We have been living and dining in Bodrum for 3 years now, but had not yet visited this restaurant. Having good friends visiting us we decided to give Kocadon a try, since it had been highly recommended by several local friends. We chose the gourmet Menu (180TL pro pers.) and the friendly waiter told us that it was a 3 hours meal. The hostess (and owner) came to our table and helped us choose the wines for this special menu and told us that all the ingredients of the meal were from the local region. Then a fantastic feast of tastes started. The portions are not big, but sufficiant and there are many of them. The owner is married to the Chef ,and she told us that he originally is an educated Chemical engeneer which indeed was evident, as his interest in the molecular kitchen showed in several of the courses. The owner introduced us to every course and was very helpful and nice. We think that this special place, in its lovely surroundings, deserves a star in the Michelin guide and will highly recommend Kocadon to all who wants an unusual and tasty meal. It´s not cheap , but surely worth every TL. We will be back.

We dined in the courtyard which was quiet and peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The food was excellent and the service perfect. The ice cream dessert is a feast for the eyes as well as the mouth. And where else can you find new toothbrushes and toothpaste in a ladies bathroom?!

If you are looking for something right in the heart of the marina in Bodrum, but tucked away nicely into an alley of cobble stones, magical lighting and tress, then the Kocadon in just what you are looking for. This is not a bargain restaurant, you will likely pay the same price for the same quality food and service you might get in a major city anywhere, which may catch you off guard because there are some fantastic restaurants in Turkey that are very inexpensive and you get used to that.
On the other hand, if you are looking for a great wine list (mostly local, but the very best) and wins that you may never get to try at home, combined with a beautifully lit and decorated courtyard, very professional service and a varied menu then the Kocadon should be on your list for Bodrum. Bring your credit card and you'll be fine. The perfect start to a romantic evening .

Lovely atmosphere, and wonderful food! The staff is well trained and very attentive. The owner was a pleasure to meet and you could see that the attention she gave all the guests is why this place has been in business for so many years. Do not miss this :0

The kocadon was highly recommended to us for a romantic night out. The restaurant is beautifully set up in a cobbled patio a bit back from the main road. The food was nice, but not any better than in our hotel, very small portions and massively overprized. As an example the pudding of my three course meal was an "arrangement of seasonal fruits", which turned out to be four slices of watermelon on a plate! Unfortunately only the prices meet the label haute cuisine!
