G Hotel Manila by Waterfront

The hotel is centrally located, right by Roxas Blvd and almost corner of Quirino Avenue, so it is in a very convenient location especially if you are going or coming from the airport.
The check in was a breeze, staff were helpful and very attentive. The only problem we had there was the hot water in the bathroom was not working but somebody from engineering came by to fix the problem within 10 minutes of my call.
The cafe noir on the first floor where the breakfast buffet is served is quite small and not big enough to cater for the hotel guests. The food choices are limited but good.

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel and it was ok for a short stay. The hotel itself is in a great location, opposite Manila Bay and close to the old part of town. The room I had didn't have a bay view, just a view of buildings and a car park. The breakfast was adequate although i was amazed when I took what I thought was a boiled egg, cracked it and discovered it was raw! I told a waiter and he told me it was so that guests could select how they wanted their eggs cooked. It seems strange to me to put raw eggs out on display with no sign! In fact I wasn't very impressed by the overall service at breakfast and often had to ask for things while other people were being served all the time. The food choice for dinner was good, I ate there once. The swimming pool is more like a jacuzzi and when I went to take a look, it was full of kids splashing around.

What a coincidence. The last hotel I stayed in was Alfred & Victoria at the Waterfront in Capetown. Now, the G hotel by Waterfront in Manila. Stayed overnight for a layover prior to a cruise. The "G" stands for the name of the architect (Gerry Alcaraz). Check-in was a breeze; took all of a minute (a record so far). The room was adequate with a large bathroom (easily twice the size compared to other hotels). The overhead aircon with remote made it cozy and comfortable. After settling in, ordered Grande pizza from their Cafe Noir (very yummy!) with beer. Was ready to hit the sack when I realized quite a problem. Adjacent to my room was a construction of the Admiral hotel-condominium. There was continuous humming of the generator, clanging of steel, occasional chainsaw or welding; the noise cannot be drowned out by the volume of the TV. So if you are planning on an early night's rest, forget it. Wait until eight, then it stops. In the morning, the fix starts again at six; hammer, hammer . . . I know it is beyond the control of the hotel but when I asked when the construction would be completed: 2015!!! Oh my G!

Room Tip: Odd-numbered rooms are farther away from the construction, so you may have a better chance of good s...

This hotel is not too bad but the experience we have at this hotel was terrible, yes the staff is nice and helpful but this does not change that this hotel is located next to roxas boulevard and they do not have any window soundproof so imagine all night the noise you get from traffic then they did not said anything but we see a note in the room that said sorry for the construction next door, yes you have a 24hr construction going one it looks like the g hotel is expanding next door when it will be finish may be it will be ok but it should take at least 1 year minimum, anyway no way to sleep so if you book for 1 night its ok but don't book for more, the wi fi is very weak, when i book the hotel i look at picture of the room, and they looks nice but in real its a differente story,i'm actually executive hotel worker for a large worlwide hotel company, the price is not too low as well what i'm trying to sayit is that what your spend it is not worst at all, they have a little swimming pool on a 7 floor full of dust that no one clean,in my next trip with my family in manilla i think we will have to choose a differente hotel no question about it,well for us its vacation not a business trip so we like to relax but you defenetly can't even with hearplug, breackfast was not bad on a lobby restaurant entrance of the hotel but only when a manager was in charge of it or the hostess very pretty really does not no how to handle may be they was new or on training, and sometimes we go to the lobby and they tell us that the breackfast will be serve on 7 floor a bit strange isn't it,yes when the construction will be over it can be a nice place but still you have trffic all night,as you know malate is mostly a night place, anyway we learn for the next trip, make sure you ask if the construction is over as they did not put on them website.I forget the tv is pretty old style for the price of the room it is not right ,no way to take a bath the water was not hot enough unfortunetly, yes we call ingeneering couple of times but not really helpful

Room Tip: don't choose any because of the construction

Room Tip: Try to get a bay view room otherwise you end up just looking at old buildings.

location: right where you want to be for dining and music. staff: friendly, caring, but not very competent. rooms: unless you get one in the front, your view will be of an airshaft or a parking lot (most of the rooms). they are quite spacious though and even feature a small kitchenette; bathrooms could use an update. aircon working well (important there) beds are good. cleanliness is satisfactory. restaurant has interesting food choices, and quality is super, better than expected from a hotel in this 3 star class. wifi can be spotty, depending on where you are in the building. pool is tiny and looks like an afterthought, next to a not-happening bar.

Room Tip: for a view, stay in the front. that will be noisy, however; I have done this on a previous stay. the...
