool is ample, the missus and I found it usually empty first thing in the morning but still warm from the previous day. Even at its busiest, no more than 8 people in it at any one time. Breakfast is turkish but for a few TL, scrambled, poached or beans on toast are readily available and very good. You might want to take your own mug and a tea-bag. If you dont fancy a walk for lunch or dinner, very good bar snacks are available. Again quite basic but a salad, burger or just egg and chips can make a pleasant change and the omelettes are spot on. Staff are friendly, the place is kept clean and we will most certainly be returning in the future. Tony, W. Yorks

Stayed here 22nd June to 3rd July. The rooms and facilities were as expected, having stayed at another small hotel in Gumbet previously. Perfectly clean, minimal furnishings but did the job. The hotel is quite small, only around 24 rooms, so you got to know everyone and the owner, Sep and his family were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast, whilst being typical Turkish, could have been a bit better if it was self service. It was all placed on a plate together so the juice from the olives, tomatoes and melon was all mxied on the plate whilst you were trying to butter your bread or eat the boiled egg! Not the end of the world, but would have preferred if it was in dishes and you helped yourself to what you wanted.

The pool area was nice, enough sunbeds for everyone and plenty of sun though you could move to a shady area if you wanted.

Just to the left was a friendly local shop selling drinks, snacks, etc etc so very handy. In fact there were 'corner shops' everywhere, 3 more if you turned right outside the hotel, open all hours. Also a useful laundry if you turned right, got a large bagful of washing done and all ironed for 20 Lira.

It was only a very short walk to the town (less than 5 minutes) with so many restaurants to choose from. Our favourite was Divers (a bit further, just off Bar Street) but also Casablanca and Jacks.

It was far enough away from the nightlight not to be disturbed by noise, but only a few minutes to walk home at the end of the evening.

Hope to go back to Gumbet next year and will probably stay here again.

Just back from Turkey, We recommend Ali Baba, have stayed there several times. Seb and family alawys make us feel very welcome. A really five star two star hotel in a quiet area but not too far from the the beach and the restaurants. Can't wait to get back in September!

Just returned from an amazing holiday here with my daughter. Hotel basic but spotless, staff and manager made you feel so welcome just like one of the family. Met some lovely people, quiet spot but only 10 minute walk to shops, beach, restaurants and nightlife. No fighting for sunbeds, plenty for all ! One of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in and will definitely be returning !
