“What a fantastic Holidays”
Reviewed August 8, 2011

Stayed for 10 nights at this all inclusive resort with my husband and 2 teenagers. Stayed in a large room which consisted of 2 single beds and a double bed. The Shower room was a good size with plenty of hot water and a large shower head. We had a small balcony which you could not sit out on but still plenty as you could have the door open and we had a lovely sea view and also overlooked the main pool. the main buffet restaurant catered for everyone's tastes and freshly cooked pancakes, omelettes and fried eggs for breakfast were really good. We did not tend to eat in this restaurant for lunch but instead went along to the Turkish Resturant where you could have plenty of salad's, chips, fish, kebabs, etc and look out over the lovely Aegean Sea. We also tended to eat in the Al la Carte Restaurants on the evening as again, the setting was much more appealing than the buffet restaurant. You have to pay for drinks in the Al la Carte restaurants but well worth it as the 3 course menus are amazing. Our favourite was the Italian where the service was exceptional. Please bear in mind that your overall dining experience lasts approximately 2 hours which was perfect as you never felt rushed and you then had the rest of the evening to go along to the bar or go to watch the shows at the Ampitheatre. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. Ersan is a French owned resort with about 80% predominately French holidaying on this resort. Most of the Amnimation Team are French but all the kids (all nationalities) seemed to join in and enjoy the fun!! The Resort is so clean and tidy and you cannot fault it. There are ample sunbeds, although the ones around the pool do seem to go very early. This did not cause us a problem as we liked to lay out right on the edge of the Aegean Sea and watch the world go buy. Bodrum is only a 20min bus ride away and they have a good market on a Tuesday. The Marina is a nice place to stoll around on the evening with plenty of shops. I think the bus ride was about 2.75 Turkish Lira so very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this resort and can't wait to visit again. Thank you Ersan for making it a truely memorable holiday.

On the 18th July we went on our large family holiday to Bodrum. We had 8 rooms as 19 of us travelled. The transfer took over an hour as we were the last drop off. When we arrived we found that we had a very lengthy check in which was frought with problems. Eventually we went to our rooms and these we found to be small but tidy. Some balconies could literally only take one seat. One room had airconditioning problems which took three days to resolve when the manufacturer of the unit rectified the problem. No rooms had any plugs in the sinks and none could be found anywhere. When you think we paid over £1200.00 per person for this holiday we felt a little deflated. On day two we attended the welcoming meeting and watched in dismay as a large party of French holidaymakers arrived at reception and were greeted with nice cool drinks etc. The English tourists never even had a smile to greet us. Anyway the meeting went well and two days later the rep "Andy" left the resort and we had no communication with anyone again. We found Thomas Cook very poor at this particular resort. This resort caters mainly for the French and at least 70% of the people staying were indeed French, with at best only about 20% English. The entertainment in the evening consisted of a man with his guitar singing in French twice aweek. There are only two bars and one of these closes at 2230 and the last one closes at midnight. There is NO BEACH!! Do not be under any ullusion that there is as we all did. All you have is wooden decking areas, which caused numerous injuries to tourists with big splinters in the feet. There is a sign up saying please wear shoes at all times but with children running around accidents with splinters is enevitable. Ever pool is surrounded in the wooden decking also. To add more problems to the day there are numerous cactus plants in all areas of the grounds and some of these have needles which are over an inch long. Again the resort has put signs up with a picture of a thorny plant and a hand touching it. Again children are not that observant of signs and accidents will happen. There is one General Resturant which can only be described as a massive canteen. It has every type of food on display and you should not go hungry. There are four a la carte resturants and your starter and main are free. You will pay for dessert and you have to pay for your drinks. The drinks are a real con and you will pay approx £30 for a bottle of wine. Do not be fooled in thinking you can go to the free bar first and then have your meals without having any drinks. One couple did exactly this and waited over two hours to be served with there meal. The next time they bought drinks and were served promptly. If you want to get any kind of a good service at the bars or main restuarnant you have to tip. A few lira in the right persons hands will ensure you get a steady flow of wine and beers with your meals. We tipped a young lad called carrarre in the bar each night and this ensured we never had to queue up for drinks. He used to come over and check up on us every 15 mins and restock drinks as they went low. Our party have had many holidays abroad and I have written several reviews which have all been very positive, unfortunatly on this occasion I am having to write a very negative review as this place for us was not very good. I would certainly not recommend this place to anyone. I will also think twice about booking with Thomas Cook. Our flights however could not have been better and I do thank Thomas Cook for a faultless flight in both directions. On our departure from the hotel we all piled into a coach and all our bags were neatly placed on board. We left and headed to the airport without a rep, We arrived at Bodrum and instead of heading to the airport we headed out of the town in the opposite direction and pulled into a dusty old car park where we sat without a rep for 30 mins. Then a 53 seater coach arrived and we found we had to move over to that coach to take us to the airport. This was a real pain. We met the transfer rep for the first time and she basically sat at the front for 40 mins reading a book and then with five mins to go she asked us all if we could spare cash for the coach driver as he had 16 children and 2/3 wives. She then gave us a two minute chat on how the airport is military run and they cannot come in with us. Bodrum airport has very limited eating/drinking areas and the ones it has, are very expensive. 5 Euros for a small portion of chips and 8 Euros for a burger. Take food with you and drink your water before you go into the security areas as they will take this away from you. Good luck if you have booked the Ersan Resort & Spa as we all went down with upset stomachs and no-one was spared. We are glad to be home.......

For the other comments,it is your opinion we respect. But we know that many guest are leaving with the good memories from our hotel...

This was one of the most clean, beautiful and exotic places I have been to. The situation is exquisite and picturesque. I would definitely return and recommend to everyone. The staff were polite and couldnt do enough for you. The buses were very convenient and frequent into Bodrum and ran until late at night at a reasonable price.

Very good location once you have arrived. Great views in a quiet area outside Bodrum. Resort covers a wide sea frontage with many sunbathing areas and plenty of sunloungers. Well equipped complex with water slides, swimming areas, gym and complimentary canoes and pedaloes. Main restaurant is very busy at dinner but still has a few areas which are much quieter. Food is generally very palatable with wide variety at breakfast, lunch and dinner and drinks were easily obtained with a few cocktails at extra cost. Lunch at the sea front snack bar is bliss. The A La Carte restaurants were a little disappointing and I couldnt quite understand the extra cost for drinks. Good swimming, rooms very adequate and clean. The entertainment was mainly for the French as was the animation during the day but you could hide away in many areas around the complex. It has to be said the French are generally quite rude but overall the Ersan provided us with a lovely holiday break.

Room Tip: We were in the main hotel block but there were superior rooms away from the hotel which were very go...

Having arrived in the early hours of the morning we were very happy with what greeted us..the reception area is lovely big and very clean, they had us checked in and in our room within 15 minutes.
And when we got to the room we were more than happy as we had been put in one of the superior rooms which were to a very high standard, great size room with a kingsize bed and a double sofa bed for our 8year old daughter also a lovely bathroom with walk in shower.the main room had a LCD tv with some English channels and had fresh bottled water and clean sheets and towels daily.
They have three pools at the hotel, consisting of infinity pool, kids slide pool, and the main pool all of which have plenty of sun beds, the only downside of the main pool is that it does not have a drinks bar in it, even though it is only a 2 minute walk to the closest one 'TUANA BAR'( by the beach). The kids slide pool has a drinks bar. The infinity pool has the 'pruva bar' close by too.
The dredded towel on the sun beds really is not a problem, you could easily get beds at least till 10am ish, there are so many beds by all the pools and the beach, that there is plenty for all.
You do not have to take towels should you wish not to, as the hotel supply beachtowels fresh every day, from the 'towel bar', which is located next to the Tuana Bar.
Food : every day there IS something for everyone,
BREAKFAST: fresh fruit, cereals, fresh egg cooking section(fried/boiled/poached) and omelettes cooked fresh for you.lots of different pastries, and the usual cooked beans( not hard bullets, nice and tasty ones) sausage, and freshly cooked pancakes. The usual fresh hams and cheeses etc.
LUNCH/DINNER: Again all the usual salads, hams, cheeses, and good healthly kids section and a diet section, with things like boiled chicken, steamed chicken etc. The main section had plenty to choose from steaks to stuffed tomatoes, chilli, fresh fish fillets, jacket potatoes, meatballs, spaghetti, chicken fillets. There really is anything for all. We would say this is a def 4 star European all inclusive ( maybe not the 5 star) we have stayed in plenty of 3 stars and this was much much better. There is drinks available at all mealtimes, water at the tables allways and the waiters will get you any other drinks like wine, beer and soft drinks, this can be sometimes a little slow, but it really is because they are sooo busy, cleaning tables etc. But in general we found this ok. We never had a problem getting table, even at the busiest of times.
Entertainment: this was OK, geared towards to French rather than English,as in the translation, English was always second!but is was entertaining to a fashion. We did not really stay in the amphitheatre to watch it all the time.we were quite aware of what is was going to like before so we actually took laptop and DVDs to watch in the room.you have ever been to egjyt then this is what the entertainment is like!!
The entertainment team: they work very hard to get people involved in activities around by the pool and other places etc. They did not pressure you if you said no. Lots of exercise things like aqua gym! And then other things like step and ping pong challenges too.
The Shop: very reasonable priced for being on site, English papers(THE SUN 5TL), and ice- creams about 3TL (so about £1.50) and if you do forget suntan creams etc that's too badly priced either at about £8. In all pretty good.
THE AL A CARTE RESTAURANTS: these all have to be booked in advance, and we have been told that they were ok, not brilliant but good for a change of scenery to eat. You do need to pay for drinks in here, wine is quite dear but you can get water in there at an ok price.
Room check out is 12 midday, we didn't pay extra to stay there really is no need, there is a secure concierge area to keep the suitcases all day. And after a day in the sun there is a courtesy shower room to get freshened up and changed for the evening. We did not fly till 4 am, and so pick up was not till half past midnight. We had a great evening in the Pruva bar and then relaxed in the lobby till coach arrived. Really no hassles at all.
There is a lovely chill out decked area, where you can get coffee and juice 24 hrs, very good for the early risers ( before the breakfast starts) for a morning coffee to sit by the sea with. ( which I did most mornings :0) ).
FREE WI-FI you can get great signal in the lobby, the decked area and also in the restaurant too. In certain areas by the main pool a faint signal too.
Bus ride to Bodrum: there are small buses that go to and from Bodrum all day and evening, 2.75TL per person each way, it takes only about 15 mins each way, very easy to use and ok for a slight change of scenery, and plenty of places to get some fakey bags, watches and sunglasses etc.DON'T forget to haggle !!!
The superior rooms are a must, they are up on the hill so there are a few steps or the slopes are a bit easier! But even still it only takes 5 mins to walk to the main pool or any other area really. There is also a ' ring service' which is a little buggy that drives around and will take people to and from their rooms FREE !! no need to moan about the steps really!!!
The spa is a must visit too, we had a Turkish bath(pasha) it only cost 70TL for 2 adults and they also bathed our 8 yr daughter for free, very relaxing and well worth the visit.

We have visited many European and other destinations as a family and this was a first visit to Turkey and we will be going back for sure !!!

In all we had a brilliant time and would def go back and would recommend it to anyone.

Overall we had a nice time as a few people have stated the resort was mainly French. Most of the French where OK but I did have a run in with one but I put him in his place. We did have some noisy French people next to us but we had a word with the staff at reception and the noise stopped. The Turkish staff were very friendly, helpful and worked hard keeping the grounds and the rooms clean. There where a lot of steps and some steep hills but thankfully there was a buggy service which you get a ride on.

One think we thought was a bit wrong was the drinks we paid for an all-inclusive holiday but drinks weren't part of the deal if you went to one of the restaurants (Taps, Italian etc) other than the main restaurant. Also the food in the main restaurant was a bit same, same after a while.

Also there was a kids disco however; it was the same theme and music each night (very boring)

We took a trip into Bodrum which was pretty straight forward (there where buses you could catch outside the hotel) This broke up the holiday a bit and was worth doing just for the mad ride into town!!

It was the first time we had been away with our daughter she loved it especially the aqua slide it was a shame there weren't many English people around when we where there but more English where arriving on the day we left.

I wouldn't go back to the Ersan and wouldn't recommend it unless you can speak or are French....

we went to this resort as it was highly recommended by our private travel agent. But as soon as we got there the rooms which we had ordered six months in advance didnt even exist! we had booked with a group of friends who have two teenage daughters, and with our teenage daughter a room was booked for them to share. we believed that this room would be a 'thro' room and that my husband , myself and our ten year old son would all be more or less together. Our friends room, which was also booked six months in advance, was supposed to have a sea view. Guess what? The teenage girls were on a seperate floor in another part of the hotel altogether, our friends were actually on that same corridor but approx six doors down and myself, my husband and son were put into a 'promotion' room miles away from anywhere. It was dark, smelled of damp, no view whatsoever and if we had stayed in there for only one night we would have ended up with emphasema!! We moved, after speaking to the staff at reception but to the tune of an extra 200 quid!! after the move we actually enjoyed the rest of the holiday but the holiday, which was expensive enough in the first place cost us an extra £200.00, which was part of our spending money. we have waved bye bye to that. just to add tho' this resort is geared up for the French! who are, by the way, extremely rude! Benidorm next year!!

Room Tip: book in plenty of time and double check the room which you have booked. make sure that its not a pro...
