“Place was dead”
Review of Bitez Beach

Bitez Beach
Reviewed October 13, 2013

Had a wonder round Bitez beach as part of our stay in Bodrum and once was enough. Place seemed to be dead and felt neglected and depressing compared to neighbouring Gumbet and Bodrum. Perhaps this is lack of investment in this part of town or because it was low season

We went here for a change of scenery and found the beach packed full of sun loungers. The beach itself was ok but were we had sat there was quite a bit of rubbish in the sea - which put me off going in. The beach itself isn't very big so it felt a bit crowded for me. Lots of bars/restaurants to go and eat. I am glad we went but don't feel the need to go back. Compared to Bodrum it was very quiet which is good if that's what you want. I know a lot of people love Bitez but I wasn't overwhelmed but maybe we didn't explore it enough. Overall ok.

Nice and gentle sloped beach , great fro young children
It is stonely at the edge but sanding once in.
All sunbeds along the front are free.

Great at this time of year. There were plenty of sunbeds which you can use for free, generally you have to buy something from the restaurant/cafe that owns them but they're all reasonably priced so was worth a couple of drinks. The sea is lovely and calm and slopes gently with a small shingley bit then soft sand. Plenty of places to eat and drink along the front and a few googaa (souvenir) shops too. There's a small supermarket for cheap pop and biscuits, and a great kebab place which I can't remember the name of but they were only 5 Lira each!

Much quieter than Gumbet set in a little bay, but with all you could ask for, we used the sunbeds outside The Lemon Tree
by the mosque, these were free as long as you bought your drinks and snacks from the restaurant, they provide beach service so you don't have to get off your sunbed.
