“Dirty, but amazing!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012

There is something amazing about this location, the poverty and rubbish make you realise that there is two sides to this country. Be careful at night walking along the bay walk alone.

“Beautiful”

This is a great view from a Manila Bay hotel like the sofitel. Well worth taking time from your busy schedule and watching at sunset.

“Have a stop here...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2012

There were many people walked alongside the Bay...We sat on the bank looking at the sunset. The water smelled not nice. Some girls offered for pedicure and manicure service and also some guys offered for city tour by horse which was expensive for us. If you are not interested for the service you just politely say no, then they wont force you to use their service.

“Good views, dirty water”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2012

It is great to have a metropolis right on the ocean front. Some parts of the beach/seafront are nicely done, but the water is dirty, and the beaches also.

“The heart of a true Manila tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

For people who have lived in the city their entire lives, Manila Bay and its boardwalk may seem cliche. Hawkers and a few peddlers flock the streets, and the expansive bay smells of crude, stale garbage and salt.
Manila Bay, however, is reminiscent of the old and the new, and offers many scenic routes for those who are willing to do a walking tour. There is the quaint stone church of Our Lady of Remedies (locally known as Malate Church); ferry cruises during the morning and near-sunset by the bay. A bevy of authentic Pinoy street food carts, entertainment bars and restaurants that offer soul-stirring Filipino comfort food pepper either side of the streets.

It is this piquant mix of beauty and chaos that best describes Manila.

Best of all, it lends a most sweeping view of the sunset this side of the Philippines. Drop by at around 5pm and stay on for an hour to watch the shades on the horizon change from yellow to rose and fiery red before the final curtain call. The afterglow is enchanting, I guarantee you.

For those who seek respite from the metro's manic periods and who long for a dramatic, nostalgic feel of the city, Manila Bay is an excellent go-to place; a Manila tour is never complete without visiting the boulevard.

Best visited solo or with a confidant during sunset.
