A small hotel, but the rooms are lovely - living room, bedroom and shower and a wonderful balcony with superb views. The pool is great - actually deep, which I love, with 2 side areas to stand in. Breakfast is very tasty, choice of Turkish, muesli or scrambled eggs on toast - best scrambled eggs I've had! It was very quiet while we were there - lovely! There might be more of a scramble for shade if the hotel was full. However, the balcony is always in shade. As previously noted there is a hill, but it's not TOO bad - nowhere near as bad as Kalkan! Ercan, the owner is great and gives great advice about where to visit and super restaurants to eat in. All in all, we had a great holiday here.

Room Tip: Top rooms have best view, obviously!

This hotel only has 5-6 letting rooms (one is currently used by the owner) so is very small but the rooms are all suites with a living room with either a terrace (ground floor room) or a balcony off it, bedroom and shower room. They are very comfortable and immaculately clean. Unfortunately, tourists seem to be avoiding Turkey at the moment so where this hotel would normally be fully booked there is only one other couple here. On the other hand it's great for us as we practically have the place to ourselves!! It has a wonderful pool and stunning views from the end terrace which look down to the sea. It's about a 20/25 minute walk into town or a 2TL dolmus (local bus) ride. We got taxis back most evenings as the hill is pretty steep but they only cost about 12-13TL (about £3ish). The owner Erçan is lovely, very friendly and has booked us restaurants etc very happily. There is a small bar here and it's lovely to sit poolside chatting with him. The outside area is beautifully kept and arranged.
All in all we would highly recommend Aegean Gate Hotel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You would think that Ercan and Mary have been working together for years but this new management partnership only began a couple of weeks ago. The two have a wonderful working relationship and were amazing hosts. They were extremely generous and helpful when it came to some of our requests during our stay and for that we are very appreciative. We loved our stay at Agean Gate and would definitely return!

This was our first stop in Turkey in October 2015. It does start to get cooler around this time, so Bodrum is a lot less busy. We booked this hotel because of the great review on TripAdvisor and I have to say we were not disappointed!

The positives:
1) Beautiful View - from the room and pretty much any where on the property
2) Amazing hospitality - The owners really make you feel at home. We were the only ones there, and so it felt like it was our very own vacation home. The owners were there when we needed them, but at the same time gave us our space. They made us amazing breakfast and the day we were leaving we had a really early morning departure and without even asking them they had placed a nice cold breakfast for us to enjoy in our room before we left. Truly amazing! We even got a ride from them one day to the town center!

Negatives
1) This could also be a positive and therefore I didn't take off any stars for it. It is a little away from all the bars and restaurant, but that being said you can still walk there (though walking back uphill after a few drinks might be hard - we used to just take a cab back and it didn't cost us a whole lot)

For those who enjoy peace, quiet, tranquility and great hospitality - would definitely recommend this place!

On a side note - The rooms are not 5 star hotel like, but more what you would find in a vacation home. They were clean and well appointed which is all what we needed.

(Stay was in June 2013) Overall, we weren't huge fans of Bodrum, but the Aegean Gate made travelling there worth it! The view is SPECTACULAR! We spent the whole day sunbathing by the pool over looking the Mediterranean and basically had the place to ourselves. The hosts were awesome arranging a great catamaran and DELISH order-in lunch from some local lady down the road - the best food we had during our entire 8 days in Turkey.
