This restaurant is relatively new in Manila. It first started in Tagaytay. I have been wanting to try this for a long time but the original location was not easy to get to. I was happy when it opened in Manila last year. I brought my family there for Mother's day. They were full to the rafters. The fresh spring rolls were good as well as the pork belly and the beef stew. The Bawais salad made of heart of the coconut palm was excellent. The chicken curry was not as exceptional as the pork and the beef. The place is tastefully done with glass windows overlooking the Marikina valley was a plus. Considering the lunch crowd for Mother's day, the service was pretty good and the staff was very friendly and efficient. Will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Visited for the first time last Saturday for a late lunch. With small nice garden setting. Restaurant ambiance is homey with nice wood design. Airconditioning is very good considering the heat outside.

Waiters are pleasant and serves with a smile. Their Pho noodle dish is just good for 1 head and not for 2-3 as indicated in the menu list. Appetizers is good for sharing by 2 heads only. While Bawai's salad which tastes good as well as the grilled pork liempo and grilled lemongrass sole fillet can be shared by 2-3 heads.

Will definitely visit the place again.

I was craving for some Vietnamwe ordere food particularly for some pho and spring rolls. We always eat at Pho Hoa but decided to try Bawais so we didnt have to go inside the mall and get hassled with parking. We were there sunday lunchtime. When we entered the resto it was bright and had a good view of the metro. It had a fine dining vibe to it. When you look at the menu in the appetizers section, it was written that it was good gor sharing and even the noodles are good for 2 persons. So we ordered the fried spring rolls and the seafood noodles with soup. When the spring rolls arrived they were 5 average sized pcs with 2 pcs each of lettuce and cucumber. It's cost was around 260 pesos. The taste was just ok. The dipping sauce gave it the kick it needed. We had our soup split into two and when it
arrived the bowl was small it I would refer it as a mangkok. The noodles were a bit scanty too. The soup was delicious and we wished there was more. For 380 pesos I was ecpecting more. It definitely wasn't good for 2. The entrees are expensive too with small servings. All in all the food was good, ambiance of the place was very nice, I just think its not worth the splurge.

Its good, but not authentic. The chicken curry was too runny, doesnt really have rich flavors to it. The fried spring roll tasted like lumpiang shanghai. Would suggest you order the fresh lumpia imstead.

main dishes serving is big good for sharing . appetizers are heathy but expensive. waiters needs more training to control missing dishes ordered by guest & also guide guest from over ordering. Pho Bo never intended to be take away food if missed by the kitchen to deliver on time. price P800+/head is almost similar to paseo de uno restaurant buffet at 5 star mandarin oriental makati after bdo titanium promo 50% discount so quite expensive for pho bo & fresh wrap spring rolls. cook is a filipino so food taste not as authentic as i have tasted in Vietnam for over 10 years now. honestly a bit of a disappointment since was expecting original grandma ( Bawai ) to oversee the kitchen or at least 2nd generation kids guarding the family heriloom recipe instead of a cook with no vietnamese ancestry. Bawai salads lacks the herbs celantro & taste I yearn so much from my Vietnamese food trip in Hochimin ( never be skimpy on your herbs & spices) . shrimp paste in sugar cane is excellent must try. pho bo & other soups were big disappointment lacks intense flavoring & herbs smell. in Vietnam , restaurant always give whole plates of fresh garden lettuce & vegetable as complimentary siding for wrapping all appetizers & added to pho bo . pork chop is to fatty & oily . Ambience is nice & elegant. overall I rather drive 2 hours to cavite for original Bawai home cooking simple & flavourful instense in aroma. in summary , experience was a major disappointment seems profit too over passion & love for food. a chef passion for FOOD in like falling in LOVE for the 1st time everytime cooking. HAPPY NEW NEAR
