“Sad to see them go”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

My first time to eat Cello's doughnuts --- the outlet was zero ambience. The waitress wasn't enthusiastic even if I was engaging her to talk, since I was so excited to try a piece of their creation.

The kitchen at the waitress's back was exposed. I could see small bowls of icing seated next to one another --- it didn't look hygienic.

Glum, that's the word. No mood, no sugary spirits... The donuts were good, they were soft, comfy and sweet --- tasted like Go Nuts Doughnuts (the best donuts in the country, I think).

“Get creative with your doughnuts!”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

I like Cello's doughnuts more than Krispy Kreme. Just because this is not as well-known doesn't mean that they're not good. It's a local brand but deserves a high rating. They also have a lot of flavors to offer, but the most popular are the cheese and oreo. They have bite-size versions of doughnuts, and you can personalize them because they also have alphabet-shaped donuts - very creative. They dip the doughnuts in your choice of toppings as you order so they're warm and fresh. I recommend this to everyone!

“Local-style Doughnuts!”
Reviewed August 15, 2011

These doughnuts are lighter an more airy than your average American doughnut. Some people say that it tastes cheap and has a "panaderia" (local neighborhood bakery) feel and texture to it. But for me it's part of its charm, and it's a nice variation from the heavy, overly-sweet doughnuts from those big American chains. They offer local flavors too like cheese and chocnut (local brand of nutty chocolate, I'd say this is our national candy bar) and other regular ones like strawberry, peanut butter, cookies and cream, etc. They offer some doughnuts that you dip in chocolate too. Good variety of flavors! A must-try along the Katipunan area.
