This is in no way a 4 star Hotel. On arrival i was given a room akin to a Dungeon. Sorted it the next day on a room upgrade which cost me £100. Now onto Gumbet its a real Dump most of the Shops & Bars are run by people who are complete pests & will not leave you in peace having said that there is some good places to Drink we spent nearly every day going to Bodrum which is a different Class altogether i was quite shocked how much the price of Drinks had increased since my last visit to Turkey 3 years ago. in fact its cheaper to drink in Newcastle City Centre than here. Anyway back to the Parkim although all inclusive you have to pay for the Drinks in the front bar which was a rip off to say the least as this is the best Bar the Parkims Managers Excuse was it was Franchised out ( most likely to his Brother ) All in All i love Turkey & ill be back but it wont be to Gumbet & certainly not to the Parkim Ayez !!! As a footnote the Market & Shops are great all my Mates back home are now outfitted in Ralph Lauren & Lacoste. Copies of corse but the best ive seen. This is my 1st review normally i would do one but i was so dissappointed with the Hotel i feel i needed to. Next stops Majorca with my Mates

Arrived at the hotel to find a tiny twin room with an even smaller balcony- but hey, who spends their holiday in their room??!! Room and hotel were spotless and gardens were beautiful. Hotel right on the beach front, with access to sunbeds and parasols. Our room was cleaned everyday, and the maids made a lovely job. Clean towels and bedding each day. Only down side was no sheet under the blanket, and the blanket wasn't that soft. We visited in October and the nights were cold, so you needed your blanket!!
We used the in room safe, which was 40 Lira to hire for the week, and had no problems with things going missing.
Food in the hotel was nice, although not always very hot, and not much choice with regards to the hot food, but this was possibly due to it being the end of season.
Entertainment was a bit hit and miss, but too be honest, Gumbet is so lively, you had plenty of entertainment in Bar Street.
All the staff at the hotel were very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Felt very well looked after whilst in the hotel.

Going out of the hotel was another story!! We were hassled, harassed and chased (only one night!!) We did expect this, but not to the extent in which we had to deal with. We visited a Turkish market and were so frightened, spent more time hiding than shopping!! This was an organised trip via Thomas Cook, and luckily we were with fellow hotel guests. Tour guide on excursion was brilliant, and warned us of the pitfalls prior to getting to the market!

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday, and can't wait to go back to the same hotel next year!!

Me and my friend stayed here for 2 weeks (5th Ocotber - 19th October 2012). We booked a late deal at a very good price for 2 weeks, although we think that 10 days would of been better. We arrived early Saturday morning after having problems at the feeder park and had a dodgy bus to the hotel. The reception staff were very helpful and we were quickly in our room. We were on the far side of the hotel so the noise wasn't too bad, although you could still here the bar which is right opposite the hotel. This wasn't a problem to us, as we spent a lot of time at this bar.
The room was small (room 1717) but it was perfectly fine for what we wanted as we only slept and showered in there. The cleaners did a good job of keeping the room clean and providing clean towels everyday.
We had a welcome meeting with our thomas cook rep. We felt like we were using her time and she was rushing us to decide what we wanted to do. We also felt like all she wanted was our money and not really tell much about the trips that we were interested in. She was making phonecalls while we were trying to book our trips, so we decided to book most of day trips on the beachfront. We booked the Jeep safari and Last day Cruise with Thomas Cook as we had a night flight. The Jeep Safari was amazing and worth a day trip although its most likely cheaper elsewhere. DO NOT BOOK THE LAST DAY CRUISE. The boat trip itself was really good, but they book you into a rubbish hotel which is not all inclusive although you have paid for that. A group of us walked back to the Parkim Ayaz for our final meal and drinks as they said we were welcome to stay there until our flight which was really good of them.
We did some watersports which we booked on the beach with Peter Pan. He is a lovely guy and he is situated right outside the back of the hotel and always says a friendly hotel. His bar is also worth a visit :)
There are a lot of shops in Gumbet so we didn't bother going into Bodrum for the shops. Try and bargain when your buying stuff. we tried getting most of our stuff half price which worked as it is all fake anyway.
The hotel is about a minute walk from bar street so for the partying people its definately in the right place. We went there quite a few times, but be careful of the guys out there. As the hotel was all inclusive till midnight, we made the most of that then had a cheap night out in bar street.
The hotel food is good, as I am a fussy vegetarian and I found food I liked to eat everyday. The deserts were amazing so leave some room for that. There is only some cocktails that are included with the all inclusive otherwise there 10 lira. We didn't mind as we had the free ones.
The evening entertainment was ok, but didnt start till 10pm and only lasted about 30 mins apart from the karoke on a thursday night. The DJ in cozzy bar played a lot of the same music and we heard a lot of gangnam style!!
We had a turkish bath with massage while we were at the hotel. definately worth the experience. Really relaxing but would recommend doing at the beginning of the holiday, so it doesn't rub your tan off or hurt you because of sunburn!
We spent most of our days by the main pool at Cozzy bar, with the swim up bar. The other pool with the slide we only spent the last day at so we could use the slide :) .. We spent a few days at the beach which is right outside the back of the hotel. The sea is really salty!!
Would definately recommend this hotel for people wanting a lot of nightlife close by or just a relaxing holiday as well. The staff there are also really friendly. It is also a really nice area of turkey!

Me and my family stayed here for a week from 12th Oct to the 19th..

My son aged four loved the slide and all the pools, my daughter (18th months) enjoyed the baby pool, service was good...

I enjoyed the food alot of choice, but no real sausages or bacon..

the only problem really was the size of the room very small but clean and as I only went to the room to shower or sleep. so did the job.

over all a lovely holiday...

The Parkim Ayaz was a BRILLIANT hotel. We stayed here last week (12th October - 19th October 2012). As we are a young couple, we were looking for somewhere to relax and have fun.
We arrived on the Saturday morning after our rather crappy Thomas Cook flight. They only do really late flights so may be worth doing some investigating and book this hotel through someone else! We arrived to the hotel, which is situated right on 'Bar Street'. It was noisy and busy that night, but nothing we were not used to from any normal night out in the UK. Our room was facing the Cozzy Bar, so we could hear the music from there until midnight, then a small amount from Bar Street after. It wasn't too bad but you do need to get used to be woken up by noisy neighbours stumbling in at 4am. They rooms and corridors are all marble so you can hear EVERYTHING in the hallways. This is the main downside. However, the rooms are standard, well kept and clean. Nothing fancy but we spent all of about 2 hours awake in the room a day so were not bothered. We had a lovely little balcony fancy Cozzy Bar and the pool, so this was a good room to have (1267). Lovely views of the beach etc too.

The Food - We started the week by eating at the A la carte Chinese which was very nice but nothing special. You get lots of food and was very tasty so this is recommended seeing as it is including in the 'all inclusive concept'. We also ate at Denny's which was amazing. We were given a table on the beach, right next to the seat, candle lit table with great service. The food was brilliant but too much for me. My boyfriend had steak and raved about it for the rest of the week. Again, highly recommended.
Following on from 2 great meals, we then went to the Dining Hall, which we were expecting to be OK but not Brilliant. We were very wrong as the food was also Brilliant! There was lots of selection and even the fusses person should be able to find something to eat. If you can't find something you like then theres something wrong with you! The meat is gorgeous, all food is freshly cooked and the choice is great. Dessert is a must so leave room. There was so many lovely looking desserts. A lot of fruit as well, if thats what you like.

The resort overall was perfect for our little holiday. My boyfriend and I found that there was something for everyone. We did not venture to Bar Street or to many neighbouring bars, as between Cozzy Bar and Ladybird Bar, you didn't really need to. The drinks were generous and no way watered down. You could drink all you liked from 10am until 12midnight, so we really found no need to spend money else were. (However Denny's cocktails were brilliant, but 10 lira extra!) The hotel provided entertainment every night which was interesting. We had a great time just chilling and enjoying what was on offer at the Parkim Ayaz. Some heavier drinkers and dancers may wish to venture to Bar Street.

WARNING - The only let down to the hoilday was that Thomas Cook were rubbish and the rep was no where to be seen. As it was end of season she might of gone home. She was quick to flog us their overpriced exercusions then bugger off. DO NOT BOOK A CRUISE WITH THOMAS COOK, especially the last day cruise. The last day cruise sounds great but you get dumped in a rank hotel around the corner from The Parkim Ayaz and put on a boat trip you could you book on the beach. It was a lovely day and wasn't spolit as a few of us went back to the Parkim for dinner and drinks (as the all inclusive bands last right up until midnight on your last day).

Execusions are safe to book with people along the beach outside the hotel. They are all very friendly but still be careful to make sure you get what you want.

SECOND WARNING - The flower people on the beach will try and rip you off. Walk away from them straight away, do not start talking to them. Just say 'No thank you' and be on your way. Once you stop you will be pestered for money until you give in. The hotel security guards are very good and try and help you if you do get stuck, but they do not always see you. You are fine as long as you are aware of these people.

Shopping - Bodrum is amazing for shopping. Go into Bodrum and get dropped at the habour. The bus from outside the hotel is 3 lira or a taxi was about 20 lira. The bus drops you at the bus station but just walk down to the habour and you'll find the aladins cave of shops. Just be careful not to get ripped off. Always get them down about 50%. Remember, the stuff is fake so make sure you don't pay too much for it!

Overall I would highly recommend the hotel and the country is beautiful. Make sure you go on a dalayan trip to the mud baths and see the turtles too :)

Room Tip: If you want a quiet hoilday, ask for a room near the ladybird bar. If you are not bothered, any room...

Travelled 24 sept for two weeks wife and myself late 40s ,On arrival at 10.30 pm shown straight to room,Requested quiet room away from main street, [sent email week before]. Right at back, 1746. Basic room but very clean away from noise, free air con, small balcony tv etc and lots of hot water etc . Maids very good, rooms cleaned daily clean towels and bedding changed every other day.
Hotel is mostly 2 storey buildings over large area, all grounds lawns pool area always been cleaned and tidied up.Two pools , no problem getting sun beds even at 10.30 am, refreshing change.[dont know what it is like in high season].It is situated right on beach at rear and on main street at front.
Food was fine, always plenty of choice, always hot and always different meats every night, only had chips once so it must be ok, free ice creams at 5 pm every day etc. Bars very good for Turkish all inc, beer, brandy, gin, vodka, peach snapps and lots of cocktails as well as soft drinks tea and coffee.
In with holiday, a meal at Chinese restaurant on front and also at roof top a la carte restaurant, well worth visit, 1 each week. All staff very friendly and helpful.
The only things that go against this hotel is the entertainment, or lack of it, [2 weeks, 2 water polo and 2 water arobics]entertainment team walk around, play pool and talk but thats it.Also pool around cozzy bar, DJ had his music blaring out over pool so loud you could not hear your own ipod etc or talk at times, also night time entertainment was very poor, never started on time and was only on for 15 mins.
This in a good hotel, ideally suited for all ages but it could be a very good one, been going abroad for many years and a good daytime entertainment programme creates a good atmosphere, shooting, archery, darts, even daft games, You dont have to join in but its there if you want it. We had a good holiday and may return if entertaiment etc sorted, good value for money .

Room Tip: If your a light sleeper email week before for quiet room, if your not happy on arrival go to recepti...
