Lovely Hotel, we stayed in a superior suite which overall was lovely and modern but quite small. Food selection throughout was very good, there never seemed to be a time when you could not get something to eat and there was a good choice. Getting a drink however was another matter, at dinner, water is provided but waiter service for soft or alcoholic drinks was limited as waiters were primarily clearing tables and resetting, this may be due to the fact that we were All Inclusive! Over the 10 days we were there we went to the bar for our own drinks almost every evening. During our stay there were celebrations of Turkish Independence, however, we knew nothing about this, this was explained to us by another guest, there was no explanation to guests in other languages what the celebration was about. There were loads of locals there and at the Marina bar you could have waited all night for one drink as bar staff chose to serve locals first. In fact, one waiter was so ill mannered and unfriendly that one night I opted to go outside the hotel instead. Overall, the hotel is very nice, I cannot fault rooms, reception area, spa, maid service etc, just the fact that as a tourist in a tourist resort I expected a little more of a welcome and friendliness overall especially from the Marina Bar Staff.

Room Tip: Best to ask for a sea facing room in the main building as most superior bungalows are low down and views of the sea are limited.

On arrival, our first impression was one of shabbyness and tired around the edges. Our room was minimilistic and not particularly clean and presentable. The requested "sea view" room was accurate in description but overpowered and lost its appeal by the surrounding unkempt gardens and other buildings surrounding the room(s). Not to mention the incessant noise from the nearby clubs at night til 4am. Yes it was all inclusive, however the quality of food and drink overall never warranting a 5 star rating as claimed. Wi- fi was totally unreliable unless you placed yourself and equipment in the main reception(this was tiresome). Dinner at night is served in a great location , but be careful as all food is cleared away at 9pm. One saving grace- the Spa facility is first class.
Overall we would not recommend and will never return to the ASALIK !

Room Tip: Choose the relax rooms at the other side of the complex, but beware of the smell in the evenings from what we assume was a sewer! Top tip take a 1x metre extension lead with 4 sockets as room sockets in rooms are "sparse"

Just come back from Gumbet after 10days at the Royal Asarlik, we had no problems with staff and asked on the night we arrived to have the 2 spare beds removed, the next morning one was taken out and sofa bed was stripped and put back, room was immaculate and cleaned every day towels on bed with flowers, we had a plate of fresh fruit in the room, maids were really friendly, food was reasonable and waiter in the smaller outside restaurant got drinks after day one without asking speaking really good English , entertainment was very limited but we were there to chill and had no problems, went to the green bar most nights, we tried the fish restaurant and the ottoman one too which we both enjoyed, beach was small but there were 2 we never had a problem getting a sunlounger,I think some people expect more for a five star hotel but we would rate it about the second best we have been to in Turkey, we have been 4 times now going to different resorts, if you want a quiet relaxing holiday then this is a real treat, never been to a hotel before where we have had so little canvassing for Turkish baths etc, The only downside to our holiday was that we travelled with Cosmos and the rep wasn't organised when we have the welcome meeting he knew there were 7 people coming in and he completed ignored 4 of us, he didn't even talk about trips etc, only about going on the bus into Bodrum, we didn't see him again, and we had a fax come with our departure times on and then were hurded around for 1 1/2 hours to get back to Bodrum airport, perhaps it would be worth paying for a taxi for transfers, one guy on our bus going back had travelled for 3 hours and had only come from the other side of Bodrum,

Room Tip: We had a standard room, in was within the courtyard with no sea views but from the sounds of other holiday makers we had by far the best deal, you don't spend time only sleeping in your room do you ?

Just back and now reflecting on the holiday. Would I go there again? Probably not. For what we paid - the most expensive week I've ever paid for a holiday - I'm not sure that we got value for money. Maybe I'm just going off the whole ' all inclusive' thing? The sun shone and no one got ill. The views were nice and the sea is lovely. The stretch of beach available is very narrow and you feel cramped when sitting on a sunbed. The apartments (in the main tower block hotel) were clean and modern and the cleaners were excellent. However, if you get one in the atrium then it does feel abit sterile as you can't easily detect the sun, the balconies can be very small and it feels like a bit of a glorified social housing block. The food was plentiful but I got a bit bored with it by day two. I am a veggie so that might make life a bit more difficult. The choice of appropriate bars on site was a little unflattering come evening time and the entertainment was a little laughable. It even descended to Bingo! That's too much of the mixed and not so good. It's far from a place that you need to avoid. I think that I've now probably come to the conclusion that 'all inclusives' are now not for me and this review probably reflects this.

Room Tip: Don't look internally in the atrium. Try to look out to sea.

Just come back from 2 weeks(5th sep to the 19th),this was our 2nd time at royal asarlik, went same time last year, food is good, absolutely loads to choose from you cant moan about the food,24 hour all inclusive bar,so you can get up at 4am and go and get a cocktail,,they have gin, brandy, vodka, bacardi and whisky. you have the lazy pool and the activity pool, last year we spent 2 weeks at the lazy pool, this year we spent 2 weeks at the activity pool, absolutely brilliant,Ercanio and Ekram made our 2 weeks,2 blokes from the animation team who work really hard to get people to have fun,if you don't want to join in you don't have too.if you want quietness go to the quiet pool, everyone had fun,you get to meet other people while having a good laugh with them.rooms are nice, cleaned daily, nearly all the staff are quite good with English.this is not an English 5 star but very good none the less .As for all the negative comments on here i'm not sure!!! we haven't had anything go wrong worth moaning about. All rooms are different,so some are good views others aren't.If you fancy eating out there are loads of good food restaurant's, The Royal which is a 4 minute walk is lovely, had an indian meal which was better than our indian meal's! they also do a full English breakfast for £2, 2 eggs,2 toast, sausage, bacon, beans, mushrooms, tomato and butter and jam.The bronze bar which is a 2 minute walk also does good food, they do guiness, carling and tuborg on draft.Lovely Jubbly is a pizza and kebab shop just past The Royal but on the other side, lovely kebab or pizza at 3 or 4 in the morning :) brilliant place,we are booking next year's already...

Room Tip: upgrade if you want the better rooms.
