“Great value for money”
Reviewed April 26, 2011

Booked at the last minute and got a very cheap deal for 10 days. It was so cheap we were able to hire a car and go off on a 3 day road trip to Pamukkale and Ephesus (recommended but thats another story). Anyway what about the hotel ! !
We were there at the very beginning of the season so very quiet and many places only just opening up. This suited us but not everybody. It was amusing to watch the beached arrive by lorry and spread out ready for the season ! !
Hotel opposite was noisy - yes the Karaoke and resident singers are bad but seemed to finish before mid night so no problem for night owls
Room nice and clean. First couple nights cold but extra blanket provided and things warmed up.Shower ranged from cold to boiling but suspect teething problems at start of the season.
Location - at the very end of the resort but not too far to walk along the front (on newly constructed beaches) . Very regular minibus service into Bodrum - cheap and very cheerful - give the driver the money when you feel like it and fellow passengers will act as unofficial conductors ! !
As previous reviews - staff extremely friendly (as were all the people we met in Turkey). Breakfast okay. Bar prices and restaurant - a bit pricey for Turkey but equivalent to England. Car for 5 days cost about £100 but petrol even more expensive than UK - is this possible.
Suspect Gumbet area would be good for partying and relaxing but go to Bodrum if you want a more classy (middle age) experience

PS Its not 4 star but what do you expect for the price ! !

Stayed here for 2 weeks with my husband and daughter. The hotel is rated at 4 star however realistically should be rated as a 2 star. The maid was excellent and kept our room spotlessley clean this however is the only good thing I can say about the hotel. I have stayed at many other hotels in gumbet which are much better than this one. My advice to you would be to reconsider and book another hotel

No kids around, peace and quiet, just out of town, very friendly waiters and reception staff. Pool and all areas kept clean and tidy.

My boyfriend and I stayed in this lovely boutique hotel for 3 nights. I have been travelling to Bodrum area for the last three years, and this was the best stay within that region! I found my hotel for my next visits to Bodrum..
At the beginning I was not sure after reading the previous reviews- couple of ‘excellent’ and couple of ‘poor’ ones, but after staying the hotel I understand the discrepancy between them. What we have learned is that the hotel management has been changed, and it seems that everything has been renovated and renewed since then.
It was not a five star luxury, but the hotel was very very clean, we even used the brand new towels and the cover sheets. Food was perfect- not cheap but not expensive neither for Gumbet- well, definitely cheap for London standards!! and the location was very very convenient. The hotel is located just on the beach, around 10 min walk to bars and nights clubs of Gumbet, and a 10 min local bus drive to Bodrum city centre. Chilling out at the private jetty and enjoying plenty of water sports were my favourites.
Strongly recommended especially for young people who would like to enjoy lovely sun and beach.
Last note: there is another hotel in Gumbet as well named Litera Gumbet Beach Resort, which is on the hill. There was a problem in our airport transfer and the agency brought us to the other one initially. It seems that you need to climb a hill to reach your room from the beach!! I am glad we did not end up that one. I don’t know why these two hotels are using very similar names, but make sure which hotel you are booking.

I have recently just got back from the Gumbet Beach Boutique Hotel. On arrival - after finally being dropped off at the correct hotel (there is a Gumbet Beach hotel just up the hill) we were greeted by the friendly reception staff, who spoke very good English and were very helpful. There are saftey deposit boxes ready to be used in the reception also.
It's a short walk from the centre of Gumbet and there is a shuttle bus that goes to Gumbet and Bodrum that you can also get.

The Room:
The room was a good size and the bathroom was very nice. The room came with air conditioning, however we over heard other people saying how they were asked to pay extra... There was a nice little balcony that over looked the pool and we could kind of see the sea. However, a slight down side is that the room is directly opposite another hotel, so all the noise on a night, for example, the awful karaoke, is a bit of a nuisance

The Food:
We stayed half board. Breakfast was just an average continental breakfast where you help yourself. However, I would advise to take extreme caution when using the toaster, as two people got an electric shock from it when trying to get the toast out.
The evening meals were a bit of a let down. You cannot choose from two or three different meals, you simply get given a set meal that they cook. Whether you like that meal or not - is tough. However, as a few people complained, they started serving grilled chicken if you didn't like the meal.
Food that is served on a lunch time (that we had to buy) was brilliant, however, the drinks are a little pricey, but there is a shop just up the road. All the restaurant/beach staff are very friendly and helpful.

The Beach:
The beach is a little gritty and pebbely than sandy but it's the better side of the beach. There is also a little jetty with big cushions and umbrellas where people can go and sit on and can order food there that will be brought over by the waiters.
There's also plenty of activites/trips that you can choose from. One i would advise, is the boat trip, where you can enjoy the hot springs, camel riding, cliff diving and snorkelling. (Warning: you have to pay extra to do things such as camel riding and to go in to the hot springs!!) But it's a really good day out, friendly atmosphere and you get lunch included.

To conclude: beautiful settings and surroundings, friendly and helpful staff, let down with the food (but they are making improvements!).
