“cheap but cheerful”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2010

just returned from a week at the bantur-naz, and overall it was a wicked holiday! The rooms are basic and purely for sleeping in, no balconies or terraces with any of the rooms even though when booking we were told we had one! U have the bonus of free air con which was great, the bathrooms were ok, bit grim and had mostly cold showers but not dirty just old. They cleaned the rooms daily for you and cahnged towels etc daily aswell.
The food was good, had different grill options daily and also hot and cold dishes on the buffet,. Breakfast was basic with eggs, fruit and bread, and the lunch was good with choices of pizza, toasties, meatballs burgers etc. ( lunch was served at the poolbar and sometimes u felt rushed as tables were limited)
The guys that worked there made our holiday and were so friendly but in a non sleazy way. They were always chatty and smily even though they worked all day everyday!
The best part of the hotel was the location, it was very central with bar street being no more than a 5 min walk.
Be warned though that as we were leaving and the hotel was almost full, it was a fight for a sunbed if didnt get it before 10 and people then overflowed to the poolside bar which was also limited for chairs.
Downsides: cold showers, no water on 2 occasions, 1 powercut (although came back on quite quickly) no balconies to chill on, room walls were paper thin and u could hear music from local bars and people coming home.
Plussides: fab team of guys working there, good location, good food, free air con!!

You get what u pay for and if u get a good deal like we did then its a good basic hotel to go to.
We also visited a turkish bath as u do, there was a good excursions place jus down the hill from the hotel on the corner as u turned down the side street to go to bar street, it cost us £15 including a full back massage. Also a nice restaurant to visit is "the garden" its in the shopping street and the food was lovely.

Enjoy!!

Im a big fan of Turkey as I have visited previously and had a fantastic time. This was my first holiday with my 22month old son. After doing a little research on the hotel and how it prides itself on excellent service and being brill for kids this is my feedback......

If you like to wake at 3pm in the morning to the sound of cochroaches tappng away on the bathroom floor then Bantur Naz is the place to be.

If you enjoy burning hot and freezing cold running showers at the same time then Bantur Naz is the place to be.

If you like watching one T.V channel in english after faffing to get a decent reception for 20 minutes then Bantur Naz is the place to be.

If you like feta cheese, cucumber, boiled eggs everyday for breakfast then Bantur Naz is the place to be.

If you prefer to eat everything coated in a layer of cold batter followed by a sour choice of Turkish food for Dinner everynight, with not an english muffin or slice of toast in sight then Bantur Naz is the place to be.

If you want crap accessability, tons of wet stairs to slide along with your buggy and ABSOLUTLEY NO SAFETY ASPECT for toddlers then Bantur Naz is the place to be.

If you want to be on tender hooks that your little one could slip into the pool at any given point as there is nothing to prevent this happening, thus resulting in you not being able to sit on a sun lounger for more than 2 minutes at any given time then Bantur Naz is the place for you.

I'm no fuddy duddy and love a good night out but if you want loud music blasting out in all hours of the morning then Bantur Naz is the place to be.

After all that the hotel staff were very pleasent and as helpful as they could be but to be honest, I wish I had paid a little extra and gone somewhere with a higher rating. This hotel is below average. I didnt make allowance for having to eat out everyday when budgeting as I was all inclusive. Because the food was so bad my spending money had to be spent on feeding myself and child outside of the hotel which ended up being quite pricy. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you have have children. Waste of time, waste of money, waste of energy!!!!

The staff is great...very helpful although they don't speak much english.
The food is ok...not so much varied, but hey it's a buffet so you can mix :)
The rooms are quite small and the furniture is rather old...but everything works, including the AC.
The pool(s)...very clean and small.
About the location , it's on a hill people...so there are STAIRS! :d near the city center
vis a vis it's a disco so sometimes you can hear the music until 3 am.
About the beach it's rocky and at a rather small distance from the shore you see docked ships.apparently bodrum is turkey's favorite yacht port.

Paid just over £300 for one weeks all inclusive during school holidays. As long as your expectations are realistic you will have an enjoyable time, the good points are the air con.[no extra charge] rooms cleaned daily.Food and drinks passable but rooms in need of updating, if poss try to get a room near reception much quieter. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the beach and is a good base, very few english when we were there but most of staff ok

Booked as a last min bargain holiday so had no idea what to expect, read reviews so had a mixed opionon when arrived!! Had booked a triple room and when we first arrived couldn't swing a cat in the room, when we spoke to reception he was waiting for us to say something as we were in wrong room!! Not many rooms had balconys we just had a few windows, rooms were very basic but we didn't expect much for the money we paid and to be honest we went on holiday not to spend it all in the room. Air con was fine. Not many British in resort at the time we went, mainly french and german. Food was suprisingly good, bfast was a little dull, but lunch was ala carte snack menu and evening meal was large salad buffet with few hot choices, one of our friends was a fussy eater and she found something everynight she enjoyed. eating out was fairly cheap too. Location is fantastic, 10 min walk to sea front bars and restaurants.

The Bantur Naz was offered to us as an alternative to a B&B hotel we had attempted to book. It was only when we arrived that we discovered it was all inclusive!

The rooms were basic but clean. We were pleasantly surprised (and relieved in the July heat!) to find there was free air con and a fridge in the room. The shower was a bit temperamental but adequate.

The pools were lovely. I am usually a bit of a beach bum but Bodrum beach is small and extremely crowded. Get the bus to Bitez if beaches are your thing. As the other reviews have mentioned, Bodrum and in particular this hotel are predominately German/French. There were occasions when we put our towels on the loungers in the early hours of the morning as we were coming back from a night out in order to secure a sunbed! Having said that, even on the days when we were late to get up, we did always manage to find a bed somewhere. For a parasol, you will need to be up early.

Breakfast was ok - the usual continental style. Lunch was good - pizza, omelette with chips etc. Cakes and bread were brought out every day at around 5pm. We went out every night for dinner.

The majority of the staff are extemely friendly and helpful. One even remembered what drinks we wanted. There were just a couple of exceptions - one slightly grumpy waiter and a couple of times we had to remind staff we were still waiting for our drinks.

On our last day, we came into the lobby from the pool to get clothes out of our cases - we had planned to get changed in the loos - and the man on reception took us to a spare room so we could use the shower. I know this is often standard practice if you ask but it was nice of them to offer.

One little word of warning. On our last night we were told by a local to never walk up the road the Bantur Naz is on alone in the dark. We didn't run into any problems at all but it isn't that well lit and is very quiet late at night so I suppose it's common sense really.

Make sure you save some money for your last day - for some reason you have to pay for your drinks and food after 12 on your day of departure. They did let us have our lunch (ordered at 12) for free though and we helped ourselves to water and cakes later.

Finally, the food at Hey Maurama Hey (restaurant with tables and bean bags right on the beach) is fabulous.
