The Museum Of Underwater Archeology in Bodrum
Visitors to Bodrum should start with the castle of Knights of John, which is a great witness to the amazing history of the castle. Thanks to efforts of Turkish and foreign scholars who carried out successful archeological digs both on land and at sea, the castle has turned into one of the greatest Underwater Archeology Museums of the world. The museum starts an Amphora Park, where visitors enjoy various types of amphorae (discovered during the Underwater excavations) coming from famous wine producing centers of the ancient world. The old Spanish Chapel now houses the artifacts From famous Yassiada Wreck or East Roman Ship. The Glass Wreck Section of the museum has a most stunning display of Islamic Fatimi glass objects discovered at Serçe Limani and well protected the hull of the ship. Bronze Age Section of the museum display artifacts coming from oldest shipwrecks such as Gelidonya (12. Century BC), Seytan Deresi (16.century BC) and Uluburun (14. Century BC) vessels. The museum has also Glass Exhibit Hall and Carian Princess Room.
