“Great view”

A small hotel on the hill overlooking the harbour and the castle. A short stroll down to the harbour. Wonderful view from the shared terrace (between 3 rooms) outside of the rooms. Candle light dinner by the pool offer the same view at night. The owner and the staff are very friendly and speaks good English.

I stayed here for two nights. My bedroom overlooked the infinity pool with wonderful views of the bay and Bodrum Castle. The hotel is built on a steep slope with stone steps leading down to rooms on different levels with colourful plants cascading down the steps on each side. The breakfasts were good again with wonderful views. The hotel is not far from the centre but you need good legs for the climbing hill back to the hotel. The hotelier and staff were friendly and I enjoyed my stay.

This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in over our many years of travel. The setting is breathtaking. The rooms are artistically presented, very comfortable, and have lovely linens. They are a bit small but you want for nothing. The swimming pool, sitting areas and gardens are beautifully designed and are charming. And, you will love the owner and staff.....they make you feel very much at home. This is truly an oasis.

My husband and I stayed in Bodrum for 6 days. We stayed at the Antique Theatre, and the hotel contributed so much to the pleasure of our stay there. It has been designed by a great architect. The units fall in a cascade manner on both sides of a stone staircase, to end in a beautiful swimming pool, with one of the best views of the town and the sea. The rooms were well planned and decorated, and each one of them has a terrace, covered with flowers and climbing vines, with a magnificent view of the bay and the marina. The interior of the rooms was designed by the owner's wife, a professional interior decorator. They are simple, yet serene and very functional. I know we will be back

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view

My husband and I stayed at the hotel In September, during Carnival Bodrum, for part of a multi-week trip to Turkey and the Greek islands. The facility was lovely and well-kept. The rooms and bathroom were small but our room had a small loveseat and a private patio with lounge chairs and vari-colored overhanging plants. The view from our patio was outrageously gorgeous, including the roofscape of Bodrum, the harbor , the castle, and the far harbor with the Halicarnassus disco lights, windmills, and the Aegean. One reviewer said they were treated rudely; we were not. The innkeeper, (later we found out was the daughter of the owner), just substituting on her holiday over from Toronto, was most helpful. She helped to rearrange our car rental to be delivered to the hotel, instead of picking up the car at the airport to depart on the next leg of our journey. When we had a medical issue, she was also very helpful. For the most part, you felt rather pampered but left alone, because of the remoteness of the hotel away from the harbor. You felt like you were in the city but not at a resort. Almost a resident of Bodrum. At night we took taxis back to the hotel but in the daytime we hiked the hill. The pool is stunning and we did have it to ourselves most of the time. One evening we had dinner by the pool, more for the night views than for the food - which was not fabulous, just decent, - I would suggest having your evening cocktails by the pool to soak up the ambience, then head out for a late dinner/disco. Breakfast was rather good however. We didn't try lunch. The nearness to the antique theater was convenient but not a major issue since it is in the process of excavation/renovation (isn't everything?) and a minor attraction. Don't choose the hotel because of it. Choose this hotel if you don't mind walking and getting exercise on vacation and if you don't like big chain smoothness or resort hotels filled with tourists and families The plants are beautiful, the architecture one-of-a-kind, artwork an eclectic mix, all-in-all a unique and worthwhile stop, although expensive. And, yes, the mattresses are extremely hard - but my back loved the support after a long walk around Bodrum. Perhaps a honeymoon hotel?

Room Tip: "Priene", one of two rooms with private patios, had no neighbors, very quiet and beautiful...

Don't be put off by the location on a main road, as the hotel goes down the hill and the rooms are very quiet. The elevated view of Bodrum across the hotel's swimming pool is magnificent. The rooms may not be large but have everything you need and the linen was excellent. The table and chairs just outside the door were a great spot to sit and enjoy the scenery. The owner speaks fluent English so was very helpful. It has a lot more character than a standard hotel which we appreciated. Would definitely stay there again.

I stayed for 2 nights in late September and was delighted with the situation, pool and above all the wonderful service from all the staff, (especially the owner who spoke excellent English and who sorted out all of our transport problems). My room was certainly not small and the air conditioning was both effective and quiet! Breakfast was buffet style with eggs also cooked to order and as much tea and coffee as one could wish for. Enjoyed one meal by the pool which was beautifully cooked.
Would be happy to return.

Room Tip: By the pool if you want a private early morning swim!
