“Facinating”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

Have been there some approx 20 years ago. Considered one of the most important museums in the world. The building is under construction, so you will only be able to see two halls. Yes you still have to pay full fare (15TL per person), but believe me it is worth every penny. The museum is in the "Ankara Kalesi" so once you get there, you will still have some more stuff to see around. There are ancient Anatolian civilizations' artifacts that is only available in this museum.

“Only 1 room is open but you still pay full admission”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

We stayed at the Divan Hotel up the street so we walked here and although we were told only one room was open, we still went in. It was worth it but a bit of a disappointment to be still charged full price. There were many students there and they like talking to foreigners.

“Only 1 hall is open at the moment. Admission 15TL. Lovely grounds, provides lookout point of Ankara.”

Beautiful pieces for those interested in ancient civilizations. Most pieces have write ups in Turkish and English. Was disappointed that only 1 of the 5 halls was open.

The place is currently under renovation and we were only able to see the main hall..they charged us full fee nonetheless :-(( What we saw though was good..the relics and antiques were great.
