“A real gem of a hotel.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2012

I was looking for low price accommodation in Bodrum, in Turkey and could hardly believe my luck when I chanced on the Mia Butik (Boutique) Hotel in a whitewashed side-street, right off one of the main shopping areas, the Cumhuriyet Cad. St., in the old town, near to the Yacht harbour, the Castle with its fascinating museum and the beautiful, main sea promenade round the bay. A very pleasant change from big commercial hotels and so convenient for wandering at leisure among the hundreds of pretty shops all round, without the bustle and noise of the main thoroughfare. The young, owner manager who speaks good English and his staff were charming and most helpful. The hotel is tiny, with only five rooms but although not spacious, they are spotless, very comfortable, attractively furnished and have good lighting, air-con, a mini-fridge, TV and internet. The well-appointed shower had everything necessary, from an efficient hair-dryer to a selection of bath-gel, etc. There is a roof terrace with wonderful views where breakfast and other meals are served. Olus, the owner, also recomended to me a friend's nearby restaurant , the Evimiz, which was simply enchanting and I shall write a separate review about it. As I had an early departure, before normal breakfast time, coffee was kindly brought to my room. I really hope to be able to return to Bodrum in the not too distant future and enjoy a few days at the delightful Mia, again. Meanwhile am happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a real bargain stay in a friendly atmosphere.

In Bodrum, Turkey, we stayed at Mia Butik Hotel in the central part of the city. The location was excellent, as it was just a few steps from the main boardwalk on the bay, with lots of restaurants and the usual tourist shops. The Mia Butik rooms were small, but manageable, and very clean. The owner, Olus, was extremely helpful, and prepared the breakfasts for us each morning (beautiful presentation!) on the terrace on the upper level.

We wanted to take a boat tour, and Olus recommended a tour on the Yarali Ceylan boat, which was twice as expensive (50 Turkish lira; still only about 28 USD) as the popular, less expensive tour boats. But we took his advice and had one of the most wonderful days of our 6-week tour of Turkey and Greece. Had we taken the cheaper boat tour, it would have been more crowded and we undoubtedly would not have had such an exceptional experience. So if you choose Mia Butik Hotel in Bodrum, please trust Olus’ advice!

The only problem we had in Bodrum was locating the well-hidden Mia Butik Hotel. We were traveling by car and were unfamiliar with the city. It turns out that Mia Butik Hotel is on a very narrow (walking) street, and our maps didn’t indicate that cars couldn’t drive to the hotel. After much frustration, we finally telephoned Olus at the hotel and he directed us to a street corner near the hotel where he met us, directed us to a parking lot, and helped us carry our luggage to the hotel. We found Bodrum to be a fun city to visit, and the Mia Butik Hotel to be among the very best hotels where we stayed in Turkey.
