We travelled to the Mandarin Gardens from the 8 to 15th September. At first glance we thought that the apts were basic and were a bit disappointing - but you know, it grew on us and by the time we left after a few days we realised that this was a perfect location! We booked a one-bedroom apt but were offered a two-bed as they ran out of one -bedroom apts. We were seeking a "chill-out & relax break" and this turned out to be a fantastic base. We weren't looking for anything special other than a nice location, a pool, away from noise, reasonably near a beach (walking distance), a shop nearby to get milk/bread/water and a place to get a good night sleep without passing out in perspiration .... and this is what we got! Everything else we wanted , we got 300/400m away on the Bitez Beachfront. One night during our stay, the light fitting shattered in the bathroom and water was flowing through the light fitting - we didn't see this 'til the morning and I took some photos of it. I showed these to one of the staff and by the time we had returned from the beach in the late afternoon - everything was perfect. How often would you find that? I heard that other people had some problems, but for the time we spent there we were more than happy with the apts and would definitely go there again!

Room Tip: If you get a 2 bed apts then you can leave the a/c on in the other bedroom and leave it circulate an...

This is my second review of Mandarin Gardens! I visited in July with my Mum and had such a great time I just had to go back in August! This time I travelled on my own! Well I can honestly say that from now in I will be travelling on my own! Best experience ever! Mandarin Gardens is a beautiful complex situated 5 mins from the fab beach in Bitez! Perfect location in my opinion! Perfect walk up the hill after stuffing my face!
The apartments at Mandarin gardens are basic but exceptionally clean! A little injection of cash wouldn't go astray but then we would be paying premium prices! And after all we are not there to spend all our time in the apartment!

The restaurant and bar are ideally located in the centre of the complex! I really think the reason I had such a good time was down to the staff! They were always happy jolly had a smile on their faces and extremely helpfully! Thank you Jeloo, Arafat, Frat, Memid and little Hamid! And of course Brave the barman! Jeloo stayed up all night to ensure that everyone enjoyed themselves with a drink and "craic". Don't know how he worked such long hours and still told stories and kept everyone entertained and happy! We had been looking forward to this holiday for a year. When we got there what a utter disgrace the apartment was. I would have had better accommodation in a third world slum. I listed so many things wrong with the appartment that i thought i was writing a novel. From dangerous plugs and really bad fixtures and fittings if you could call them that. Nails sticking out all over the so called furniture, ripped bedding, everything looked like the local handy man (NOT) had done a complete botch job. I have never felt like i wanted to go straight home before when on holiday but i did there. So dark and depressing was the appartment. When we went to complain the staff on the reception were not very helpful and seemed very disinterested. We complained to the rep about the state of the place and she did not come and have a look but said we could change to another room. Very surprising as the day before when we arrived and asked they said they were all full and could do nothing about it. We did change rooms, it was slightly better but only slightly it looked so uninviting and dirty. Went down to Bitez and eat every night there. Bitez itself is absolutely fab and relaxing and the people who work in the resturants are really nice and very friendly and no pressure to eat there if you didn't want to. The days on the beach were so nice, all free sunbeds as long as you had a drink or something to eat there which was fair enough. All in all enjoyed Bitez would not recommend Mandarin Gardens to anyone, Avoid at all costs. One more thing to add was that the room we deemed as totally unfit for purpose was then let out to another family a couple of days later. There is no way that they could have put the things right in the room that soon. Also the toilet was leaking into the shower.......

Room Tip: Sorry from what i have learned there are no good rooms.

I love travelling, in fact i work as a travel agent. My advise realistically is dont bother with this place. I have read the reviews, and if you have been to other resorts and thought they were basic then half your expectations for these. Main pool is nice but approx 20 sunbeds so people were putting towels on beds during the night.... who needs the hassle of going to the pool with the kids and you cant stay by the pool.... not for me.. Apartments extremely basic, first time i had to shower in the toilet.... a new experience i admit but not great if you have children.... Some of the staff are very nice but some only have eyes for the single ladies..... shame as it becomes annoying for other guests when they sit by the pool flattering them and you cant get a drink.... oh and by the way we were there 2 weeks and same guys were equally in love with the new batch of women... so ladies dont be silly you are not 'special' at all. Some were nice and geniune but are overshadowed by the arrogant others.... Talk around the pool a lot was of how awful the staff and apartments are.... Maybe it was the heat 45-50 degrees but first time in years i was glad to leave an area. We made the most of it...great boat trip bitez cruise TL35 for adults and tl20 for kids book down on the strip in Bitez... All in all its a shame to see The Mandarin and Bitez take for granted the one thing that is keeping it going THE TOURISTS.... Maybe if people stop going there they might wake up and smell the roses. it is very pricey in Bitez dont go if you expect bargains. Expensive to eat out and have a drink. We all save to go away and dont expect 5 star at 3 star prices, but we do want to feel the love a bit... Wake up Mandarin and Bitez you are in danger of losing the plot.....

Room Tip: My helpful tip is DONT go there really.... dont be conned by the women who say its great i reckon th...

we (two adults and three children)stayed in the Mandarin gardens first two weeks in Aug yes it was basic but our room was cleaned and rubbish taken every day by a lovely young girl. Our towels and sheets were changed every third day one of the days being a family of five we needed extra towels and the girl went straight away to get them. The staff were so friendly never passed without a smile even though they worked from very early morning till late at night. The bar stayed opened till the last custormer left.We had our breakfast twice in the restaurant which was great value a full irish that worked out at about 3euro 50.The walk to the beach was a short one with a fab view of the beach and surrounding area. The shop in the mandarin gardens was grand for basics but a decent supermarket was available about ten mins from the apartments which had everything you would need and not that expensive. The shows in the local bars and hotels were very entertaining for adults and children.Plenty of restaurants to choose from on the seafront and also on the back roads all serving beautiful food .Plenty of day trips available at reasonable prices. We used the local dolmus to visit Bodrum and gumbet both great places to shop ,Bodrum has a beautiful marina with plenty of bars and restaurants where you can sit and enjoy the sights.Gumbet was the place to visit for the late bars and discos but also nice during the day to check out the shops and restaurants. We would def return .A big thankyou to all the staff (Jello,Arafat,Frad, memmeth etc at Mandarin Gardens for making our stay a happy one
