AG New World Manila Bay Hotel

this hotel needs to renovate their rooms. we stayed in a club room, upon opening the door, the first thing we noticed was the smell, it smelled old and musty. the room was big, with a sitting area and work desk. toilet area was separate from the shower area, also had a half tub. toilet paper was very bad quality. drinks served at the club lounge included coffee, juices, sparkling water, and wine during cocktails. however, juice served was not fresh, either canned or concentrate. very disappointing considering other hyatts serve fresh juices

Room Tip: request for a room with a view facing manila bay so you can watch the beautiful sunset

I stayed for two nights in March 2013. Not so impressed with this property.

The interior of the rooms is in need of a refresh. Not shabby, not no so impressive either for a luxury hotel. One of my pet peeves is having a electric kettle and no plug adapter to use it (the cord was European style and the outlets are US style). Luckily I brought my own adapter. Also, on the desk there is only one empty electrical outlet - these days many travellers carry a lot of devices and I expect a few empty sockets to use or charge multiple devices.

The area around the hotel is quite dodgy, with a lot of hostess bars right across the street. In the evenings, the lobby was full of the bar customers taking girls up to their rooms. I don't think this kind of environment would be good for families.

I also noticed that one half of the building seemed to be blocked off and I could see laundry hanging inside the units - some of the rooms appeared to be under renovation and some appear to be occupied with long-term residents.

The staff in the executive lounge were friendly enough, but some basic service was absent. During happy hour, the three of us had been sitting at our table for 10 minutes and were not served while the table next to us was being offered refills. We had to go out of our way to get their attention to serve us. After we finished some tea and snacks, our empty cups and dishes were there for quite a long time and we had to ask twice for the table to be cleared off as we needed the space to work. However, on the bright side the staff were friendly and served us after we told them.

During my stay, the pool was under renovation but to be fair I was informed on the website and also with a follow-up email after the booking. They did offer access to pool at the nearby Diamond Hotel (looks like a two star property).

I'd only stay here again because of the location was near to our business meetings - otherwise I'd choose somewhere else in Manila.

Staying 3 days in Manila for business we needed a hotel with a good central location, cutting travel time to and from meetings to a minimum. The Hyatt fullfilled all our expectations, and with its 5* status you will enjoy excellent service. The hotel is located close the waterfront and the busy bar and restaurant district. All within walking distance.
Rooms are very spacious and have all the requirements of a 5* hotel. Internet access was somewhat tricky to get started, but once in the air, it worked fine and could connection on laptop, tablet etc without a problem. Morning buffet amongst the best I've tried in Asia - simply perfect. We did not dine in the hotel for evening dinners, but the manu looked very interesting. Fitness center to get over your jetlag is equipped and with staff around to help you. A good swing in the pool can be recommended.
Can be recommended.

My colleagues and I stayed here for one night en route to Subic Bay. There wasn't anything too unimpressive about the hotel. The rooms were clean, but the lobby and decor were worse for the wear. It seems to me that a small investment in the finishes would really bring this place up to four- or five-star standards.

That being said, you will be safe and comfortable here. Also, the breakfast buffet should not be missed (if you choose to stay here because of price).

Room Tip: If you like to see Metro Manila, you'll love any view!

As a child my first brushes with 5 star hotels were always with Hyatt. I have fond memories in Hyatt it be just for a stay in manila or traveling abroad. When my cousin was getting married somewhere in batangas, we opted to stay in manila and i hyatt at that. my dad lost the parking ticket and was fined for that. i wish there'd be no fine anymore on that. :( The staff was excellent as always and we were given a room that had a decent view of malate and its pool. The room somehow reeked of cigarette... :( The pool and gym was very clean much to my liking although i must say the pool is rather shallow, no deeper than 5 feet i guess. Their restaurants are all asian. Overall, i hope to stay there again :)

A beautiful , clean, extravagant hotel in Manila. Very luxurious. It is within walking distance to many restaurants and bars, as well as the Robinsons Mall. It is also close to one of the U.S. Embassies, in case you are here for business. The hotel staff is very courteous, and are always extremely helpful.

Room Tip: The spa is very reasonable, and very easy to get a massage appointment.
