“Thank you Toloman”
Reviewed August 2, 2012

My partner and I booked a last minute holiday to Bitez in Turkey and stayed at the Toloman.
It was literally the best hotel on the strip (suited to us!). The staff were extremely friendly and the standard of the rooms were perfect.
Unlike any or all of the other hotels on the strip, Toloman just leave you alone and let you enjoy your time. They don't entice people in to eat at their restaurant or sit on their lounges on the beach. It is a very relaxed and chilled attitude.
All of the other guests we chatted to, had all stayed at Toloman previously and are returning guests. This says alot! I would absolutely stay at Toloman again we thoroughly enjoyed it!

The only thing as a suggestion to Toloman was the restaurant wasn't fantastic - just very standard food. Not an issue at all - there are many wonderful Turkish restaurants very close by.

Room Tip: We had a garden view room which was lovely and quiet and it kept the sun out of the room so the room...

ooms a bit small but had everything you would need - towels, bedding changed every otherday and towels soft! the staff cleaned the outside - round pool and paths several times a day, very well looked atfer hotel. we stayed from 24 June 2012 to 10 July 2012, it was very hot and starting to get a bit to busy for us when we left. All the meals we had were good - some very good - Lemon Tree, The Point and Golden Spoon (if you can be bothered with the staff bothering you all the time (sometimes you cant be bothered with the stupid comments!)

The only down side is the price of having (or buying in supermarket) a drink, found the prices a bit high everwhere. Point was value for money for a double vodka. Good measures!!

Stayed as a couple for a week in july. Was really looking forward to our stay, having read previous reviews.
However, found service lacklustre, food second rate and with no courtesy room on our last day, all in all disappointing.

Positives were...room clean, great beach location and good restaurants close by. In particular, i would recommend the Golden Spoon just 100 yards away.

We are 2 69 year old sister-in-laws and have just spent our 2nd holiday at this brilliant hotel. It is a small family run hotel and is in the most perfect location right on the beach. Yes the rooms are quite small but then there is enough space to change in comfort and they are so clean. Towels changed daily, beds every other day and comfortable, one of the few hotels in Turkey were the pillows have been comfortable We stayed in one of the garden rooms at the back of the pool, lovely and shaded all day, lovely patio area. The staff are great, so friendly from management to cleaners, every-one has a smile for you.It is so good I have just booked to go again in September so that must tell you something.

Stayed in this hotel in September 2011, having stayed in Gumbet 6 times me and the wife decided on something a little quieter, thats what you get in Bitez its generally a lot quieter than Gumbet and the place is virtually deserted after 11pm.
The hotel is nice enough and you are pretty much left alone if your a non regular and that suited me fine, food not great but not bad either and prices ok but drinks are expensive.
Perfect location right on a nice clean beach with plenty of sunbeds, hammocks and bean bags for relaxing.
Small pool round the back when you dont fancy the beach and normally very quiet with plenty sunbeds.
I would happily go back, no real issues with this hotel but nothing outstanding either, i liked been left alone ( ignored ) but others may not be happy with that, certainly not for the young as Bitez is very quiet and laid back, perfect for chill out break. Try it.

First off, would I stay here again? Probably but the owners could do better. The rooms are small and OK there's probably not a lot they can do about this but even the most hotel room should have tea making equipment. Fantastic pool, quiet and you could always get a bed (NB - we went outside of school holidays) and the location, right on the sea-front is superb.

Some brilliant restaurants in Bitez so I would echo the advice to go B&B,

Finally, make sure you book yourself on Ahmet's boat as soon as you get there. It fills up quickly.

Finally, some issues around the rooms but nothing that would spoil your holiday and probably the pool makes up for it so dont worry if you've booked to go there. Just take a travel kettle! :-)

First time in Bitez and first time at the Toloman. Rooms basic but kept very clean by the very hard working maid. Ours overlooked the pool and was fine for us, I hear some rooms in the main building are quite small though. Only thing I would do different would be to bring a travel kettle for that early cup of tea!

Perfect location right on the beach and surrounded by bars and places to eat, Bitez is a laid back resort and not for clubbers, so the central location was at no time an issue. Some music from the hotel next door at night, as others have mentioned but did not bother us.

We went half board but would go bed and breakfast next time (2012!) The breakfast was a buffet style with fruit, hard boiled eggs, meat, bread and cake etc. The food was good at night but as commented in an earlier review the first couple of nights we ate there we felt like 3rd class citizens behind the 'paying' diners who came to eat and the groups of Turkish half boarders. This improved towards the end of the week but with so many great local restaurants to try would not bother with half board again.

We had our best meal in The Almera, 5 mins walk along the front, sea bass was superb and the prices much better than the Eurozone resorts. Large beers were 6 TL along the front (£2.20) and we went on the TA recommended boat trip run by Liz and Ahmet, 7 hours on the lovely boat, 5 bays visited, snorkeling gear provided, lunch at dinner time and fruit late afternoon and all for £16, unbelievable value.

Loved Bitez and will definitely go back again, probably to the Toloman.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool
