“Spacious government university in Quezon City, good place to relax and exercise on sundays”

This is a big government school in Quezon City. It has spacious grounds with lots of trees. Portion of the main circumferential road are close to vehicle traffic on sundays and are only open to joggers, runners and bikers. The road have big trees on the side giving a relaxing and "one with nature" feeling. There are also open areas for campers or families who want to go on picnic, play ground games, badminton, etc. There are street vendors along the way, drinks and street food are readily available, ample free parking spaces, bathrooms are quite rare because you have to go to school buildings to use it (most of it are close on sundays?). A superb place for relaxation on sundays. Of course, if you go here on weekdays and Saturdays, its a different story, expect multitudes of students clogging the place!

The university ground and side streets is spacious. Soo good for running. Specially during the early ours of the morning. Full of trees and everything green. Refreshing and relaxing, so liberating for runners who gets relaxation thru introspection by running!!! Very nice

University of the Philiipines is the country's state university that has produced the country's statesmen, government bureaucrats, professionals and world renowned scientists. Existing for decades, the school enjoys its independent charter that provides for creativity and flexibility for the administration and faculty to provide for an academic curriculum that is responsive to the needs of the changing environment. The campus spans more than 500 hectares in the middle of Quezon City and has its own distinctive ambiance of tree-lined streets, two lagoons a sunken garden and well landscaped surroundings. During weekends, many city resident drive to campus not to attend classes but to while the time in various sports and hobbies. Sketching the trees, hiking, biking, jogging. You will see kids, teenie boppers, families, young professionals and even retirees trying to keep fit running the oval which spans 3 kilometers. Not only does the Unversity of the Philippines the hallmark of academic freedom but it has also metamorphosed into a weekend getaway creating a destination park for those who seek tranguility and nature in the concrete jungle of Metro-Manila.

the UP campus is a good place to start your day. w/ friends, one can jog or stroll or just move around amidst the greens and paved streets on a sunny morning. there are also places to eat and ambulant vendors w/ very good tasting delicacies in strategic places around UP. there are also "ikot" jeeps w/c can take you around the campus. there are well known churches inside, that one can visit for a short prayer or meditation. It is a breathe of (fresh) air, away from the smog and polluted metro. But the real attraction is the wave of students coming and going on a busy weekday. it makes one feel young again, like you belong, like college life (and love) all over again.

Inside the university complex is a huge oval track with a mini forest at the middle, and with a distance of 2.3 kilometer circumference,it is a very nice place to train or excercise either for biking or simple jogging especially on weekends where family come here together to bond. But the only problem i observerd is the cars especially jeepneys plying the UP route that pumps lots of diesel fumes that affect the health of people unlike in the more advance country that had a cleaner air,but again if you measure it to the standard air quality based on metro manila, its a lot better compare to other university.
