Nice 3 star hotel lovely location very close to buses and restaurants. Looknfor a room away from the bar as it can be noisy with guests coming home late. Staff really madeour stay special and they have all sports on the bar telle handy for important games or golf.
They also organised a Turkish barber for me. Top class he even collected me in his car.

Room Tip: Go for upstairs and away from the reception. Girls in high heels walking in late make alto or noise...

Having been to Turkey for the past 13 years, we have always done 4* or 5* all inclusive and have seen many places in Turkey such as Marmaris, Olu Deniz, Icemeler, Kusadasi, Hissaronou and Fetye and we have always travelled as a family with four children. This year we decided to go on our own as a couple as our children have their own families and we chose Gumbet. We had seen the Serpina hotel on the Thompson Web site and read all the reviews and we were a little concerned about it being 3* as we have had one very bad experience in a 3* on our first ever trip to Turkey and swore we would never do 3* again!! Our Concerns were unfounded, this little hotel was better than some of the 4* hotels we have stayed in over the years and we were amazed by the cleanliness of the rooms. We had an issue with room 304 which was on the ground floor near the main reception and was quite noisy, whilst we never complained, we had discussed this with some of the friends we met at the hotel and on the third day we arrived back at the hotel after a day trip, the young girl in the reception approached us to ask if we had a problem with the room and that she would change our room to a quiet one. We were more than happy to accept the offer as we were very tired. My point is; nothing was too much trouble for the staff, if you were happy, they were happy.

Ali the Hotel Manager was a Stalwart, he was superb and his manner was impeccable, Can't say the same for his singing lol!! he always went out of his way to meet and greet you every day, his staff are like a small family and they make you feel part of that family. Aigin the Bar Manager is excellent (Freddie Starr lookalike) and Ali the Chef is superb, they couldn't do enough for you. The food and drinks were very well presented. Their Turkish night is a must!! The belly dancer was good but not a patch on the young school children who did their turkish dancing. Aigin and the rest of the staff put on an excellent show.

Boat Trip!

We had travelled the seafront looking for boat trips! mind bogolling. We were worried about getting on the boats with 50-80 people on. Save yourself a lot of grief and go to see Tyson at EXEN Travel (next to Molly Maloneys Bar), the boat accommodates 22 people but they only take 14, plenty of room for everyone without having to squash up to let people in. It was brilliant and he delivers what he promises. It cost £18.00 each and it included all local drinks, lunch and afternoon tea. We visited 5 bays one of which was camel beach! not a lot there but good fun. He also provides snorkels for everyone. One of the nicest people you could wish to meet, he is genuine and he gives you the best deal. He can be trusted implicitly.

DREAM GIRLS!!

Cost £20.00 each and was a Waste of money!

KOS TRIP

Unfortunately KOS was not for us, we paid £20.00 each and we booked on the Katamaran 20 minutes to get to KOS. 1 and half hours queuing at each end of the journey. Very stressful and expensive.

Columbia Bar was fantastic, all day breakfast 5 TL or £2.00 and it was the best in Gumbet. SNN hairdressers proved to be a popular one with teh ladies 20 TL for wash and blow, which after a chillaxing day at the beach was worth a visit to take the stress out of washing and styling your hair for the evening. Where else could you get a wash and blow for £7.50. Superb value. Go for it gents, treat the lady, works wonders!!

All in all a fantastic holiday. Well worth the visit.

Room Tip: Rooms at the far end of the corridors are quieter try and avoid room 304 or any other room near the...

Just home from another fabulous stay at the serpina hotel and we can't praise Ali Boss and his staff enough, from the moment we arrived till our departure we never had to lift a finger as it was never any trouble for the staff to please you. First time we have went half board here and we were not disappointed, the food on offer by Ali Chef and his kitchen staff was excellent and well cooked and presented, the hotel is nice and clean and has very relaxing atmosphere, the Turkish night is a must for anyone visiting the serpina even if you have been to other Turkish nights before this is by far the best we have been to as you will be entertained by Ali Boss and his staff as well as been over fed at the delicious BBQ from Ali chef. Engin and all the Bar staff and Elo the head waiter all were super friendly and could not do enough for us....so it's hats off to the Serpina Hotel once again

Room Tip: We have had rooms upstairs and downstairs and never had any problems, most rooms have a pool view an...

just returned from 2 weeks at the Serpina 3/9-17/9 had a great time the hotel is spotlessly clean and so friendly the staff could not do enough for you Elo the head waiter is brilliant and the two young ladies in reception were brilliant within a couple of days we only had to walk in and they new our room number, we did the Turkish night and my wife and i have been coming to Turkey for 14 years and this was one of the best , the food was outstanding and the entertainment brilliant ,and what made it special was that Ali the Manager explained what was happening and introduced and thanked all his staff.we did not eat in the hotel in the evening but everybody we spoke to praised the food.
the cheapest and coldest beer in Gumbet must be 'UNCLE FESTERS' 4tl for a large bottle Efes the glass straight from the freezer covered in ice, to eat , my wife is a plain food person so the Colombia steak house was ideal ,Turkish ,fish, pizza, steaks are cooked to perfection,& the steak meal deal is brilliant value , pluss loads of egg&chips, chips& beans, sausage egg chips & beans ,anything you want , The Family Door next to the hotel deserves a mention you must try the Chicken ottoman kebab served in a metal bowl with burner ,if you are a big eater have it by yourself we had it between us and were stuffed.
lastly for good entertainment try Dejavu good family entertainment it didnt mater if you were old ,young ,thin fat, good looking or ugly the lads got you up to join in,& being a wrinkly it made you feel welcome & and when we left on our last night everyone came to say goodbye.

Room Tip: try to get an upstairs room as ground floor can be noisy when people come home from the night clubs...

My friends. family and myself are just back from a 2 week stay at The Serpina Hotel Gumbet. I have stayed there several times over the years and the service just gets better . Ali and his staff couldn't be more helpful especially Engin at the Bar.
Ummahan on reception was great. Any requests we had were met almost at once i.e directions to anywhere, exchange money, more towels for room etc. I even locked myself out of my room on more than one occasion and it was no trouble for her or here colleague to let me in.
The pool staff and waiters were all well mannered, always smiling and made you feel very at ease, they even brought your drinks/food to your sun lounger.
There are plenty of good restaurants and bars close by but the food on offer in the hotel was so good we ate there most days. (Compliments to Chef Ali and his kitchen staff ).
Weekly Turkish Night is a must. Musicians and dancers are fantastic and encourage everyone to take part..
I would definitely recommend The Serpina Hotel to anyone going to Gumbet. I think its suitable for couples and families or even on your own. We met some really people for all over and all ages.

Room Tip: Rooms were great. Plenty space. no problems.

This was our second visit to Gumbet and Hotel Serpina was Fab! Location of the hotel is perfect. Shops next door, 5 minute walk from the beach, restaurants & bars.

We arrived at serpina around 3am, on arrival staff were friendly and carried our luggage to our room, we stayed in room (109), we were a little dissapointed that we did not have a pool view as we had paid quite a lot for a 2 week stay compared last year in Gumbet, However the room was a good size, cleaned daily and towels changed twice a week. The balcony was large & had 3 stools to sit on we were overlooking another hotel and a wall but we just made the most of it. Bathroom is big & shower is Huge (compared to previous hotel in Gumbet).
The pool is Lovely, always enough sunbeds for everyone, however downside is you cannot sit in the sun all day you have to keep moving. All the staff at the hotel were Lovely, very attending to guest needs, taking food & drink orders so you can sit and relax. Breakfast is a Turkish but there is loads to choose from daily. We did pop next door for an English Breakfast one day as we missed breakfast. We did not eat there again as the breakfast was very greasy and the cook was smoking in the kitchen whilst preparing the Food. However, Food at the hotel is lovely, we ate Lunch there a few days and was always pleased.

A must is to attend th Turkish night, Lots of food, drinking, dancing and singing. As a young couple (22 & 24) we did not know what to expect but it was such a Fab Night!! :) Mostly Everyone from the hotel attended... If we were to return to Gumbet would definitely return to this hotel.
TIPS: We drank at LEOS BAR every night (other side of bar street) & went on a boat trip twice in the 2 weeks with the Bar. Boat trips are brilliant, recommended them to everyone there!! NO NAME BAR - the best place for cocktails, was never dissapointed! Columbia restaurant next door to the hotel was the best restaurant we ate at in the 2 weeks :) !!
