“Informative Tour”
Reviewed June 1, 2012

So we succumbed to getting a tour guide but do not regret it one bit. Our guide was actually a History Professor who volunteers here (jackpot!). Needless to say, we got our monie's worth. I came out knowing so much about Fort Santiago, a crash course on Philippine history and Jose Rizal thanks to our quirky, fun and interactive tour guide!

“Old Philippines history”
Reviewed May 14, 2012

Located at the tip of Intramuros, Fort Santiago is an attraction in a similar vein, with old battlements and worn stone walls. Fantastic gardens are a real highlight, and the different areas inside Fort Santiago are all very well marked. The Rizal Shrine is an important historic site, and the views from the end of the Fort are lovely. Certainly worth the $75 peso entry fee.

“A moving place”
Reviewed May 11, 2012

This is a moving place to visit. A lot of history from Spanish times to WW2 - the gardens are well kept and it really is pleasant to stroll around and after enjoy a cool drink at the cafe.

“Beauty in history!”
Reviewed May 4, 2012

Finally was able to visit the place where I read only in history books. The grounds where wonderful. And it feels like I could glimpse what its like at the end of the Spanish era in the Philippines. It's a place to learn a little bit of history in the Philippines.
