Having stayed at many hotels in various countries around the world, you can't beat the welcome and service at the Orion. The breakfast, any thing you wanted, remember this is Turkey, hotel is run by a good Irish boy and a better Turkish girl. You can't get a better mix.Try the big fat chips and the hot tomato sauce. It went down a treat. Being an expert on Indian cooking, as my wife will tell you that she has never eaten a curry I have cooked, that is true, but i know a curry.
Delik's restaurant just a cock stride from the Orion, when you have got past sleeping, 'Michael' the dog, and his mate the 'Devil' dog changed up next door, you are safe as houses. The Turkish food is excelent and there is now my addition to the menu, just ask for Eugene's special.
The stay was just perfect.
The only thing that spoilt the holiday was the return to Manchester Airport. A third world country airport. The bridge did not work, it would not meet up to the aircraft, so we had to exit the aircraft through the rear door. The steps provided by the airport services was too low and left a step down of about 18 inches and the steps rocked and rolled, this is a disgrace. What about health and safety MIA?
Mike and Dilek we will be back next year, for an other great time.
love, Colleen and Eugene.
