The castle is centuries old and the artefacts on display have been discovered from underwater wrecks from many centuries ago. Some were even as old as 100 B.C. Even without the exhibits the Castle is worth a visit. The views of the coastline are amazing and the descriptive leaflet is very informative. The peacocks in the courtyard are quite entertaining as well.

This was truly interesting! The museum is incorporated into the castle. There is information on all the shipwrecks where important finds were made. One particularly interesting video about how the glass shards from one shipwreck were pieced together and reassembled into glassware! After watching the video one goes through to the showrooms where you can see the various items that were featured in the film. Inspiring. The collection of amphoras is also something to behold.

This museum is located in St John's castle, so not only do you get to explore this wonderful crusader's castle in a beautiful setting, but you get to visit a one of a kind underwater museum. You get to see 2 ancient ships brought up from the seabed which are fascinating, you get to feel what life was like aboard these ancient vessels. Other parts of the museum included artifacts found amongst these shipwrecks, including amphora, glass, coins, jewelry etc. Plan at least a half day at this great museum.
